    I was told once a long time ago. "You can ignore Politics, but Politics will never ignore you." Its crazy how spot on the take on the women in the store is. Everyone wants the end result of Our Freedoms, however they are not willing to do the first part of want gave us Our Freedoms. Which is to fight a Tyrannical Government no matter what size, shape or side it on. If a fight like this were to break out, I'm not sure you could stay neutral because at some point it WILL effect you no matter how much you don't want it to.

    I think the shop woman's explanation represents the idea that a lot of Americans avoid getting involved. "Since me or my loved ones are not directly affected, it's not my problem" mentality.

    What I got from the trailer is this. The president is a dictator; he is on his third-term.
    There are at least four (4) factions.
    Western Alliance: California and Texas
    Florida Alliance: Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, Tennessee, and Oklahoma
    Unknown rebel faction: Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Utah, Wyoming, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Minnesota
    USA is the rest.
    I got this from the portion of the trailer that showed the reflection of a map (In A24's video you will find it at 0:41). It is a map of the USA with factions highlighted, but flipped horizontally (Reflection on glass from a TV screen).
    In my opinion, only the Florida Alliance and unknown rebels in the North-West make sense as of now due to geography. However, I do have a theory on how California and Texas may have teamed up.
    My assumption is states seceded when this guy got his 3rd term; perhaps originally it was only two (2) factions with the USA and rebel states. Then California and Texas wanted to connect by land, so they invaded Arizona and New Mexico respectively (Similar to how Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union invaded Poland back in 1939). Arizona and Mexico conveniently are the only two (2) states in the South-West still in the USA. With both states conquered, California and Texas can connect by land once again. That attack then sparked the civil war, and to avoid confrontation Florida allied with what is now the states in the Florida Alliance, and the North-West states are on their own (unknown rebel faction). So, California and Texas created what is called "The Western Alliance".

    You are misunderstanding the trailer. If you listen closely in the beginning it said 19 states seceded (left) the United States. There are 3 major militia groups. The Texas/California Alliance, the Western Forces & the Florida Alliance. The war is about citizens taking on the government. This movie is a real possibility here in America. Many Americans are really tired of the way things are going here.

  • @jimboa20
    @jimboa20 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +10

    Some of the biggest military bases in the country are in California and Texas. The San Antonio area alone has something like 5 miltary bases, and each of them are fucking enormous. The trailer says that 19 states have seceded, so it's not just Cali and Texas, they just seem to be the two states leading the charge against the federal government. The big question I want to know is what the hell kind of event set this whole thing off? It would have to be something pretty fucking huge to make California and Texas, states that are polar opposites politically, join forces together against the federal government. This could be a laughably terrible movie, or it could be good. It all depends on what they AREN'T telling us in the trailer: what exactly led to this scenario.

    Sounds a bit uninformed to say “this would never happen”. Just a reminder that our 1st civil war literally had brothers fight against brothers, for north or south. The trailer also states that 19 other states have also seceded, so it’s not just Texas & California. BTW, California isn’t all liberals. Millions of conservatives there, they just don’t have the same funds as Hollywood. Just like here in NYC, where I live. A shitload of conservatives or people near the middle like me, that can’t stand overtly liberal policies. There’s a slow but steady shift towards the center or right, here. The rest of NY state is pretty conservative. Don’t confuse urban wealth centers with the will of the majority, of a state. Political power dynamics shift all the time; that’s how we got a Democrat & Republican shift, in the ‘60s.

    • @filrabat1965
      @filrabat1965 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Likewise, Texas isn't all conservatives. 1. The major urban core counties, with even the suburbs purple to slight blue. 2. There's the border areas (majority Hispanic, still majority democrat despite Republican gains in that area). BTW, you're making a mistake by saying the left doesn't believe in guns. They simply don't believe in our present level of ease of gun ownership. Remember Black Bloq (the anarchist left group on the west coast)? They certainly are willing to be violent when forced to, including using guns and bigger weapons. And if that still doesn't convince you, consider that a disproportionate amount of the Army is Black American - who definitely will not stand for a right-wing takeover.

      Um excuse me but major metropolitan areas are whatever state they are in. They aren't separate from the state.
      Also don't get too excited because it sounds like the premise of the movie is about an authoritarian president who won't give up power. The trailer briefly mentions "the third term president." It also mentions journalists being shot on site in DC. So it sounds like a centralized authoritarian government taking hold of the government in the East and western states being in open rebellion to stop it.

    Just think.. if Texas and Florida is alliances. Then Tennessee, North Carolina South Carolina, Georgia, Mississippi, alabama, Louisiana, Arkansas, and probably Oklahoma and Nebraska would be there too. It’s a small take in this movie

  • @Redneck2393
    @Redneck2393 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    Actually, TX and CA on the same side isn't impossible. For instance if the republicans in CA get fed up with everything and overthrow the democrat leadership or if a president from a third party (i.e. Not democrat or republican) get elected and manages to piss off both states to the point they decided to join up to fight a common foe, basically the whole "The enemy of my enemy is my friend" dynamic. Granted the likelihood of either scenario happening is slim, but it's technically possible. Plus as a firearms enthusiast, I'm kinda let down at the lack of variety in the weapons shown. I don't mind that most are M4 pattern rifles which makes sense since it's so common, but having more of them in different configurations would be much more realistic. Regardless, I don't really have much hope for this movie, not only do the action sequences look cheesy, but other movies on this subject have usually had a strong democrat bias, so there's a good chance this one could as well.

      I think the idea it could happen over relatively minor differences such as dems and republicans is not a likely scenario, political differences evolve over time. If one does occur it would be more over more serious items like water rights or shared resources. However, there is a strong interdependence among the states and there is a lot more we share in common then we have differences.

    I live on the border of Oklahoma & Texas, Indian territory with family in Texas and California, I’m extremely confused as to how these two states come together. Something tells me a major shift happens in California from Blue to Red cause that can’t happen in Texas or can it?? Also, California and Texas have more people than any other state in the U.S. California #1 at 40 million ppl, Texas #2 at 30 million, Florida #3 at 22 million. U.S. Military only 2 million. Even if you cut Texas and Cali population in half at 30 million fighting males, it’s overwhelming for the U.S. military. We can’t even win urban or rural warfare in Afghanistan let alone Texas and California. Billionaires between the two states with 100’s of thousand of Class 3 weapons holders. Most of your liberal democrats don’t believe in guns so I don’t see them as much help. Civil War is and has been on the American mind for quite sometime now. It’s talked about in my state every day. The Americans are watching everyday what’s happening with the Trump Trial and the evading, lying coverups of Hunter and Joe Biden, with the weaponization of out 3 letter agencies. Never in history has this been done to an American president and it wreaks of abuse of power. It eats at everyone’s core that I know and a strong hatred is developing. More people are involved in politics that never used to be. Times are a changing.

      It seems to me that Texas and California are cooperating in order to achieve something that it's quite impossible for one of them alone. So they have no option if they want to be independent from the rest of the USA, no matter if they are left or right wing. For me it's not difficult to understand because in Catalonia we have 2 major parties trying to secede from Spain. One is right winged and the other left winged. They quarrel each other often than not about economics and social politics, but they ally also when the goal is the independence.

      Actually.........The Texas Cali thing makes sense....if you're not seeing the world through only political news.
      California, Texas, and the states in between, do have a fair amount of people...but more than people, they have LAND.
      In a ground war, the land its self is key....the populations on top of it come and go.
      That land is privately owned, as well as a fair amount of federal holdings. Privately owned land is usually held by conservatives.
      So....while LA and San Fran, and Austin - and to a lesser extent the labor class of Silicon Valley - are loud proud lefties, the MASSES of ACREAGE surrounding those cities is still full 'red state' realness. Do not get it twisted.
      LA and San Fran would likely have to wall themselves off, while the enormity of Californias rural areas would be held down by wealthy private militaries and whatever cartel forces remain from the marijuana grow operations in northern Cali and the North West.
      If you look at electoral maps of the nation by county, you'll see exactly why California - as a state, not a philosophy - connects seamlessly with Texas Nevada Colorado, Idaho, Washington, Oregon and the Dakotas.
      The Blue Team are densely populated Islands on a vast, thinly populated Red Sea. If the war goes offline and on the ground, It makes sense for most of the west to coalesce around the access and resources provided by the Sacremento and San Joaquin Valleys, the Colorado River, and the millions of acres of existing ranchland.
      The existing owners/operators of land and industries in those areas, to say nothing of the existing folks living between those areas - far flung desert dwellers and mountaineers - are not San-Fran Soy Latte Folks to begin with. The first thing in war is to protect ones own - land resources family - and as much of the west is already owned by corporations or the mega wealthy, it makes sense - perfect sense - that those barons of cattle, timber, oil, and tech would circle their wagons, load up their existing ARMORIES, double their "security forces' and start putting up fences.
      The next war is the war between town and country. And 'country' has the land advantage.
