    I was in Porto and used a laundry service to clean my clothes. They also ironed and folded my clothes. It was so inexpensive! It was a time saver! I highly recommend it!

    Hey guys, sorry I missed the live. We are just leaving lisbon today from our short scouting trip. We really enjoyed the Belém and Lumiar neighborhoods. But who knows we may be back to see more.

    Great job!
    I have been looking at your videos from the beginning and I have since subscribed.
    I am thinking about visiting Portugal sometime soon, probably around the end of March. I was there in 2019 and did a world wind tour from Lisbon to Porto in 10 days and slept in 9 hotels. The pace of the trip was insane, and so I wanted to get back there and see the country on my own schedule. I have aged three birthdays since the last time I have taken a trip. My confidence as a solo traveller is not as it was before.
    My dream was to spend three months a year in Portugal to escape the Canadian winter.
    I am not a Airbnb person, I have never stayed in one.

      I like that hotels have 24 hour surveillance and onsite security . I think, the US Airbnb concept is totally different than other countries.

      I and we have been using Airbnb's since 2016. When we travel we want to try and immerse ourselves into what it might feel like to live there. Before that we used a lot of Bed and Breakfasts. Then there's the fact that I am cheap as ... I want the luxury of a hotel suite without paying $300+ per night. Of course there's usually no maid service but some Airbnb's come with that as well. If you're insecure about staying in an apartment owned by an individual there are corporate owned airbnb's and look for the ones that say they are licensed by the local govt. Most govts. these days (because of hotel lobbyist and safety concerns) require Airbnb hosts to have a hospitality license.

    2 minutes in and this is great. thank you. heading to Lisbon for first time in July with my 20 year old son. Look forward to the rest of the video. From other videos we're thinking Chiado, Alfama or Mouraria. Hotel or Air B&B. Maybe hotel Memmo Principe Real. We are there Friday thru Tues.

      Hey Erik, thank you for watching. For four days - I would probably prefer the ease of a hotel. They can keep you luggage, etc. Lisbon is not physically big, so even if you stay in Saldanha or Arroios (quieter areas more US-like hotels) you will be a 10 min metro ride to the tourist stops of Rossio, Baixa Chiado, and Cais do Sodré. You can walk to the historic areas of Alfama and Graça from tourist areas near the water.

    Which are Portuguese Black neighborhoods?

    • @OurBlackUtopia
      @OurBlackUtopia  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey T, the interesting thing is, that regardless of whether you're in a predominately Black neighborhood or not - we blend because we're everywhere. Lisbon is the biggest little city that we've been to.
      With that said, we tend to be across the river in and passed Almada, out by Amadora and near the airport. 😉

    Hey guys! Thanks for another great video. Quick question (early in the video before I forget!), how can one tell if it's a personally-owned space vs. corporate-owned? I like the idea of supporting the local residents vs. corporate. TIA

    • @OurBlackUtopia
      @OurBlackUtopia  ปีที่แล้ว

      Often times you can tell by seeing if that host is hosting other properties. 😉. 1 or 2 properties okay but many - probably not. Also, "executive-stay" hotels are often listed on Airbnb - that's an obvious one. Thanks for watching!
