Amazing how much I learned in 8 minutes! I got 3 pages worth of notes in my notebook! My focus right now is on building on my UX research skills but I know I would need to setup a portfolio soon to increase my chances of becoming a badass UX leader. Thank you for sharing such amazing content as always! A couple questions I have are 1, how do you know what measures you should use to ensure you work was impactful and 2, how do you determine what are the best methods (quantitative and/or qualitative) to use on your research.

Man I'm loving your videos. I'm just starting my change into UX after 25 Years in Art Direction and Different Design areas and boy I feel old compared to the classmates I had during my Bootcamp at Ironhack. They are 20 to 35-year old, and I'm 48!!!!
I m sure I will find motivation in your channel cuz it is hard to find jobs here in Mexico City. (at least for now) . Congrats, for your channel Kevin!!

I really applaud the Shia UX skit of just do it! I'm a UX designer today because I didn't wait for projects to land on my lap and now that I'm in the field. Projects keep getting thrown at me lol. Kind of like a dodgeball game I'm scared to play ironically, but..... I think at this point, I "just need to do it again" in terms of converting my massive projects with our casino/hotel partners into viable and well researched UX portfolio projects. In fact, I may need to segregate and split up my portfolio just to do it. I want to learn how to be more effective as a UX researcher and not just a designer/front-end dev. That's why I'm here. I know I can't know it all and I'll never claim to be at that stage, plus that would be boring as hell lol.
I also aspire to be an awesome full-stack developer, because I believe in coding languages, frameworks and technology will become more and more relevant as time goes on. And I want to be around to play in that particular sandbox. I love the dev environment code and what it can do for us. Imagines how lines of code can solve crazy problems. To me, that's exciting as hell, but heck that's just my bias perspective lol.

Hi Kevin, I'm extremly motivated by your videos. I'm working on my skills to take a jump into UX Research, as well! Just a couple of doubts: In general, what co-workers perceive/think of UX Reserachers? Do UX Reserachers get good respect at work? (are UX Researchers considered to be doing an important task in the project or just a tedious n rotinue task-- in one of ur videos, u mentioned: most companies bring in UX Researchers only at the end, after developing the Product ) 2) Looks like there are more female UXReserachers when compared to the male counterparts, is it true...or is it just a silly finding I have done from linkedin :)

    Hello Kevin,
What methods do you think would be good for faux case studies, that can be done from home by someone without experience? I started with a Heuristic Evaluation for a website and it went very well.
If you have other recommendations that can be done remotely, I would really appreciate them!
Thanks for all the great videos!

Depends on what you want to study. If you're exploring new spaces, field research to understand context would be great, or interviews about current behaviours

Hey! So the Interaction Design Foundation (www.interaction-design.org/courses/user-research-methods-and-best-practices?ep=zerotoux) has TONS of courses on UX and the research process. The link is my referral if you choose to sign up for some classes (3 months free!).
Other resources I have used: www.udemy.com/course/ultimate-guide-to-ux/
and generally my psychology background helped me in that I read a ton of other people's research and how they conduct it. So I also encourage you to read some research journals on Google Scholar. Here's one!
