Movie producers get told they never think outside the box nowadays... makes a film inside a box
This movie was delightful. I sat down to watch a bad B-movie, and instead, it was one of the most original, entertaining films I've seen in an age. The acting was good, the effects sort of magical, and the whole thing was clever and funny. Oh, and if you care about depth, it has some sneaky depth in there too. I kind of love this movie.
So, Little Shop of Horrors style?
@@Foxy02016 Different vibes but def a similar experience.
This is definitely the most creative comedy (trailer) I've seen in a while. And not a single raunchy, "edgy" curse word/sex joke throughout the whole trailer! I'm in.
Refreshing, isn't it?
Achidi Kisob
assbitchfucky Christian enough to know you don't need curse words to make a good comedy film.
Mrgokujr2012 there are so few comedys that can pull off that raunchy, always cursing persona. For every Hangover, Deadpool, and shawn of the dead, there is a neighbors 2, jack and jill, and badmoms.
Red box trailer... coming soon. lol
I just watched this movie.... I'd definitely give it 10 out of 10 for originality -- it's different, quirky and clever... loved it.
it's absolutely amazing, quirky and fun. also check out Allo Darlin's "my heart is a drummer" music video. If they werent an influence then it's true about great minds thinking alike!
Yessir!!!
This movie is probably one of the most creative movies I’ve ever seen
it's absolutely amazing, quirky and fun. also check out Allo Darlin's "my heart is a drummer" music video. If they werent an influence then it's true about great minds thinking alike!
It may be low budget but it's looks better than many other new movies
Lazy Lauren All that cardboard does not look low budget XD
Lazy Lauren nah
Cm'ere ladies and gent! Right here, in front of my home, right across the street there are not one, not two but whole ten cardboards!"WHAAAAA...?😮" And they're FREE!! Just come before the garbage truck or some old people take em!
I don't care what anyone says, this looks interesting as hell. It's incredibly imaginative, and I love the comedy horror tone like they've gone through a wormhole into a dimension of cardboard, where a Minotaur and cardboard traps are trying to kill them. That's kinda trippy.
it's absolutely amazing, quirky and fun. also check out Allo Darlin's "my heart is a drummer" music video. If they werent an influence then it's true about great minds thinking alike!
My gf and I regularly quote this film, it's absolutely amazing...
might be low budget but the idea seems neat!
What are you guys talking about?
It looks like shit! Lol
low budget? damn it looks like just the right budget for me
Pretty sure that much cardboard is not cheap
I saw this movie few months ago and trust me THIS IS BEYOND AMAZING! Most creative film I've seen in a long time! Pure Joy!
Wait... an original idea? It's not a remake of some movie that doesn't need to be remade? IS THIS LIFE?!
It's a movie; just not Hollywood. That's where all the original ideas went to; the indie folks
I mean technically it's a modern remake of Theseus and the Minotaur, concept of the main premise being the same but the plot and characters altered significantly.
Unfortunately the actual movie is a little bit disappointing. Really peaks halfway and then doesn't really know what to do with itself.
This is based off a short story
ever read house of leaves?
I honestly don’t care how low the budget is, let’s just appreciate that this movie is an original idea
Finally, a movie that starts and ends with set design.
it's absolutely amazing, quirky and fun. also check out Allo Darlin's "my heart is a drummer" music video. If they werent an influence then it's true about great minds thinking alike!
The title alone is exciting! Can't wait for the follow-ups: FRANK BUILT A BOAT, TIM PLANTED A GARDEN, BILL DREW A PICTURE, DREW BILLED THE PICTURE, and CYDLE TOUCHED A CAT.
ill be honest that last one has me worried
@@jadegreenleaf781 its cool clyde is in prison now for animal abuse
@Hey McFly Ladies and Gentlemen we have someone who has never heard of a joke before
Dave went into the catacombs? Oh wait that's As above as is below
House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski... as a comedy
...as adapted by Michel Gondry?
Yeah for real.
Let's all take a moment to appreciate how truly underrated this comment is...
lolololol I texted this link to my bestfriend saying the same shit.
came here to make this exact comment! :)
Underrated Masterpiece
One of the best movies I have seen, really good writing with a lot of meaning and enjoyable since the beggining to the end.
So lighthearted feels like a team building exercise amongst actors
Great movie, one of the funniest I've seen in a while. Highly recommended
I just saw it and it would pay twice as much just to watch it again it is the funnest thing I have ever seen. Completely worth it
1. It's bigger on the inside
2. "I can explain everything. No I can't."
Doctor Who in a nutshell
This has to be the freshest movie idea I've seen in a long time. I can already tell its going to be a great movie.
This is actually the most unique idea for a movie ive seen in a long time and it seems to be shit very well and have a clear indea of what it is. Nice
you mean shot?
Do you mean shot
I feel like people are running out of ideas everyday. And that's sad. Usually, this would the premise for a horror movie or a thriller. But this looks like a normal, fun adventure everyone can watch. Especially if they're into forts like myself and my brother
Jasper Childs the anus of creativity
yeah and it looks like the sets will cost way less than any other movie
Good movie if you can think out of the box. I would like to award it an academy award made out of cardboard, here in my living room!
I just had the absolute pleasure in watching this movie on Prime today, 8/17/22. THOROUGHLY enjoyed it!! Very creative as a self-reflective, horror comedy movie. I loved the documentary team, especially dude with the camera!😅🤣 Highly recommend!
it's absolutely amazing, quirky and fun. also check out Allo Darlin's "my heart is a drummer" music video. If they werent an influence then it's true about great minds thinking alike!
Finally people actually put creative thought behind a film! I will definitely watch it!
legitimately looks great
Looks retarded, not sure what you're talking about.
Typical Comeback: What are you 12?? Go back to Transformers!! This movie makes ya think!!! And it's totally original!!
looks great.. gonna watch it..
looks stupid to me
Trouble Came Calling
Yea.. I'm already sweating from how hard that was =P
the name is
This is pretty cool, we don't get many movies like this anymore. Ill go see this for sure.
Dr Who really needs to stop lending out his TARDIS
shut up you virgin
River stole the thing how many times without him knowing? Who knows what she was doing in their with her string of lovers.
@@yankochin631 joke still makes sense
the show "doctor who" is lending out the tardis to this movie
This looks like a parody of a movie you'd see in a TV show and MY GOD do I love it!
This is the most amazing use of low-budget effects I have ever seen.
Finally!!! The House of Leaves movie we've all been waiting for :P
Just finished watching it and the closest thing to it is the Hitch-hiker's Guide to the Galaxy. I expect to have weird dreams tonight.
it's absolutely amazing, quirky and fun. also check out Allo Darlin's "my heart is a drummer" music video. If they werent an influence then it's true about great minds thinking alike!
So I just watched this movie and let me say it's a fun trippy adventure and I love it. but what I thought was funny was that when my mom walked in she thought I was watching a Saw 😆
it's absolutely amazing, quirky and fun. also check out Allo Darlin's "my heart is a drummer" music video. If they werent an influence then it's true about great minds thinking alike!
Looks great honestly, feels like a lighthearted fun-looking movie.
Atleast someone realises that effort can even make cardboard look more interesting than cgi.
I liked the film... oh yea... REALLY GREAT JOB GIVING AWAY THE ENTIRE PLOT AND SURPRISE OF THE MOVIE in the TRAILER PEOPLE
It's always a good feeling to see a film with legitimate great potential.
People often complain that there are no new ideas coming out of Hollywood, and that all movies are either sequels or remakes. It's good to see that that's not always the case. This is original, and it looks both interesting and amusing. To me anyway. I'm definitely going to give this a shot.
This looks like a really fun and creative movie. I think I'll rent it and watch it with the family.
This trailer is inspiring for some reason
I was wary because of the title. I'm glad I clicked though. It genuinely looks good.
I'm SOLD! I didn't even finish the trailer, this just looks like a really fun Indie film :)
Low budget at its finest
I love original and creative ideas, gonna love this for sure
How the plot was created: a few friends got high as shit, one of the friends tripped and fell into some garbage on the apartment floor and BOOM! Movie idea...
just watched this movie and im glad i did. craziest movie ive seen in a long time. keeps you laughing the whole time
Hey! I'm in this movie!
ScottVsBox you are the MAN!
Who you or the box
yeah! SAYS WHO?
@@juliarhodes1735 LMAO
Just watched a movie filmed inside a cardboard labyrinth. Worth it
saw this at the Omaha Film Festival in March and it's amazing! Easily the best film I've seen at the film festival in years. Should hopefully get advance Dvd copy soon and host a viewing party!!
Wait, Omaha has a film festival??
For those dismissively saying "this is house of leaves".... house of leaves isn't the first to tell a story like this. It's Greek mythology's Daedelus and Theseus, mixed with influences like Jim Henson's Labryinth and CS Lewis' Lion the witch and the wardrobe... maybe Allo Drummer's music video "This heart is a drummer" and more! That's like saying Battle Royale did it before the Hunger Games... Hunger Games is influenced by Battle Royale which is influenced by Lord of the Flies and so on. turtles all the way down. Dave made a maze is a really wonderful and unique take on stories told throughout time.
for those who like the novel "Indian in the cupboard"... but would like it less dated and more dark, adult, and full of 80s references. Check out James Gunn's book "The Toy Collector" (who later became famous for Guardians of the Galaxy).
Looks like some high as fuck TH-camrs produced this movie.
Graphic .J still better than hollywood movies lately. By lately i mean in the past 15 years.
Graphic .J i think its based on a book i read once called the labyrinth... This kid puts on a vr type gaming headset that his dad built, and transports himself into a maze where he has to defeat a minotaur in order to escape...
John Galt lmfao
John Galt I know Romans copied a lot of Greece mythos but didn't that originate in Greece too?
Graphic .J, or a homeless man.
This movie is a perfect warning as to why you should never meddle with something a wizard made when he was bored.
Love the idea! Has a Michael Gondry feel to it, which is always a plus!! Will definitely check it out!
Michel
who ever chose the thumb-nail deserves an honorary Oscar.
which SCP is this
*woah*
So on point 👌
SCP-647 The Hungry box.
I'm pretty sure thats the one.
Could it be the architect
Vicente Bravo that’s 184 right?
I mean easily the best trailer I've seen in recent memory
Sorry guys i was Bored so i made it :/
but why
No, you weren't bored, you were board.
*puts sunglasses on*
Cardboard.
you forgot the... EEEEYYYYAAAAHHHH
Dave how do you accidentally create a cardboard maze that's it's own dimension.
If you build it they will come... or wait, wrong movie.
Curtain Jerks sent me here. This movie looks amazeballs!!!!
Westworld Season 2 is looking great!
Got that right! The new Hosts seem a little small, though?
"Everybody are Assholes!"
"Is"
"Everybody is Assholes!
That doesn't sound right!"
This was such a cool interesting movie.....hi five..
Saw the movie, was as good as expected
By which I mean it was awesome
I think this looks really good, but you can't call something a "cult classic" before anyone has seen it.
it's been playing at dozens of in USA & events internationally. check the Facebook for upcoming events
Saw it at CUFF and I can assure you this is "Cult Classic"
Thanks, VideoFin! Glad you dug it. If you get this message quickly enough, there are two more chances to see it in Calgary: tonight 8/11 and tomorrow 8/12...
Everyone at the Omaha Film Festival had a blast watching it. One of the most popular shows of the event.
Sadly I was working, but I bought I am excited for the Blu-ray I ordered!
why everyone talking about budget. i mean if it's great, its great. if it's bad, its bad. doesn't matter how many dollar they spend.
Looks stupendous! Phenomenal idea!
Cant wait to watch.
That's like a long Tomska movie. So glad to find it.
When did the TARDIS become cardboard?
Doctor had to make some budget cuts...
The Exiled Draco omg that could be Clara's tardis come on she can't just leave that around the doctor would so disappointed at her
Tardboard.
This is TARDIS 1.0.2
I blame Peter...
This....actually looks like a better comedy than anything of recent memory.
As a kid: (Inside) What you THOUGHT your cardboard maze looked like. VS
(Outside) What it actually looked like.
Yep.
I bet they had a lot of fun filming this movie. Definitely looks super cool.
I feel like I just watched a huge Arby's fb ad. dope.
I want to see this. Just a reminder I was here.
Hey baby! welcome come home! I built a labyrinth!
I'm laughing this part!
This should win the oscar for best production design
The title should be " Dave made a weird ass maze".
You know what, movie? This is the first trailer in a while that I thought didn't look terrible. Okay, I'm in. :)
the concept aMazes me so much, eh? anyone? No? okay I'll just be on this corner.
I watched it yesterday, awesome film, I loved it!
I can smell Weed all over the Maze.!!
of course, you smell weed because your last name is 'weed Wilson'
Getting ready to watch this. I watched a few minutes of it last night; the intro is so amazingly funny and unique.
Getting major House of Leaves vibes but without the horror
RIGHT.
Felt the same way! If we can't get an actual House of Leaves film this might have to do.
Yeah!!!
That was my exact thought!
I was thinking the same thing. I'm still waiting for a legit house of leaves movies to come out
Me: Mom Can we have the backrooms?
Mom: No we have the backrooms at home
The backrooms at home:
If house of leaves was a comedy?
Rusty Venture........ that voice alone catapulted this to instant classic.
Looks super interesting.
I aboslutely LOVED this movie! Great work!
How about "A Mazing Dave!"?
This is probably one of the more unique and original movie ideas this year.
I so glad weed is becoming more legal. The creativity should be getting much
higher....👈 word
Dave is pretty damn amazing at maximizing available space.
5 stars out of 5 for the imagination and brainstorming. Weird, but not in a really interesting way. The acting was decent, you had a sense of each character's personality from the moment they came into the scene. I don't want to give anything away, so just watch it yourself.
looks like the best weirdest idea for a movie ive seen in a long time. hope its as good as the trailer
I better see David Bowie as the Goblin King wondering around this maze
he is dead
Yeah but the box is magic.
Yeah but the magic isn't dancing.
I just googled this for more details. This was written by Bill Watterson! Nice to see he's keeping busy.
Perhaps inspired by House Of Leaves????
comedy and horror is the most fearest genre
OK, looks awesome, but I didn't recognise John Hennigan in it. Then I looked up his IMDB page and he's playing the Minotaur. OK, that's... unexpected and a bit disappointing.
I REALLY want to see this.
I also REALLY want to play little big planet again.
wow this looks so fun and interesting! great concept just hope it's not too kiddie or fake for its concept.
One day Calvin comes home from school to find that Hobbes is gone, with evidence to suggest he was destroyed by a dog or lawn mower... to cope with the loss his parents get him other toys, but none of them have any life in their eyes, eventually he goes insane trying to find his friend, wondering if it was all a dream or if this is a nightmare, he invents machine after machine, building on and on until one day he wakes up around 36, hungover in his studio apartment, turns the tv on and binge watches Westworld. He spends the next 2 years arranging his creations into what we now call "the maze".
