She may have been away from Hollywood but she clearly never left the hearts of millions all over the world Why do some ppl perceive her versatility as fighting roles she's made iconic? Julie has the most prestigious world class artistry! Julie Andrews is an iconic legend! A beauty inside & out! I love her!
Thanks my dear for posting this. It's the first time for me to see it. I will always love that scene when she walks in her tux and umbrella on the broadway. Love it!
Yes, she has joked and talked about it several times.... there was one particular interview, I think it's here on youtube, with Craig Ferguson (hilarious stuff!) that he asks if anyone told Dick that is accent wasn't "that good" ...to what Julie replies "I think he told that to himself...several times", or something like that...
I think the innuendo is she slept her way to the position... But I could be wrong... From a website "Edwards and Andrews were only nodding acquaintances when Julie heard that Blake had speculated in public that her popular success was due to her having lilacs for pubic hair. A few weeks later she sent him a lilac plant-and for the past 34 Novembers she has given him lilacs for each of their wedding anniversaries."
or gone comedic. she totally has a hard on for comedy blake edwards..carol burnett. not that she was bad at drama...she's such a light, fluffy, sweet person.
Did she actually take the Name of Jesus in vain at 8:23? I know that she didn't have ANY kind of formal religious upbringing, but now I'm REALLY beginning to understand why she would have resented being identified with Mary Poppins and SOM. I guess, to quote the film incarnation of Sally Bowles: "A tiger is a tiger, not a lamb!" and "You'll NEVER turn the vinegar to JAM!" No wonder I was *ALWAYS* so much more drawn to Audrey Hepburn - now THERE'S a truly "fair LADY!"
She's versatile! Love her persona & her artistry! World Class & prestigious! No one in Hollywood is more beloved than Julie! What a treasure!

Victor/Victoria was based on a British movie in the 1930's 'First A Girl' which was based on a German movie.
Yes they did. It aired on the 60 minutes show. ;)
In an interview Blake said that Julie used to wake up in the middle of the night from nightmares about her younger years.
Wow!Thanks tons!:0)

Dame Julie Andrews was the most nicest person during that time in Hollywood and is still is, the lilac story is after they had started dating....
I love Julie but Blake seems quite weird to me. What a strange, inappropriate thing the said. Thanks for posting! This is a great interview! :)
In what way do you mean that exactly? If you mean well, people could misinterpret you ... ...
But yup, Julie Andrews is the BOMB!! :D
? did they show that on t.v. !?
Yes they did. Right in the 6-7 pm hour, Julie got her tiddies out on network TV, uncensored. It was an amazing time.

She said "Lilacs for pubic hair"...lol

haha.. I think you've got the correct word.
Ah... mhmm... maybe my dictionary is wrong about that word?
@hcogal9458 i got you. she IS the shit!!!
should've embraced being the quaint prim british actress and embraced those roles until another opportunity came along.
