2:48 "How many are die?" I'm just guessing that means, "How many are dead?". If so then the answer is 8, not 9. "all but 9 die" That means there are 9 left, since everyone died, exept for 9. If 9 are alive now and there were 17 before, that means 8 died.
Because Rajamanickam Antonimuthu doesn't speak /write correct English, the question is what does he mean by "all but 9 die. how many are DIE?" Probably "How many are dead?" In that case 8 seems a correct answer unless ... Raj means that the farmer also could have died. He counts the farmer also as one who can die. In that case of the 18 living creatures (17 sheep and 1 farmer) 9 are dead and 9 are still alive.

The formulation of this question could have been better. I appreciate his effort to make this video but Raj has to consider if it's wise to ask trick questions when you're not a native speaker and know the in's and outs of a language. If not, that can confuse people.
I can answer all questions without even looking at them. I guess I am a genius. Please note that the instructions do not say you have to get the right answer but only that you have to answer all 20 questions.

When you divide you flip the fraction so when u divide 50 by half the half is flipped and you multiply 50 with 2. It comes 100 and if you add 40 with it, it comes 140. DONE

I was in the middle of answering a question then this came up 3...2...1..... why would you do that at least put it on the side of the screen
Each answer given prior to viewing.
1. Easy - (Grand)mother, mother (daughter), daughter - 2 mothers, 2 daughters - 3 persons, 3 apples.
2. Easy - John. The answer is given in the originating statement and confirmed by the presentation thereafter of the 3 other children's names; June, July, August.
3. Average - 20 people with 2 hands = 40 hands, each hand must shake another requiring the sum of the integers from 2 to 38 minus 40 (as the hands don't shake each other), therefore there are a total of 700 handshakes. Alternatively, if we are only shaking one of our hands with one from another person, then the total number of handshakes is 190 (summing the integers from 1 to 19 and subtracting 10 for the hands that do not shake each other).
4. Very Easy - All of them. Every month has 28 days (or more).
5. This question is ambiguous - I cannot reasonably give an answer, however, I believe it is alluding to removing the ?hands? and therefore there are 0 apples in your hands ... I don't know. This question is badly worded (likely due to language differences). I will discount it.
6. Very Easy - 8 dead sheep. 17 total sheep originally, all *but* 9 die, 17 - 9 = the number of dead sheep (9 are still alive). I will discount this question due to the language barrier.
7. Very Easy - You overtake the person in second place, thereby securing second place. You are in second place now.
8. Ambiguous - The wall is either built already, in which case the answer is 0 hours (because the wall is already built) or, the men are building a second wall at 50% the efficacy of the original 8 men in a total of 20 hours.
9. Very Very Easy - Ummm ... the stone sinks? (assuming that it is not pumice or something of the like, or that the salinity of the water is not sufficient to allow enough buoyancy for the stone to float).
10. Unknown - My knowledge of geography is quite limited - however, bays are made of water, water at room temperature is liquid, so you could say that the Bay of Bengal is in a liquid state (I admit I have seen this question before). I will discount this question due to my prior knowledge of it.
11. Very Very Easy - You can make Seven "Even" by removing the "S".
12. Very Easy - The "horses" are teeth (assuming an adult as there are usually only 20 deciduous teeth).
13. Moderate - There are quite a few different forms of energy - potential, mechanical, gravitational, electrical, nuclear - but only one that I can think of that might be a food with an added letter. The answer is Heat and Wheat. HAH! and now that I see the rest of the question I am positive, the preposition formed is "at-" and the drink is "T(ea)".
14. Moderate - I'm stumped (is it an anthem?, the first line of a famous book?, a mnemonic to remember some fact?).
15. Extremely Easy - None, Noah and the ark is mythology. (HAH! I got the correct answer regardless).
16. Ambiguous - Perhaps he is referring to the word "longest" here? Personally I prefer antidisestablishmentarianism (although there are longer). I will discount it.
17. Moderate - Is there someone called the "mute" in parliament? I'm not sure. Stumped again. (In Canada we pronounce the A ...)
18. Easy? - Bail water or fix the hole? It seems easy.
19. Very Easy - 50 / 0.5 = 100 + 40 = 140
20. Very Easy - One pill - wait 30 minutes - one pill - wait 30 minutes - one pill - wait 30 minutes - one pill - wait 30 minutes - one pill. Total time elapsed = 2 hours.
Given that some of these questions aren't really IQ style questions and some are ambiguous and some must be discounted due to the language barrier, I am scoring myself 13/14 having only incorrectly answered 14. I discounted questions 5, 6, 10, 16, and 17. I disqualified question 18 because my answer seems logically sufficient.
Ultimately, however, my score is 13/20.

on the 3rd question, the one with the handshakes the answer is actually 171, because if you take a random person he would shake hands 19 times, not 20, unless he shakes hands with himself...

Aris Psaltis That'd be a method to obtain information regarding the correct answer, not the correct answer itself. You could count that as prior knowledge, although the whole point of the question is to open your mind up to word play. You don't need to know what's going on exactly, just know that there's a reasoning to the language being used.
I guessed each mom was pregnate so they ate one apple and cut the other in half because he said they HAD to eat one apple he didn't say they couldn't eat half an apple since their babies eat whatever they eat they each got 1

if u takes out and how many are die? also you said there were 17 in all and all but 9 died which would be a good IQ question if at the end of the question you said how many are alive, but you said how many are dead so it would be 8 not 9. Thank you for making this video you probably put a lot of effort into it just maybe next time you can try to just check your grammar and make sure the questions make sense. Overall I think it is a good IQ test, I just think if you put just a bit more effort into it, it could have been better.

If this is what IQ test is all about, I don't see any reason why anyone who got all the answers right will think himself smarter than me if I answered five Qs correctly. Just very few of them present logical reasoning.

This is sad. There are language issues and context jumps, such as @2:22 "THERE ARE 4 apples" it never says YOU HAVE their is no indication that any of the apples are owned by you, it then states "YOU take away 2" does this suggest that I took them and I now claim them as my own, Or does it mean 2 went away ? ... Don't Know... then we are asked "how many do you have in your hands?" which first of all assumes that I EVER touched the apples as in the earlier unclear statement "You take away 2" does not indicate if i used a broom to knock them into a rubbish bin, or if I picked them up and am currently holding them. Otherwise it is 4-2=2 which does NOT belong on an IQ test
@2:48 "a farmer has 17 sheep, all but 9 die"... in english , the phrase "all but" followed by a number means that number (in this case 9) are the ones who are not affected. if "all but 9 die" then those 9 live. that is what those words mean.
"how many are die?" is broken english. the closest translation would be "how many died?" or "how many are dead?" so again an overly simple subtraction which can be counted on bodily appendages 17-9=8, 9 alive, 8 dead sheep.
but your answer the number who did NOT die as you stated when you said there were 17, all but 9 die, BUT 9 are the survivors, so unless you meant to ask how many did not die... you are just plain wrong on a very simple question.

First, at NO POINT does a wall get built by any of these imaginary men. Second, there are aspects of the process which take the same amount of time regardless of how many people are involved, such as transporting materials, or using a mixer, depending on what materials the wall is to be constructed from and when you subvert any deep logical analysis of the question with a cheeky snarky claim that your definition of the word "IT" is smarter than any deep workplace analysis and that your "correct" answer is "the 8 men already built it" reveals that you are not very smart and a bit of a Jack-ass.

You said "it" and after how proud you are of that already built snarkiness, we have to assume that you mean that same wall which was absolutely built by 8 imaginary people every time you say "it" since that is the entire foundation of you being "correct" on that question...
@4:38 asking geography questions does not measure IQ, never has, never will. Places are given names made up by people and they tell other people the made up names and some people write it down and some people tell you about some of them. THERE IS NO PART OF THAT PROCESS which reflects intelligence beyond the basic ability to communicate which you, Yourself have proven to not be capable of. Then you turn it into a PUN and call yourself smart. the word "state" was misused as anytime people who communicating, it is the responsibility of the one putting out the words, to make the context clear. I see videos and scientific papers talking about new states of matter, and they ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS call it "State of Matter" within the text (you did not) and they do NOT clutter the sentence with irrelevant garbage like "Bay of Bengal" which is completely irrelevant, just as it would be if the sentence contained bits about your cousin's wedding when your answer indicates that the actual question should have been worded "which state of matter is a large body of water? " which is also not an indicator of intellect, it's a matter of education, if nobody told you the secret words, you are NEVER going to logic out which letter combo means liquid. for handshake question answer is 19(first person can handshake 19 others)+18(he can make only 18 handshakes since ihe had one with the previous person who has 19 handshakes)+17+...+1+0(last person has no one left to handshake). Then answer is 19*18/2=171.

It doesn't mean that. "Two mothers and their two daughters" think of it as "two mothers and their collective two daughters" because between them they have 1 daughter each.

The first one is BS you said two mothers and THEIR two daughters, which means that there are six people! You needed to say there are two mothers and two daughters.
The Hand shaking one is 380! each person shakes 19 hands and there is 20 people so it's 20x19=380
Easiest way to sort this out in your head is number 20 people in a queue 1 to 20. The first person walks down the queue and shakes hands with everybody (all other 19 people), so he no longer needs to remain in the queue. The second person walks down the queue to shake hands with everybody (18 people) then excludes himself from the queue and so on. So you would add 19 plus 18 plus 17 plus 16 etc.... until the last two people shake hands and in total you would end up with 190 handshakes.
+glen furness if person #1 shook hands with #2, then #2 is not going to shake hands with #1 again. That would be duplicate.
