    This setup
    Looks so clean! You have sold me on a Cade ! I remember a particularly interesting plumbing job on my old 125 😳 we completely redid the plumbing after setting up the tank in a new place and worked so hard at getting everything beautiful and neat… filled that baby up and just completely forgot about one critical step. Next thunderstorm the power went out and we had gallons and gallons of water all over the living room 😳😳😳😳 oops anti siphon 😭😭

      Thank you Stephanie!!! It’s a beaut for sure!
      Ouch on the flood… were you missing a syphon hole in the return outputs? The CADE as an additional baffle wall in the overflow to break syphon in the event of a power outage or when the return pump is off. 😁

      Yes agreed about the stainless. We use 316 marine grade but over a long time they will eventually begin to rust. Consider them a serviceable item. They’re provided because first and foremost need to keep the water in the system not on the floor 😬👍👌

    • @ReefStash
      @ReefStash  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@domenickascoli535 I would put the gate valves a bit above the final drain line. It’s super helpful during tank maintenance to close the drain when the return pump is off. You can definitely get away without them on the drain but the systems I ran without - I wished I had installed them.

    • @ReefStash

      @@domenickascoli535 Yes I would unless they are at different drain heights meaning one is an emergency drain like mine on the CADE but if they are both identical then yes. You could also have both drains funnel to a single larger drain with one gate valve.

    Awesome video! Really curious (now that you have gone through the plumbing) if you think it be possible to “reverse” the Cade overflow plumbing and place the sump not below the tank but behind the tank? I would really like to place this peninsula tank flush to my wall and have the plumbing run through the wall into a fish room that will house the sump.

      @@johnpeterman132 hey John, thanks for the kind words on the video! In regards to the peninsula being set up in a standard position you have to understand my “why”. I specifically selected the Peninsula in order to accomplish the background look of this system which is free from gear and overflow. It was the only CADE model available where I could implement this LED lit look. View this short to get a better look at it and try to imagine if I did not select a Peninsula how the background would look with gear and an overflow. th-cam.com/users/shortsdsJdmjGE_9c?si=YFP1ELyUzfSEeIXy
