    Manoj Bajpayee deserves to be made a super star, in every sense of the word. He has more acting bones than any current actor of this generation, in all respect. Instead for the majority of audiences he’s just a strong character actor. SRK was Manoj’s junior when they both started out and look at the ride Shahrukh has had. Manoj has had way more struggle sustaining his career, has had as diverse of a career if not more, and his films all carry deep messages and an acting masterclass by him. So glad The Family Man is giving Manoj new waves of love and respect! He deserves this and so much more 🔥

      @cod gamer You know what this show did for a non-South Indian like me? It made me aware of the atrocities the Sri Lankan Tamils were made to go through and the way the Indian government denied help because of political diplomacy. It increased my respect for normal Srilankan Tamils and made me more sympathetic and understanding towards people like the character Raji who took to guns! There are thousands like me who had similar experience. Isn't that great? About comments, there are thousands of comments and anybody can comment any shit. Its about whether you choose to focus on the positives or negatives. I understand it might be difficult for you but it's really unfair to the makers and actors of this show who are actually doing a service by bringing in awareness on the matter. Samantha herself told that she chose the project because she realized how unaware people were about the injustices done to Sri Lankan Tamils! I request you to watch the show before reaching any conclusions. It's more than the victory of good over bad. I even cried at the end.

    The way they show the justifications behind every characters decisions is great. It was good to see an Indian show that doesn't show a straight up bad guy. I do not know why Indian movies usually do that...even movies like dangal had to show a weird bad coach to take up the role of a villain. But the fact that they mentioned that governments come and go and ideologies will change - accordingly terrorists can be called revolutionaries and vice versa. That's a very mature stance.
    Also amazing amazing action by Raji!

  • @musically_insane
    @musically_insane 3 ปีที่แล้ว +34

    I was simultaneously rooting for Raji and Srikant to succeed in their respective missions. At no point during the series was I able to completely align my sympathies with just one character. They even managed to humanise Sajid and explain his motivations very clearly. That's the hallmark of good writing. By no means is the show perfect, and as a viewer, I can take the liberty of criticising it from the comfort of my couch. But this show still remains highly entertaining with a great story to tell. It's so fun to watch and the hard work and the expertise drips from every frame. So glad to see Manoj Bajpayee getting to flex his muscles and headline the kind of project that suits his talent.

    • @sonal_she_her595
      @sonal_she_her595 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you remember Sajid was humanized quite early in S1 when they tell him to go to Kashmir he talks about him missing Kashmir and that his brother was shot down when he was 14, that was such a heartfelt scene. Even the character of Moosa, and the whole end sequence where they're both fighting each other even when they don't want to and are driven by their own motivations. I've never been so sad with the death of an antagonist but they created it so well. Raj and DK are so good with writing real and human characters and i did that too, what you mentioned above. I was rooting for both Raji and Sri. A big kudos to Raj, DK and Suman Kumar for writing all these brilliant characters

    • @musically_insane
      @musically_insane 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@sonal_she_her595 i agree! i completely forgot about it. i also liked the focus on the conundrum that the agents face. the realisation that they are pawns in the greater scheme and yet sacrificing their lives in the service of their nation or sometimes in the service of the "post."
      even the use of cursing, which i feel is used way out of proportion and in an almost sensationalistic way in certain web series like sacred games, is here used in such a natural manner that it never comes across as contrived.

    I am disappointed that this interview doesn’t include Samantha for playing the Raji character. It was a top notch performance.Like Anupama said in an earlier review I was able to get over the brown face by the strength of her performance.
    The brown face explanation is still ridiculous though. The makeup made Samantha look like she rolled around in a coal pit rather than an authentic tan. The type that comes from outdoor combat training and living in the jungles in Sri Lanka.They should have let Samantha act in her original skin tone or cast an dark skinned actress. Tamils also do come in a variety of browns.The issue with making light skinned actors darker in media is that it often ends up looking bad. And it adds to the narrative of lighter skin looking better than darker skin.
    The scenes where an alienated Kashmiri Sajid bonded with an oppressed eealam Tamil Raji were really beautiful.Reminds us to focus our anger on the oppression but not the consequences that oppression creates - Raji/ Sajid.
