Having played FS since its initial DOS 3.0 days (anyone remember that puppy?), I think, by far, FSX has been the best to date, as far as realism goes... I could be wrong, but its just my thoughts...
there manuals for the Aircraft , an airline pilot can't be expected to remember every single precaution , error code , what to do in case of an unusual failure or instrument problem (there is even more than what i've just said) , the navigator has access to all the information he'll need in that "bookcase"
To land, the airspeed and the rate of descent are reduced to where the object descends at a slow enough rate to allow for a gentle touch down. For aircraft, landing is accomplished by slowing down and descending to the runway. This speed reduction is accomplished by reducing thrust and/or inducing a greater amount of drag using flaps, landing gear or speed brakes. As the plane approaches the ground, the pilot will execute a flare to induce a gentle landing.
For ppl complaining about low performance, have you checked out the FSX patch 1. Ive tried it and it dramatically increases performance for a very slight trade off in quality. I never used to be able to play on ultra high settings without extremely noticeable lag. After the patch I can play above the default ultra high settings with max autogen and scenery complexity and still get away with minimum lag. I've got 2 gb ram, 512 mb 7300gt (video memory shared = 1272 mb) and
what airport was this? hm the landing is really a bit hard, you need to disable the autopilot a few seconds before touching the ground... to make the plane land more smoothly. But nice video, and good framerate! ^^
l1998, The kind of zooming you have used, is definitly not stock game. Did you use any of the add-ons like Active Camera for FS? I too would like to get it or purchase it if need be. Kindly suggest.
I've got 512 MB RAM , 256 MB VRAM on nVidia EN6600LE, Intel Pentium 4 on 3.01 GHz, and it runs pretty smooth on scenery normal and medium, advanced animations, high-quality terrain and textures, aviation traffic, water effects at maximum, but no cars and boats, no bloom and just on 1024x768x32. These only on about 35-40 FPS on cruise, and 18-29 at airports. Got the benchmark you needed?
A flare is raising the nose of the aircraft when it's over the runway. This helps to decrease the descent to allow the aircraft to gently touch down onto the runway surface. It's hard to explain with just words.. Look at some youtube videos of real airline aircraft landing... You'll see how the nose of the aircraft is higher than the tail... And the back wheels softly touchdown onto the runway before the nose wheel. Good Luck.
im no expert at all, but i guess what people mean with "you didnt flare" is that the landing was a bit rough! Perfecty aligned beautiful flight, but that landing went KA BOIOIOIOING! But i guess the "pilot" was too busy with the camera view ;-) if you know what i mean.... but that landing looked liked done by an autopilot. next time... lol FLARE
try lowering your framerate so it fits to your pc. do that in settings>graphics and then there should be a slider with framerate or frames per second sign...
dude not to be mean but i just started learning about the insides of computers not that long ago and i dont really get what those initials stand for except for the CPU and i already know which kinda RAM im getting and how much of it. and i know about a graphics card but i just dont know where the power cable plugs into. By the way im trying a get an EVGA GeForce 8800 GT. The one thats blue and white and i think the box is like black and gold
I am running Vista 32bit, 1GB RAM with GeForce 7500 LE (512Mb RAM), DirectX 10, 2GHz Dual Core AMD Athlon 3800+. The Game should run right? If so, how much detail could this system handle?
Nice vid & good approach plus I like the way you cut all of your scenes to cover all aspects of the 747... and, YES, you do flare in every commercial aircraft. The only planes that don't flare are the Navy Pilots landing on the carrier. No, BS from a real world pilot and former USAF guy. Take a look at all the real world landings for 747s on youtube if you don't believe me.
well im trying to get a new graphics card but its just one thing thats confusing me. the one im trying to get has a power cord and i dont see that kinda outlet it plugs into on my motherboard
@aqlaria Yes, and in fact you may well find that FSX has better performance with Win 7. For me I can now easily achieve 30 to 40 fps where as with vista I was about 15 to 20 max. However it may crash when using the alt menus, it does for some people, but adding the vista version of UIAutomationCore.dll in the FSX install folder fixes that problem for the majority of people that have had the alt menu click crashes. It did for me.
you'll need to make sure your motherboard can handle PCIe (which i think the 7300le should definately be, but check anyway), and you will need a new PSU. In total, for a decent bundle of the 2 should set you back under 4 or 500. But you probably should invest in ram, a new mobo, and possible a new CPU if your computer is a little old, or running a Celeron, or low budget new CPU.
I have only 10-12 fps on my C2D3,4GHz and 8800GTS512 (with many options only on middle). Be happy You can play with such weak equipement. Problem is that CPu is burning here with data to count while GPU have too small work to do.You can see how fps are cuted in 3Dmarks in CPU tests(when engine force CPU to generate GPU work).1-2 fps instead 40-50fps. I see the same problem here. 5-6 yers ego when they start FSX we had very slow GPUs . Due to old engines limitation they leave us main CPU role :-(
XP is just fine, get atleast 2G of RAM. That should do the job for any future game (not for Assassins Creed). And the 7600 is prety good but it's better to get 1 from the 8 series now that they'r not so expensive any more
No, there is no commitment from Microsoft that it will continue to develop the franchise, at least in any form similar to FSX. There are rumours that some form of flight simulator will take the form of an online game, or be moved to the xbox platform. But FS as we know it will be no more, Aces or otherwise.
Thats why I have my realism settings at the hardest, so when i make a hard landing, my plane collapses. I give him an 8/10 coz i know he got a crazy graphics card and PC
I like it. and OH hell ya it is fun when you get the yoke and pedals i dont have pedals but i have a joystick which makes the game fun. If you use the keyboard then dont get the game.
WHAT A WONDERFUL TOUCHDOWN. RESPECT.
excelente aterrizaje muy bien!!!
buen video
Love the Video.
Also LOVEING THE GODFATHER SONG
deserves a round of applause
i like the way there is a bookcase in the cockpit
nice vid luv the music
beautiful landing
just bought fsx great simulator nice video by the way

THE GODFATHER!!
Nice Landing by the way!! ;)
nice landing. i cant even fly 747s, i always fall out of the sky

umph... my stomach hurts from the rear gear impact, better check the tires! great approach!
Your computer must be insane. Nice video.
@Magicpianoteacher i'm excited for the FS11
Be more specific.
Which settings are you using on FSX?
Which graphics card do you have?
Which processor do you have?
very nice, flying by myself, music from god father's Sicilian period, but landed in Honolulu, am i right? thank u

well..first, i would like to know if u have a wireless computer? like a wi-fi?
l1998, The kind of zooming you have used, is definitly not stock game. Did you use any of the add-ons like Active Camera for FS? I too would like to get it or purchase it if need be. Kindly suggest.
How do you flare? And what does it mean? Sorry, I'm just curious.
it will run, but I would consider getting more ram.

piekne ladowanie
Just google it. It was well publicised in the FS community at the time.
@1998 thats microsoft flight if you havent read about it yet its not a simulator just flying game with some relism but limited to what fsx is
Does FSX already have "Active camera"?
woah nice song xD
Same came to my mind...
Cool, but you didn't explain what it actually is. Is it like raising the spoilers a tiny bit?
nice
longest approach ive ever seen lol
good vid 5*
how do u zoom in and out with those views?
Thanks
Yes, it does.

Where can you found Lufthansa's plane to FSX?
how do you look around the cockpit
i know this question is pretty off the subject but if u do missions and u pass them is it possible to unlock different planes?
How about the graphics ?
kind of a hard landing, but pretty good vid! :D
What airport you landed in this fly?
Hey not bad...But how much would Lufthansa have to pay in med bills for all the compacted spines? 8^D
you gave us everything except the main thing, GPU.
What's your GPU ( graphic card ) ?
hello cool video
could eneyone tell me if a core 2 dual and 2MB be go for FSX????????????????/
THANK!!!
ok, thanks! ;)
yes!
Hi trapshooter123 hey mate, how can you reply the ATC without using cursore to point on the words??how to do it?? thanks
Good video, I think is better if you put some music after 3:15
what kind of processor are you using?
Thanks for all the reply's everyone! ;)
ok thanks! ;)
hey dude what is your computer spec? It seems pretty high end ones.
what place is the scenery????
he did an ils approach?
but i think their creators will still help the next generation of flight simulators....
i hope there will be no end in FLIGHT
pmdg or default 747???
what airport is it?
@dpurdue looks like honolulu, Hawaii
im no expert at all, but i guess what people mean with "you didnt flare" is that the landing was a bit rough! Perfecty aligned beautiful flight, but that landing went KA BOIOIOIOING! pitch up just before landing to make a soft landing. It takes practice. BUt it becomes standard and almost an instinct
hey, how do u zoom in???
is it Hong Kong Intl (New)?
try lowering your framerate so it fits to your pc. do that in settings>graphics and then there should be a slider with framerate or frames per second sign...
Wow nice graphics! Very good video. You must have a 5000$
computer to run this game on this settings.^^
dude not to be mean but i just started learning about the insides of computers not that long ago and i dont really get what those initials stand for except for the CPU and i already know which kinda RAM im getting and how much of it. and i know about a graphics card but i just dont know where the power cable plugs into. is that airbus?
so ur sayin if i just get more memory, and not a better graphics card, then itll run faster but not look very good at all?
Every plane has a virtual cockpit ;)
Just press RMB and you will see.
i have the 8800gt overclocked version.. awesome :D
What does it mean if you flare?
Microsoft has closed Aces Studio, which was responsible for the development of the Flight Simulator franchise.
Actually the landing was 8/10.
hey..do you think that with two 8600 GTS SlI this game will run smooth?
well im trying to get a new graphics card but its just one thing thats confusing me. the one im trying to get has a power cord and i dont see that kinda outlet it plugs into on my motherboard
It was the autopilot. I didn't land. I was showing the graphics. If you read the title, it says FSX Beautiful not FSX Landing. I have Cessna's FL.
OK! Tháts the answer I need!

hey i just got fsx and i have a framerate prob. do u know how to fix it

this is an awesome flight simulator, too bad my computer had low graphics and had to switch to FS2004. FS2004 is also fun though.
XP is just fine, get atleast 2G of RAM. That should do the job for any future game (not for Assassins Creed). And the 7600 is prety good but it's better to get 1 from the 8 series now that they'r not so expensive any more
what computer specs do you have?
well ive got 512 ram and an nvidia 6200 on xp and its mostly ok on quite high/medium settings

how much of ram do you have?
no flare lol? ;P
have you heard of a thing called flare??
Thats why I have my realism settings at the hardest, so when i make a hard landing, my plane collapses.
I give him an 8/10 coz i know he got a crazy graphics card and PC
niiice touch down but gears out too early ! :)
ILS?
yh you click on the screen then press either + or - on your keyboard. :)
I like it. and OH hell ya it is fun when you get the yoke and pedals i dont have pedals but i have a joystick which makes the game fun. If you use the keyboard then dont get the game.
15nm ago ?
hes on an approach to land
