Wow these are so precious! This is a great idea! I would love to make my mother a prayer journal! She has stacks and stacks of them! She is 82 and will be 83 in January! She is precious and she too is a prayer warrior! That would be a great gift to her!

I am 55, and I am very sentimental. I lost my mother-in-law, six months later my husband and two aunts, 4 cousins a Granny. My son’s best friend.(He was 21. He was coming home from work that night in the rain and had a accident.) and my husband all in a 12 month period.
I cared for my father-in-law until he passed away two and a half years later. My son and I , both thought our whole world had been turned upside down. I went in Deep depression and he had anger issues. He was 18.
Luckily, when my MIL passed away; my FIL, he gave my MIL wedding ring and all her jewelry. They didn’t have a daughter. I was their daughter.
MIL made all kinds of homemade gifts. She crocheted everyone slippers for Christmas. I still have mine. Every baby born in our community would get a crocheted blanket. Homemade gifts.

I made many ceramic bowls and plates, and gave them for gifts. More often than not family would use them as ashtrays 😠 they didn’t really care about the effort I put into each piece. So frustrating, I’m the opposite I treasure handmade gifts!
I know so well what you mean and it hurts my feelings. I have sons, no DIL’s (divorces, you know) and no one, not nieces or friends daughters, even want my china or crystal or any keepsakes. It seems nothing is dear to our younger generations!

I have to share a preschool story with your sister I also teach ps in a church We also have latch key for school agers In the am I walk the school agers to their bus My littles know this One of my 3 year olds came over and showed me he had colored the whole screen of an etch a sketch "Look she she colored the whole thing Now can you put me on the bus"?
