The common bile and the pancreatic ducts unite to form ampulla vater ( hepaticopancreatic duct ) which opens into the second part of the duodenum at the major duodenal papillae and it represents a specific landmark for transition from foregut to midgut where the coeliac trunk stops supplying the gut and the superior mesentric artery takes over.
In acute catarrhal cholecysctitis which is caused by stones in the gall bladder or in bile duct or gallbladder polyps hypertrophy which indicate cholecystectomoy surgical procedure.

As the common bile duct joins the pancreatic duct to form the hepaticopancreatic duct ( ampulla of vater) which opens into the 2nd part of duodenum, there's a connection between the gallbladder and the duodenum
Jaundice in acute cholecystitis is due to reduced excretion which may be caused by pressure on the ducts by the distended gallbladder or gallstones.

There is a connection between the gallbladder and the duodenum at the point where the common bile duct joins the pancreatic duct to produce the hepaticopancreatic duct (ampulla of vater), which enters into the second half of the duodenum.
Reduced excretion in acute cholecystitis leads to jaundice, which may be brought on by gallstones or the swollen gallbladder pressing on the ducts.

It may be problem with the sphincter of Oddi which regulates the passage of bile into the second part of the duodenum.so the stone may be there.
