Had my Disco 4 for 2 years and my wife's Freelander for 18 months. Living in Australia they both get a decent work-out and we haven't had the slightest reliability problem with either of them. Disco is brilliant on or off road and tows the 3 tonne boat like it isn't there.

We happily owned a 2007 LR3 SE for 15 years and it was the nicest SUV we've ever owned ( and we owned the 1997 Discovery ! ) we love the brand and we dont buy anything else, recently we sold the LR3 and bought a LR4 pre-owned, Love it even more! why? Seating position , Features Durability, Prestige, Quality and heritage!

The 2012 year Land Rover LR4 HSE SUV is simply the Best problem free vehicle hands down.
My 2012 is colored Ipanema sand and fast. 375hp stock and 375 Foot Pounds of torx.
A 2 and 1/2 ton beast.
yes Ive had one for just over 12 months its a fantastic vehicle in every way. I have had no issues at all for reliability. treat a land rover well, services etc and dont abuse them and they will last for ever. I still have an original discovery 300tdi thats 20 odd years old and drives like its just come out of the showroom I use it in the fields on the farm or for towing the tractor out when it gets stuck! You ear people slag them off but in reality they prob never owned one and cant afford too.
Enjoyed the walk around. Very very nice specimen. Only nag is that the video camera you were using, although it took great high definition video, creaked for the entire duration of the video something awful! Might edit the video and add some light music to help offset that.

No worries mate! I bet there will be a power lift soon! Have a test drive and ask for an off road experience in it! trained by land rover you will love it! they offer them around the globe.

In the Uk The Discovery is diesel only. Hse only refers to the highest trim level
It's an awesome car! I own LR3 and use it like its supposed to - mud, snow, off-roading. For malls I have BMW 7 and 5 series. Among all three cars I drive this the most. If you don't mind the mpg and roughing her up, then get this rig. It's a smart and handsome looking car. One of the commenters here mentioned if power this and that I'll buy it - well guess what, this ain't your car and you are not suited for what it offers. Buy some lux SUV shit with all power gadgets and not real utility.
the disco 3 had heated 2nd row seats, im sure the 4 would aswell???

I drive disco 3 2008 and am thinking to buy disco 4 in 2011 but they don't add what I think it's important. The size is the same, electronic hand brake, ride quality, almost all the same except for the interior layout, start/stop ignition button, and a whole bunch of cameras. Why not put power tail gate?

To the maker of this walk around, please show the third row in more detail ie, the footwell. Most three row suvs leave occupants feeling as if they are sitting on a floor with a back rest and, this one appears to have decent seating back there.

He doesn't know how to lay down 2nd row of seats flat to the floor but managed to do the 2 Rear seats. I think the Discovery 3 is a better lay out than the 4
The disco is an awesome car, shame that they are all automatics, prefer my LR3 manual.
Yeah but electronics aren't everything! I know that Id rather cross the desert in the Landy or drive in snow, mud, or water. or even on the road! Landy all the time for me!!

From my experience, City 15 MPG and Highway 20 MPG running on 98 octane fuel with Bridgestone Blizzak LM-80 winter tyres.

Is it true this brand is the least reliable?
@Vivek Joseph My brother owned one for years and kept up to date with maintenance. The thing kept breaking, air suspension replaced, dashboard cracked, offroad issues, navigation software issues. etc.

Strange, very poor equipment, no seats memory, no motorized wheel frame, no heating of front window and chairs...
