The S was not for sport model. It was for a slide in the carburetor to limit the horsepower. Back in the day you could get a motorcycle license at 15 but they would limit it to 5 horsepower. So they put a slide in the carburetor to limit it. They did the same thing to the CL100.
This is 100% true. The S stood for slide, while all CL’s were Scramblers. The only parts that were listed deferent between the CL100 and the CL100S were the throttle valve, emblems, and the sticker on the rear arm. I found my 72’ CL100K2 in a barn with 1800 mi and restored it almost to this level. I didn’t polish the covers, but did everything else. Mine cruises easily at 35mph and can exceed 50mph in the right conditions. I weigh 165lb and it is 100% original. In case you want to check if this is still governed.
beautiful bike and preservation restoration, those early Honda engines rev to 10k and run for ever, engine sounds brand new, running like a sewing machine, god bless and protect you all
Very cool. When I was 15 my father bought me a brand new 1976 Honda TL-125. Great trials bike, my 2 friends had 1975 models. I remember what my father paid for the TL at the Dealer, it was 750.00
😈😈😈 the you've got the back highway with w humps , which get your feeling air .. the roads we have use to be flawless. .. any speed now its the surrounding highways of Sydney they were actually seigned for people to speed ... i cruised along them doing 170 km per hour ... you could be doing 300kms per hour long sweeping corners concrete with lanes big enough for 3. .. i pushed and we finally have our road back no speed limits but i wouldnt go much futher then 250 .... but sydney easly 400 ... 😈😈😈😈 must do that before i loose my sedge ...

I had the very same bike as this one. My first bike in 1974 at age 13 years old. Rode it everywhere.
I had a nice one back in 1980. It was a gold 1972 CL100S. Also had an 81 RM125X Suzuki. Great times for a 15 year old! Nice one you have there, Ken!
The year I was born. 😲🧐😎...Stunning and Rare. Rare Find! That paint job is jawdropping!

My first motorcycle as a 14 year old, removed everything that wasn't necessary and used it as a trail/enduro bike.
Buddy just got a 1984 trail 110 36 original miles here in Ct crazy
These little bikes are true design classics , so much character . But did that model not have a main /centre stand as well as a side stand ?
Used for its intended purpose...it will last forever . Honda makes great motorcycles. PK
