What's so annoying is that you had to perform in front of 2 producers to begin with to go in front of the judges right? So why is it when the "bad oens" sing in front of them, they get through & make a fuckery out of themselves on TV? X factor is so corrupt honestly.
I think the X Factor was using people like her to make it look like the show isn't a fix so that when people like Zoe complain it will be hard for people to believe them. If its not a fix, why do they allow people who can't sing to go ahead and audition in front of the judges coz even she mentioned that she met people who were allowed to proceed to the next round despite the fact that they can't sing.

This reminds me of the Black Mirror episode where they were waiting for auditions for months. It's called "Fifteen Million Merits". I recommend everyone who's thinking of going on a reality "talent" show watches it.
Even if you can sing good, if they don’t want you to succeed they’ll just auto tune you off key, give the judges an script etc. Talent shows are honestly horrible and the only people that profit off it is the talent show itself and the people running it. The contestants are just potential storylines. If you’re a child you’re going to be praised no matter what. If your a mother your story will always be a, ‘mother’s can do it too’ storyline. If you’re a hopeful teenager, preferably a POC, you’ll get an emotional but inspiring storyline. Basically the producers will want the contestants who resemble the mainstream audience to succeed, vicarious-ness and all that. And anyone who doesn’t fit that agenda, or if they don’t have a family friendly, brand quirk, like Tape Face with his lol funny tape covering his mouth how quirky (no disrespect to the actual person he’s just an example) If you want to become famous, please try another route, talent shows can ruin your lives just as easily as they can make you famous.
Wow this was very interesting to watch I've watched x factor for 10 years now and I think it's the first time I've ever seen a contestant document their journey and be so open and honest about it it is such a shame you didn't get further than the first live show as you really are a fantastic talent with a brilliant voice and popstar image come to think of when I was 16 I auditioned in Dublin for it as I'm Irish and made it to the 3rd producer round audition and recall the day being really long was it worth it maybe but seeing this really makes me want to go for it again as i have been singing since the age of 10 and also enjoy dancing
each to their own... but i can say having gone through the audition process myself back in 08 it is all VERY planned and choreographed FOR tv and for entertainment purposes.....

The first and only audition should be in front of the Judges, not the producers, the producers should just be there to produce the show and assist everyone within the site. How can a producer judge singing, when the real artists and famous music managers are the ones who know the most about singing, stage presence and performance.
I wouldn’t necessarily say just because you did it and you had a good experience doesn’t mean it’s not a fix and everyone who’s watching this should go try it because everyone has different experiences and everyone is treated different someone people (like you) are hand picked to have a good storyline and be successful others are handpicked to look like an idiot to bring drama to the show. You even said it yourself they had bad singers from round 1 make it to round 2 that should tell you right there that it’s a fix they’re purposely keeping bad singers on making them think they’re great so when it’s time to go on and audition they look like fools and embarrass themselves and make the show funny.

I get that this "proves" it's not a "fix" due to the girl actually being able to sing, the process etc etc...but, the thing that's not addressed is how in the hell do the tragically bad acts actually get past these pre-stages in order to get to the stage before the main judges, if they have no talent or cannot sing? This just proves the exploitation of potentially scarring some poor bastard/s into thinking they have a shot, only to then shoot them down, get booed off etc etc. they should just stick to this kind of process with people who CAN sing or have potential. Exactly my thoughts as well...I concider myself to be a pretty decent singer,but still wouldn't audition for the X factor.It would of been a total waste of time,love performing but my voice is closer to average than great,and that's simply not good enough...I can't help feeling sorry for some of the deluted performers,& I didn't like the fact that ppl.were laughing behind their back already during the audition process..And how come their friends/family/classmates/Co-workers don't tell them the truth,if you really care about someone you don't want them to be made fool of in front of thousands of ppl.or more...I also think some of them get paid to look/act a certain way...Probably picked up at karaoke bars or so just for the show.Simon Cowell is first and foremost a business man.Did any of the ppl he signed get a star at the Hollywood walk of fame BTW... 🤔Like him or despice him.In many ways,he comes out as the winner of this show at the end of the day.

I'm surprised after all these years people still think it's about finding talent. I mean sure people do make it but it's rare when you look over long decades and I mean since I have been alive and I'm 46. Even star search etc it's first a TV show then if more comes that's icing on the cake for them. No disrespect of course but it is what it is and that's life. If you do it then just take it for that and enjoy your time if you're going to get famous and become a star in your field then that's great but the likelihood is pretty bleek when you think of all the talent they've produced and so many hate they got their start from their because depending on each show depends on how long you've got to remain silent or do promotions for them. It's always about the bottom line, money. That's pretty much the life in general with any business.
Yeah...timeline makes NO SENSE. She complained about a wave of ppl stepping in front of her...after being there since 6:30am... and magically nobody else said a thing?! So she gets moved to the front and sees the producers 20 mins later. (what?!) What happened to the people next to her on the queue? How lucky of her to go complain to a producer...who didn't even tell her who he was right then and there! Even if she was given her rightful queue spot...this producers, who are just wondering around the venue, saw 149 acts in how long?! a little more than 20 mins? Thank you for uploading this. This was fascinating. Can you illuminate me as regards the process of selecting a song to sing at the judge's audition. Any audition at that stage (i.e - one that might be televised) would face copyright clearance issues as regards the song in question, so I presume there are some restrictions. I have been told (though from an unreliable source) that contestants are given a list of about 200 songs they can sing, but sometimes if somebody if a contestant makes a special request to sing a particular song, they may go out of their way to get copyright clearance for that song. I don't know if that is true though. I've also heard numerous stories of contestants being 'pushed' into singing a particular song by the producers. Whatever the truth, sadly the same songs (with identical backing tracks) are used time & time again series after series. Where do these backing tracks come from ? Who makes them ? What I loved about your judge's audition was you sang "I Put A Spell On You" (one of my favourite songs) and you brought a version on USB, so presumably it wasn't a backing track provided by the show's producers. Where did you get that backing track from ? Interestingly, I've only heard one other person sing this song at a televised audition, and she used a backing track that had a completely different arrangement (one that was identical to the Screaming Jay Hawkins version).

Thanks for replying. I have no intention of applying for The X Factor as I am not a singer (though I am a musician). It is my favourite TV show though, and I find it fascinating, as it focuses intensely on the human voice (which is the ultimate instrument). Yes, some people have a great experience with it, and some people not so much, but that is the same with any aspect of the music industry. P.S - I'm still intrigued as to where your backing track for "I Put A Spell On You" came from (especially as the arrangement is different from any other version I've heard). Do the show's producers contract people to record backing tracks, or did you get this from a different source ?

I think the people who are suggesting that you should go on a staged "reality" television talent contest are asking the wrong question. They should be asking: "if you have the talent, and a following, why don't you start your own record label?"

She made it to the live shows, and for the record, many people budded in front of her in the line. 6:57 "Three hours"? lol, more like nine hours. Believe me; I know. I've been there myself, and I've seen and experienced enough to tell anybody reading this that it's all a big con. They tell you to be there for silly o' clock in the morning, so by the time they actually start filming around mid-morning, they have a huge crowd of thousands of obedient sheep that will do anything the directors and producers tell them to do in order to please the cameras. Chances are, most of the production crew are still in bed at 06:00, when you're standing outside an empty arena in any kind of weather like a right tooI. They want the people watching at home to think that someone in that crowd of thousands will be the next winner on the X Factor, when most, if not all of them, won't even make it on to the TV (except maybe in the wide shots of the crowds, that is... which is all they want you there for anyway.)
Firstly all the xfactor crew were there at 6am when I arrived walking up and down the que. Secondly.. I made the finals .. so it IS possible you could be that person.

Exactly my thoughts as well...I concider myself to be a pretty decent singer,but still wouldn't audition for the X factor.It would of been a total waste of time,love performing but my voice is closer to average than great,and that's simply not good enough...I can't help feeling sorry for some of the deluted performers,& I didn't like the fact that ppl.were laughing behind their back already during the audition process..And how come their friends/family/classmates/Co-workers don't tell them the truth,if you really care about someone you don't want them to be made fool of in front of thousands of ppl.or more...I also think some of them get paid to look/act a certain way...Probably picked up at karaoke bars or so just for the show.Simon Cowell is first and foremost a business man.Did any of the ppl he signed get a star at the Hollywood walk of fame BTW... 🤔Like him or despice him.In many ways,he comes out as the winner of this show at the end of the day.

People like Ian Brown of The Stone Roses, for example, not an amazing singer but charisma and song writing and having a brain in creation and the likes has made people like him excel in the music industry...and some are just whores of the industry who suck-ass to get to where they are.
The music industry in the mainstream capacity (I mean major mainstream) is tainted to hell. People sell their souls, and may get riches in return but they pay for that later in life. Money is not the cure to everything, like we are led to believe...and that holds up in this time we are going through where money will become a thing of the past very shortly.

I'm surprised after all these years people still think it's about finding talent. I mean sure people do make it but it's rare when you look over long decades and I mean since I have been alive and I'm 46. Even star search etc it's first a TV show then if more comes that's icing on the cake for them. No disrespect of course but it is what it is and that's life. If you do it then just take it for that and enjoy your time if you're going to get famous and become a star in your field then that's great but the likelihood is pretty bleek when you think of all the talent they've produced and so many hate they got their start from their because depending on each show depends on how long you've got to remain silent or do promotions for them. It's always about the bottom line, money. That's pretty much the life in general with any business.

Yeah...timeline makes NO SENSE. She complained about a wave of ppl stepping in front of her...after being there since 6:30am... and magically nobody else said a thing?! So she gets moved to the front and sees the producers 20 mins later. (what?!) What happened to the people next to her on the queue? How lucky of her to go complain to a producer...who didn't even tell her who he was right then and there! Even if she was given her rightful queue spot...this producers, who are just wondering around the venue, saw 149 acts in how long?! a little more than 20 mins? Because she said she got in and just sat there not thinking she had to run... I call BS.

Emely YXOL You have to be in a girl group already. They will not arrange a group for you. You act has to be already developed if you want to succeed.

Thank you for uploading this. This was fascinating. Can you illuminate me as regards the process of selecting a song to sing at the judge's audition. Any audition at that stage (i.e - one that might be televised) would face copyright clearance issues as regards the song in question, so I presume there are some restrictions. I have been told (though from an unreliable source) that contestants are given a list of about 200 songs they can sing, but sometimes if somebody if a contestant makes a special request to sing a particular song, they may go out of their way to get copyright clearance for that song. I don't know if that is true though. I've also heard numerous stories of contestants being 'pushed' into singing a particular song by the producers.
Whatever the truth, sadly the same songs (with identical backing tracks) are used time & time again series after series. Where do these backing tracks come from ? Who makes them ?
What I loved about your judge's audition was you sang "I Put A Spell On You" (one of my favourite songs) and you brought a version on USB, so presumably it wasn't a backing track provided by the show's producers. Where did you get that backing track from ?
Interestingly, I've only heard one other person sing this song at a televised audition, and she used a backing track that had a completely different arrangement (one that was identical to the Screaming Jay Hawkins version).

Thanks for replying. I have no intention of applying for The X Factor as I am not a singer (though I am a musician). It is my favourite TV show though, and I find it fascinating, as it focuses intensely on the human voice (which is the ultimate instrument). Yes, some people have a great experience with it, and some people not so much, but that is the same with any aspect of the music industry.
P.S - I'm still intrigued as to where your backing track for "I Put A Spell On You" came from (especially as the arrangement is different from any other version I've heard). Do the show's producers contract people to record backing tracks, or did you get this from a different source ?
As somebody who is working in the "music industry", I also am interested in WHO is making the backing tracks for X Factor contestants, and what the "deal" is with them. Can you elaborate on this issue please ?

She made it to the live shows, and for the record, many people budded in front of her in the line. No matter how patient you may be, I don’t think anyone finds it fair to have people bud in front of you in line. She did make it far in the competition though, so your assumption was wrong. Don’t judge a book by its cover when you don’t know the full context.

When her chair was replaced in the 6-chair challenge, the entire crowd started chanting, demanding she receives her seatback. This typically does not happen to unlikable people...

Believe me; I know. I've been there myself, and I've seen and experienced enough to tell anybody reading this that it's all a big con. They tell you to be there for silly o' clock in the morning, so by the time they actually start filming around mid-morning, they have a huge crowd of thousands of obedient sheep that will do anything the directors and producers tell them to do in order to please the cameras. Chances are, most of the production crew are still in bed at 06:00, when you're standing outside an empty arena in any kind of weather like a right tooI. They want the people watching at home to think that someone in that crowd of thousands will be the next winner on the X Factor, when most, if not all of them, won't even make it on to the TV (except maybe in the wide shots of the crowds, that is... which is all they want you there for anyway.)
Firstly all the xfactor crew were there at 6am when I arrived walking up and down the que.
Secondly.. I made the finals .. so it IS possible you could be that person.
