If they had mutual friends, why didn’t the friend or friends notice the striking similarities? They look almost identical! So happy for them, I hope they can forge an unbreakable bond and perhaps even find more siblings.

Same thing happened in my life. Did a dna test to find old pictures of my grandparents on both side I have never met. Instead found out my father of 58 years is not my father. My biological father died in 2006 8 years before I found out. He died from afib and I have afib. I have 13 half siblings on my moms side and 5 half on my fathers side. I have met my dads kids . It is a blessing 8 years down the road after 6 years of therapy but it is not a joke not funny. Parents need to be honest with their kids. This almost took me out and my mother died a year later . I have been through a lot in my life but by far the most devastating lie ever.

It's sad and I'm sorry you had to go through that and not even have closure being that your biological father died and you never had the opportunity to meet him. Then your mother passing a year after you discover the mystery that she would have taken to the grave had you not found those old pictures.
I pray that they Lord help you and comfort and you find inner peace and love in Christ Jesus. As in moments like this I'd run to seek refuge in his arms where I'm free to be a little girl and express my vulnerability and I know He can satisfy the longing of my sould and heal the broken pieces of my life. I pray you too can find that in Him

I'm glad the truth finally came out, it always does! I hope you have been able to heal from that trauma and I'm sorry you never got to meet your biological father, it's cool you have more siblings than you thought! When I was 12 my parents went through a divorce, my mother then told me her and my father used a sperm donor to conceive me. It shattered my whole entire vision of myself. I love my dad more than anything but I have been debating for years whether or not to purchase a DNA kit to see if maybe I could scratch the curiosity that's always itched inside of me since the day I was told the truth.
Hope you are doing well Hun, sending light positivity and love your way 🌞💛

Yeah, I think a lot of people would like to know. As a parent myself, I am guessing that the the biological parents would have had to endure a lifetime of guilt and hoping/praying that 'Stephanie' was placed in a good home, with loving parents, and was in good health. TH-cam has a lot of videos of these kind of stories under the title: Long Lost Family. There are episodes from multiple seasons from this popular tv program. There are at least 3 different versions; UK, USA and Australia.

@Magic World - I see that no one is going to tell you this but THERE is a difference between the words ”they’re”, “their” and “there”. “They’re” is the same thing as saying “they are” which is what you should’ve used (example: I know that THEY’RE sisters but are they sure that THEY’RE not twins?). The word you used (their) is when you’re referring to something that belongs to someone else. Like,”their faces are almost the same.”). I’m only telling you this because if you continue to move through life making this error, No one may say anything to you about it but on some level they will come to believe or treat you as if you’re uneducated.

I found a sibling on ancestry DNA, and I absolutely regret doing it. She's one of the worst human beings that I met. She sucked me dry for all of my money, and when I wouldn't give her any more, she posted a whole bunch of defamatory statements about me online. I got completely sucked in based off of our shared DNA and she won hundred percent took advantage of me because of how poor of a childhood she had. I didn't have the most ideal childhood either, but I didn't use it as an excuse to victimize anybody else. I'm sure it worked out for a lot of people, but it's one of my biggest regrets in life

That’s not always case I’m a genealogist and the number of families with 2-3-4 kids who have an unplanned pregnancy are more likely to give the baby up often without ever seeing them believing it would be easier .
It’s rarely no different although it’s the lesser of two evils.
Although now a days her mom would probably abort her . The irony of abortion existing at the same time childless couples are going all over the world to adopt is crazy. For some reason giving up a child for adoption is looked at as worse than killing that child .

Sophi Richman Fletcher I’m adopted. Not trauma. Have a wonderful family. Please don’t speak for others.

Well, look at the bright side.....you could have been aborted but your birth mother gave you life instead. Please be grateful

If you aren't an Adoptee, don't even bother commenting. Would you tell someone to be grateful if they lost their entire family in some sort of disaster? Of course not. Then why expect them to be grateful for losing their entire identity--family resemblance, medical history, genetic makeup, and getting a falsified birth certificate-- be grateful to live your life with strangers, to live their lie for you? Separation from the one who carried us is in itself *trauma.* This is finally being recognized by some mental health professionals. If your adoptive parents treated you well and provided for you, that's good. But believe me when I tell you, that is not true of many adoptees. Educate yourself by reading The Primal Wound by Nancy Verrier PhD, and The Adoptee Survival Guide (available on Amazon). Do not put adoption and abortion in the same sentence. It's apples and oranges. Come out of the fog and ask yourself, Who am I, really?

@@sophirichmanfletcher4657 I am a birth mother. I have had contact with my son for the past 7 years. So I am no stranger to the struggles.
Obviously, nothing is perfect....not even being born and raised by your birth parents. Its called life. We as human beings need to be more grateful in life and maybe we'll start to see there' s more good than we realize. I started small...."thank you Lord for this cup of coffee, this beautiful sun rise etc.," My gratefulness grew from there. Yours will too if you try. In turn you will be happier
