It looks like you don't put any water in that instant pot -- is that accurate? Because don't you need steam in this process?

Put in just enough water to cover the bottom of the pot and that's it.

Do I need a pressure cooker or can I just get them warm on say a 3d printer bed ( heats up to 110

After doing a lot of experimentation, I would say that the heat has to be a tad bit higher than that. Some opt for the pressure cooker but you can also use a conventional oven for about 20 minutes if you bake them at around 400-450 degrees..

Does this work to remove the resin paint on the inside of the can? (asking before I buy a pressure cooker)

This process allows you to remove the ink and logos from the outside surface of the can. From what I know of beverage can structure, the inside is lined with some type of spray coating of epoxy lacquer or polymer to protect the aluminum from being corroded by acidic contents such as carbonated beverages. I can't say with any certainty how the pressure cooker method impacts the inner surface of the can, but I do know that the process does not impact the ability of the can to adhere to other cans.

@@sodacanmodels I am working on a project and need chemically pure aluminium. Must be aluminium from cans as its a recycling project. My bad, the epoxy coating on the inside, not resin.

@@juniordouw6681 Removing the inner lining completely would weaken the can or make it unusable altogether from what I've seen in videos of chemical use. So I would think that repeated baking in the pressure cooker would be about as close as one could get without altering the can structure to the point its no longer stable.

The cans are coated with a varnish before and after the printing process. The heat and steam break down the varnish, just like a hot paper plate of food on grandmas dining room table.

The inside is plastic coating. Try acetone to remove it.
