The artwork of Roy Huxley... immortal and timeless... so very true... the same goes for many other plastic models... what survives is the oil painting for the box art
Very good video . The 60's and 70's were a great time to be a kid and collecting , assembling and painting models was an important part of that . As a sidenote l have been buying the Revell reissues of these classic little kits and as a 70 year old still retain the same excitment and enthusiasm for them l had in the past . Happy days and memories . (loved Airfix kits too brought with my pocket money from our local Woolworth . )
Building plastic models IS cool.....just sayin. 😂 Thanks for the return to the '70s and '80s, I enjoyed building a lot of these kits and flicking through the catalogues until they were worn through. Sad that they are mostly gone now, a few have been released under the Revell label though. Roy Huxley's artwork was sensational, certainly sold me on more than a few kits! Thanks for sharing, really enjoyed this.
I LOVED these tank diarama kits as a kid in the 70s. I'm starting to collect them again while some still exist. Six down so far. Sadly, eBay shipping to Australia is crippling so I buy what I can when money allows.
@@codebasher1 they are cool kits. I know what you mean about shipping from other countries. There are a lot of diecast cars that are so cheap in Europe but shipping is the killer.
Loved your video, Bob. Will be looking for that Roy Huxley book too. Have the silver King Tiger still as as well as the golden Sherman and the middle green metalic M553 Sheridan, hahahah. Only the Chieftain and self propelled Gun have "normal" colors it seems. Slowely recollecting the Matchbox armour kits through reissue and have refound some of their planes too.
Thank you. I needed a lift today which your nice comment provided. The only battle kings I have is The tanker (like the Texaco K16) I hope you have a great week. Thanks again. Bob
Matchbox my favourite kits.....l wish they could be reintroduced....and the ROY HUXLEY artwork is top-drawer....

Nice film 😊 I certainly had some of those kits as a kid in the 70s, in the UK. Good, less complicated, times. 😊
Thanks for watching. I agree about the 70s. 😀👍🏻
Loved Matchbox kits for the fact they offered unusual subjects, like the Krupp Boxer and the Wespe. For 1/72 they were super detailed.
Fun kits for sure. 👍🏻
Happy days , thanks for sharing
Happy times , thanks for watching!😀
Negli anni 70 erano e sono i miei modelli preferiti, stupendi!!
I like most things made by Matchbox. 😊
Had the Wespe and the Sd Kfz 251, possibly my favourite kit as a kid. The dioramas were inspiring and led to much larger efforts!
I do like those German half tracks!

Neat tank Bob. Ever see McQ or Brannigan with John Wayne?
I love both of those movies! Which is the one where he goes to London? That one is really good. What made you think of those?
@@bobsworkshop5181 don’t know. Brannigan is the one where he goes to London.
