Aldaris was always the good guy. Heretics like Zeratul and Tassadar are why Aiur was conquered to begin with. Artanis, the king of the heretics, then has the audacity to speak to Karax, a phase-smith, like he was an equal of a Templar, despite being in different castes. Absolutely degenerate state of affairs, Aldaris is better off dead than living to see what has become of the Protoss
I think its a little funny that in broodwar Zeratul never curses Kerrigan further for killing Aldaris who was right all along. I think Aldaris is a very strong character because he represents the tradition of the Protoss society and even he admits he was wrong in treating the dark templar badly however he was 100% right about Kerrigan from the start due to his instincts that were trained into him and the Protoss suffered as a result of his loss as well as dismissing him so casually. One thing SC2 just completely ignored is that there was a templar caste that followed Aldaris and likely remnants of the conclave who were more senior than Artanis.

Speaking of which, had Kerrigan indeed died here, the New Overmind might have won the entire war… Without Kerrigan's help, the Protoss may not have managed to gather their crystals - especially the Khalis, which they only managed to obtain because Kerrigan was controlling some of the Zerg defending it. As a result, Daggoth's swarms wouldn't get massacred on Shakuras (Protoss mission 8), and the Protoss might actually be wiped out (as the mission seems to imply would eventually happen without the temple's superweapon). With the entire swarm now loyal to him, and not busy fighting the Protoss, Daggoth would certainly be able to defeat the UED… And the story would end with a true Zerg victory.

Kerrigan should have worked for Raynor's trust in HotS instead of Raynor doing a 180 from Brood War and suddenly simping for Kerrigan. Apparently Kerrigan was also supposed to gain the respect of the Protoss on Kaldir, but that part got scrapped, making the plot even more wasted potential
Her redeemption arc was weird. On one side they absolve everything she did as the queen of blades by saying she doesn´t remmber, then they have her go on a killing spree murdering protoss colonist and Warfield, only to stop because of Raynor. She was kinda the biggest simp in the game at the end.
Lately I discovered Aldaris shares voice actor with Ben 10 mentor character Granpa Max. So... if we won't space speaking role we got more material to use.
