Back in 1986, I was six years old when my mother asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I told her that I wanted to be James Bond. She laid into me, how could I want to grow up and be some guy to sleeps around with lots of women? Did I just want to spend my life drinking and carousing with women all night? Again, keep in mind that I was six years old. Now, at 42, the answer is obviously, yes.

I just began rewatching a lot of Bond movies last week, to get up-to-speed again. The scheme of Dr No seriously confused me..
The goal was simply to use radiation to interfere with an American space mission (rocket launch), in order to give the space mission advantage to USSR, right?!

The Empire Strikes Back was made with minimal involvement from George Lucas, so it was more of an Irvin Kershner and Gary Kurtz movie than it was a George Lucas movie. They, along with the actors, even had to change a lot of the script onset in order to make the movie work properly.

The original James Bond movies actor is CARY GRANT.
He was the main candidate for James Bond in Dr No.
Grant was an old FRIEND of Albert R Broccoli and attended his wedding. The best man.
Roger Moore was also thought of as a BOND in Dr No.
They could NOT spend almost all the money to buy Roger Moore free from the TV contract.
By then there had been no Bond films. Then they waited and checked if Moore was available several times. 1961 1964 1967 1968 and 1972 when he got the role of BOND for the second time. Only debuted in the movies. Not like BOND 007.
That's one of the few more reasons why Moore first played James Bond 007 in Mainly Millicent on television in 1964. Moore is an old FRIEND of Christopher Lee.
Lee and Ian Fleming are in the same family. That's one of the few more reasons why ALBERT R BROCCOLI was an actor in his Bond films. The Spy who love me and Moonraker IMDB AND Wikipedia.

I thoroughly enjoyed this video. It's my most favorite bond Sir Sean Connery. He is the perfect bond and shall remain so in my memory till I live. Of course I liked his other roles too.. A Woman of Straw The Man who would be The King, The Rock.. 👍
Thanks for sharing this video 👌

You wouldn't think that the writer of chitty chitty bang bang would go on to write bond books LoL so diverse, but then again Fleming was a strange character to say the least.

I never perceived that makeup was used to create an ethnic Oriental (nowadays 'Asian') effect. I always perceived that the characters were of mixed ancestry or were characters played that way using "ethnic makeup" especially the female referred to. The well traveled, upper classes would mix occasionally with Orientals (far eastern) so I simply always accepted that these were people from that world. Also, they may have supposed to have been products of WW2 births (soldiers and local Orientals etc) employed by powerful parties for their mixed ancestry. To me it's obvious the female actress is genuinely of mixed ancestry. The male actor may be simply wearing makeup and creating the effect of being Asian. This effect worked with the show Kung Fu using David Carradine and this may be because his father was English actor John Carridine and his mother an Irish actress and he may have had a slightly EurAsian look due to hidden ancestry or passed down from Scandinavians in Britain/Ireland who sometimes retain a Saami or Mongolian look. The actor in Dr No creating this effect should not be offensive as unlike Blackface, this was as common as Russian Jews playing Native Americans in old westerns, simply because their Arctic Indigenous ancestry was Eurasian enough to make it believable with some makeup. Oriental Asians were not regularly seen in movies at this time especially in leads in film and become more acceptable with the Bruce Lee era etc with some exception of course. It's moreso that it's a product of it's time. It should be viewed this way.

      Inside Bond movies documentary
The original James Bond movies actor is CARY GRANT.

I was becoming a teenager when the 007 craze hit. We all dreamed of being secret agents like him. I remember the Bond toys at Woolworths like the attaché case he carried in From Russia with Love, the toy Austin Martin from GoldFinger and other Bond weapons. My buddies and I laughed when Honor Blackman said her name was Pussy Galore and Bond said, 'he must be dreaming.

Many thanks for a wonderful documentary.
I'm a veteran, died in the wool, purist Bond fan, for whom Ursula Andress emerging from the waves was a formative erotic experience, and who only recognises the Connery years up to Thunderball as being truly authentic, although I have a soft spot for Lazenby's alpine outing.
As Alan Partridge famously said, 'Stop getting Bond wrong!' , reference to a British comedy character, that might be lost on American viewers.

You forgot to mention the Ford MUSTANG used in Goldfinger. Many people went to this movie just to see the Mustang. Ford couldn't manufacture enough of them. Also, in the novel Honey Ryder came out of the water naked.. That would have been some scene to see.

What can be considered "non pc"by some people makes these movies refreshing to watch. The same goes with the "stereotypical" broads and minority figures; because stereotypes, negative or positive, are no lies but crude depictions at most and, as such, has a place because movies tend to become tediously long if a vast set of characters has to have a background that panders to the enlightened ones in the audience.

Those "Gun Barrel Logo" shots are interesting to me in a way because you can compare the ergonomics of the shooters. Some look very quick and efficient and some look very awkward and clumsy. That may seem like simple choreography but in offensive and defensive combat maneuvers, such details can make a very critical difference. My two cents worth, anyway, just a thought.
