For those that don’t know, if you are not Puerto Rican or of Puerto Rican descent, and you make Puerto Rico your permanent residence by residing on the island for at least half the year, you are exempt from paying Capital Gains taxes on investments. You pay taxes on other income, but for people with a lot of wealth and investment income, not paying capital gains enables the wealthy to invest in stocks and crypto more profitably. While other traders must pay capital gains, these wealthy new residents, don’t pay a cent and can buy and sell freely thus optimizing their investments.
Edit: There are caveats that let Puerto Ricans benefit if they setup businesses that export services. I was not aware of this.

Bianca. You should consider doing a video on Puerto Rico’s financial control board. Aside from PR’s recent natural disasters as well as the consequences of the recent pandemic, the single costliest event in the island’s modern history has to be the reckless government management practices that led to a federal oversight group that seeks to make PR bond debt holders whole by means of fiscal austerity policies. Unpopular but in place for several years now, this event has led to a massive brain drain as well as a complete forfeit of what little national political sovereignty PR had. Today, it is irrelevant who you vote for on the island, given that politicians have almost zero decision making power in lieu of this board.

I'm a "jíbaro" born and raised in the southern slopes of el Yunque. I agree, Puerto Rico looks like a third-world country. I wish the people who live in the island would see it as well and do more to get rid of the garbage, overgrown grass, broken sidewalks, abandoned buildings, graffiti, decrepit infrastructure, unreliable utilities, loud noises and disorderly traffic. We all deserve a high standard of living, but it doesn't come automatically, it has to be worked upon. Unfortunately, many structures for business, living, or infrastructure in the island look neglected, becoming eyesores. Hopefully, the rich that are coming down will help with the cleaning.

In Puerto Rico the government has the necessary financing and we all pay enough taxes, we are far from being a tax haven. That that we are being displaced from our country is a populist discourse without validation, and we have equality before the law, less segregated impossible. If Logan Paul or anyone else wants to come to Puerto Rico, they are free to do so, I don't see the problem in it as long as it respects the law. We must stop being involved in the lives of others.

This is why gentrification is such a sore topic for many. You have neighborhoods that are usually minority majority.
Theyve built up the sense of community and character of these areas. You'll have around 50% who own and 50% who rent.
As the neighborhood becomes a hot commodity after being ignored by local government and big buisness.
You'll have outsiders who get the benefit of the doubt in society such as better loan rates and more disposable income buying up the property which they can afford 2-6xs more elsewhere but they are predatory in your neighborhood.
You'll get " karens" moving in being uptight about things people in the area never took issue with like families enjoying weekend get togethers with music, bbq, etc.
We also see a issue with private equity firms buying up properties and pricing americans out forcing so many to be life time renters.

Yes people are being pushed out! Just indirectly. Since we are 2nd class citizens only second class citizens should be allowed to live in PR, let the tourist buy in area metro

Here we go again with a distorted view of this subject..(gentrification.). Many of the millionaires that live in Dorado beach are Puerto Rican..you forgot to put that in your video..yes there are Americans that are taking advantage of tax laws (act 60) however Puerto Rico has had tax incentives since the 60"s...this is nothing New...the same way any rich Puerto Rican can live in an all white neighbor hood..in the states..its not a crime..News flash...Blanca Graulau..

Look, the "karen complaints"need to stop already. Let them move in. The more people you bring there the more money comes in to jump start that economy thats in shambles right now. This will bring in more jobs more infrastruture to support the local community. Think about it 🤔
