My Zebra LP2844 was manufactured January 2005, I have dropped it down a flight of stairs (twice!), and bought it from Goodwill for $7.99 6 years ago... and it is still pushing out labels on a daily basis. I have a variation that has a auto cutter on the front that I haven't seen on many of these. I use it for eBay, Etsy, and Amazon FBA shipments (including the individual item labels, which I just print 5-6x at a time and cut them out with scissors). Works with Pirate Ship and Google Cloud so I will use my iPhone to print labels to the Zebra. It is hands down the most reliable thing in my life.

That's a good price for a dymo. Sniped it! That's the only way I can recommend the dymo is used under $100. Totally overpriced new with the label changing problem, no off switch, cheap build and proprietary labels. 🙌

I just realised it will work with Royal Mail's bulk mailing system which, in turn, integrates with eBay - no more need to keep loads of stamp types in stock for overseas orders! I knew of Zebra as my father had a printing business that had some of the large commercial machines. Those machines had millions of impressions on them, so I knew how reliable their stuff is but I had no idea they made a small one like this! So glad I found your videos before buying a cheap Chinese knock off. 😊

LP2844 undefeated in 2022. I own four of them. Can still get them on eBay for $50. Made in USA quality, can't find that anymore. A couple of mine are 20 years old, and they are good for another 20 years.
I just bought this exact printer (refurbished) off a reputable seller on eBay and as far as printing USPS labels, (like in you video) it's perfect however, I sell postcards using the eBay standard envelope system and for that, the label must print in a landscape format (as apposed to portrait) and I'm having trouble figuring out how to flip the orientation so that the bar code prints landscape in the same direction as the label (which is also landscape.) Any help you can give me would be appreciated.
eBay...it took 4 days and no bidding, I just checked like several times a day like 5 times a day. Don’t even bother with Amazon. I found one a few days ago in OfferUp for 75. It sounds obvious but when doing OfferUp but go from low to high and just send a message even if they haven’t been active for like a year they might still reply. Look also on at letgo.

When I saw this video my jaw dropped. I was the original molder of these. We were in Ventura, CA and Eltron was in Camarillo, CA These were really nice molds, although we didn't make them. The body parts were precolored ABS, the dome was smoke Acrylic, some of the interior parts were Acetal. Zebra has a free program, "Designer 3" that makes excellent product labels. My problem is making labels for UPS and FedEx. I don't ship enough to mess with UPS Worldship, I just use the Web based method and I get a decent label, not perfect. However, with FedEx the label is really marginal. Does anyone have a lead on a FedEx label solution. The ideas I've seen where you make a PDF is too much work if you want to make a dozen label shipment.
@@thecollegepicker Yes I am. I have accounts and use the websites. The default for both companies is to print letter size labels on plain paper and put them in a pouch. A lot of extra work vs. labels. Eltron was an interesting story. The Engineers and Managers all came out of Wangtech (?) together and hit the ground running. When they got the Eltron account it really took off. The style designs were done at RKS Design in Thousand Oaks, CA.
I just upgraded my office with 1000's of dollars in modern equipment. But my FAVORITE purchase was an old used Zebra ZP450 thermal printer. Out of all that stuff the Zebra makes me smile everytime I use it. I know...weird. lol

Hi . yes you can use these on a mac. The driver you will use to install is a epl2 and when it prints it may look slightly out of focus but as long as the labels still scan you are good to go. Video to come soon.

I bought one used but it kept messing up labels at random. Splitting them in half. I calibrated, downloaded the drivers from seagull?, Used Microsoft edge. And still kept messing up
I purchase one a couple of years ago. I had a lot of trouble finding a way to download the software. I had to download it twice until it worked. I am not software savvy. The printer worker for a while and then just stopped working. I have been hesitant about tossing it out and I am glad I didn't. I still have it and would like to find the right software to download. Would you be able to help me find the right software for windows 10? TIA
In the video it looks like you are printing .pdf on the macbook print. Is that correct? Are you using a .pdf workaround or are there drivers for Mac OS?
Does anyone know whether you can print custom addresses on those labels? Like for example two simple addresses on one sticker then cut it in half with scissors?
Of course you can :) You can use Zebras own label design software or just something like Word. If you dont want the size of a 4x6 label you can just buy smaller labels :)
I use a HP m15w wireless laser printer 🖨 through bluetooth or wifi. I love it for many reasons. I like that its small does not take too much space. That it does not use that much ink it only prints in black. Ink cartridges for it are cheap to buy on ebay. And that I can set it up and use it to print anything using only my iPhone no laptop or computer needed or required. I like that I can use it to print anything other than just shipping labels like the thermo printers. With the HP phone app I can easily make copies of anything using my iPhone or any smartphone!
When buying from Ebay is it better to choose refurbished or used or it doesn't matter? I'm currently wanting to buy one but never shopped on ebay. Is there a specific seller you prefer?

I have the Zebra LP2844 I have calibrated it for the 4x6 labels but I am having problem with printing my labels the are to far to the right and part of the information is getting cut off . How do I adjust the width or get it to be centered?
Do you use the media guides? The small black things holding on to the labels. The small black things that Eric puts the labels in between at 3:17 in this video.. You can use the little blue/green wheel to the right to make them open/close
Hey, As Eric said in one of his latest videos, he got one of these for 25$ shipped the other day, so you just have to keep your eyes open. Think he have found like 4-5 the latest weeks for the same prices. They are often sold as "broken" but fully working after som testing.
I bought a LP2844 because of your video and I'm thankful. Just one question. I use it with a Mac and the labels are printing really light. Do you know a fix for that? I've looked around and all the solutions i see are for windows users.
What's up man, yes there is a setting in Mac. I have a video about Rollo install on Mac and info over the settings in that, ignore the rest of the video. Hope it helps
These were extremely high end, expensive label printers back in the day. We used them at Best Buy when I worked there for lots of different things. These are a steal now... no reason to be spending $200 on a wifi label maker. Zebra is a pro brand... the same printers Amazon and Walmart are using in their warehouses. Unfortunately since more and more people are starting ecommerce businesses, prices of all these types of printers on eBay are going up! Still cheaper than a new one though.

I've had nothing but issues with mine over the past 6 months. Bought used off ebay for like 70 bucks. Consistently prints off axis, half the time the printer isn't even recognized by the computer. I've downloaded the latest drivers and held down the feed button while powering on/Off to calibrate but I continue to have issues. Any ideas?
Just got the Zebra LP2844-Z version for really cheap, paid 15$ including shipping. I think it's a steel lol. It's tested and works, i'm really excited to try it :D When do you think your "install LP2844 printer with windows" will be up on the channel? I will probably need some tips to get it working! I would try www.zebra.com/us/en/support-downloads/knowledge-articles/zebra-setup-utilities--configuring-printer-settings.html and adjust darkness. How old and how long have you had it? Print head could be going own and need to be changed if it's been through hundreds of thousands of prints.
I've had 2 ...for the last 12 years . 1 is badged Eltron it's that old. they have NEVER gone wrong. sometimes the drivers need a little tweaking. but the printers are built like tanks .I've dropped mine .still work. best business investment I've made.
These printers are cool because they dont require ink, which is expensive. Large companies use Zebra printers too... like Costco because they are well made and reliable. I have one on my desk at my day job.

can you feed labels from the back Z stack?
No stack feed. Rolls only. Buy you could roll the stack around a cardboard tube and use them that way.

I bought one used but it kept messing up labels at random. Splitting them in half. I calibrated, downloaded the drivers from seagull?, Used Microsoft edge. And still kept messing up

I purchase one a couple of years ago. I had a lot of trouble finding a way to download the software. I had to download it twice until it worked. I am not software savvy. The printer worker for a while and then just stopped working. I have been hesitant about tossing it out and I am glad I didn't. I still have it and would like to find the right software to download. Would you be able to help me find the right software for windows 10? TIA

In the video it looks like you are printing .pdf on the macbook print. Is that correct? Are you using a .pdf workaround or are there drivers for Mac OS?
You use the EPL2 driver for mac. Yes it is a PDF
Does anyone know whether you can print custom addresses on those labels? Like for example two simple addresses on one sticker then cut it in half with scissors?
Of course you can :) You can use Zebras own label design software or just something like Word. If you dont want the size of a 4x6 label you can just buy smaller labels :)

i wanna use this printer for scrapbooking, can i print anything?
I use a HP m15w wireless laser printer 🖨 through bluetooth or wifi. I love it for many reasons. I like that its small does not take too much space. That it does not use that much ink it only prints in black. Ink cartridges for it are cheap to buy on ebay. And that I can set it up and use it to print anything using only my iPhone no laptop or computer needed or required. I like that I can use it to print anything other than just shipping labels like the thermo printers. With the HP phone app I can easily make copies of anything using my iPhone or any smartphone!
I don't think that printer uses ink, it uses toner. I love laser printers, I might have to get it and test it out👍

Yes it can be used for any 4x6 format label.
When buying from Ebay is it better to choose refurbished or used or it doesn't matter? I'm currently wanting to buy one but never shopped on ebay. Is there a specific seller you prefer?

just did the install and everything worked out great except the the smaller letters printed very faint ? is this the printer or can it be fixed with the settings

I have the Zebra LP2844 I have calibrated it for the 4x6 labels but I am having problem with printing my labels the are to far to the right and part of the information is getting cut off . How do I adjust the width or get it to be centered?
Do you use the media guides? The small black things holding on to the labels. The small black things that Eric puts the labels in between at 3:17 in this video.. You can use the little blue/green wheel to the right to make them open/close

Hey, As Eric said in one of his latest videos, he got one of these for 25$ shipped the other day, so you just have to keep your eyes open. Think he have found like 4-5 the latest weeks for the same prices. They are often sold as "broken" but fully working after som testing.

I personally never have done that but I think it would depend on print design, if it was just some text on those labels yeah that would work.

What's up man, yes there is a setting in Mac. I have a video about Rollo install on Mac and info over the settings in that, ignore the rest of the video. Hope it helps

These were extremely high end, expensive label printers back in the day. We used them at Best Buy when I worked there for lots of different things. These are a steal now... no reason to be spending $200 on a wifi label maker. Zebra is a pro brand... the same printers Amazon and Walmart are using in their warehouses. Unfortunately since more and more people are starting ecommerce businesses, prices of all these types of printers on eBay are going up! Still cheaper than a new one though.
I agree 100% They can be harder to customize and dont work amazingly well with mac but they are still a great choice if you can get them cheap =)

I've had nothing but issues with mine over the past 6 months. Bought used off ebay for like 70 bucks. Consistently prints off axis, half the time the printer isn't even recognized by the computer. I've downloaded the latest drivers and held down the feed button while powering on/Off to calibrate but I continue to have issues. Any ideas?
Sorry to hear that. You might have bought one that is on its last leg after years and years of use. Seller might have not tested it correctly. ☹️
Just got the Zebra LP2844-Z version for really cheap, paid 15$ including shipping. I think it's a steel lol. It's tested and works, i'm really excited to try it :D When do you think your "install LP2844 printer with windows" will be up on the channel? I will probably need some tips to get it working! I would try www.zebra.com/us/en/support-downloads/knowledge-articles/zebra-setup-utilities--configuring-printer-settings.html and adjust darkness. How old and how long have you had it? Print head could be going own and need to be changed if it's been through hundreds of thousands of prints.
I've had 2 ...for the last 12 years . 1 is badged Eltron it's that old. they have NEVER gone wrong. sometimes the drivers need a little tweaking. but the printers are built like tanks .I've dropped mine .still work. best business investment I've made.

These printers are cool because they dont require ink, which is expensive. Large companies use Zebra printers too... like Costco because they are well made and reliable. I have one on my desk at my day job.

I bought a Zebra LP2844 and like it but sometimes the print dialog box on my Mac says “unable to push data to the printer.” Could it be that the printer power supply is the wrong size? What is the proper power supply to use with the LP2844?
I don't think that would be a power supply issue, but they use 19v 3.25a I think. It should be on the bottom of the printer.
