What is the difference between a protein treatment and the hair mayonnaise product

I don’t use any sort of hair mayonnaise- they’re not useful in my opinion.
The protein treatment is good for excessive shedding/Breakage but must be used carefully and followed with moisturizing conditioner or treatment to provide balance. Too much protein can break the hair even more.
