Great meal for little money. I hope a lot of people see this video and follow suit. I made a pork roast meal about a week ago. I cooked the pork the same as you, really hot for the first 30 minutes, then reduced the temperature for the rest of the time. One difference, though. I scored the skin and poured a jug of boiling water over it. Patted dry with paper towels and left in the fridge for an hour. Then rubbed salt into it, added the oil and cooked it. Best crackling ever. It was brilliant. But you need to ensure you dry it with the paper towels because wet pork won't crisp up. Love this video.
Hi dearest Andy I’m still fighting the cancer been in the hospice all over Christmas but thank God I’m home today 👍🏻.Sat in bed now with a hot chocolate life is good again !!!!!.I have missed you thanks for uploading this video and as always I’m going to watch you making your nana's steak pudding yet AGAIN ( I so love it ) !!!!! God bless you KEEP WARM take care and a very happy and HEALTHY 2025 to you both xx
Thanks so much, nice to hear you are back home, have missed your comments, really hope things go well in 2025, stay safe, I hope you enjoyed that hot chocolate sounds lovely all the best Andy & Kaye
This is why I like your channel, I enjoy the variety and you are practical and try to give people ideas. I like what you did with use of the pork. LETS GET ANDY TO 10k SUBS PEOPLE HE DESERVES IT. Hope Kaye is on the mend and enjoy your evenings. Best wishes, Brian
Hi Andy, please tell your wife that I wish her a speedy recovery. Your roast pork dinner looked lovely, pork is a favorite of mine, when I was a child my Mom use to buy a two inch thick cut of pork off the leg, I don’t remember crackling,I wonder if she had it removed, as it would have weighed extra,I remember it being round so I think it was cut straight through the bone, not to one side of the bone like yours. Anyway when I came to the States I was surprised that you couldn’t get that cut anywhere here it’s all about the loin with,or without the bones. You can get a Boston butt, boneless shoulder very popular in Latino households,or to cut into chunks for stews, and things. Such a good price for everything you bought😊
Thanks Janet, the prices before Christmas were really good, that was definitely the cheapest I have seen for years for vegetables everything 8p it was well worth stocking up 👍
love pig andy mate...anything pig is good for me but with the amount of crowns i have in my gob i would be toothless eating that wonderful crackling 😁😂
Mmmmmmmmm yummy 😋 Love your videos Andy and it's great to show what you can make especially if your on a budget. I love crackling ♥️ That looked perfect. Hope you both feel better very soon 😊
Lovely meal Andy when pork joints were on offer in Asda for half price I froze it and we had it new years day the joint should of been £12odd and it was £6 odd and we had it new years day a few days after with chips and gravy and on Sunday we had with mash and carrot and turnip and gravy .so it did 3 meals as the is only me and my adult son who has the same name as you live fran xxxx❤❤
Looks amazing! Maybe we should get a chest freezer again in the garage and fill it when things come on offer! I used to freeze everything. left overs, Veg, Onions just about everything and portion it out, i sort of slipped a bit as i now have a bit more money these days. But well done big Man, look forward to more of your cooking, much better than the shite processed shite you get from supermarkets.
I'm sorry your wife is not feeling well. Get better soon .ilke this cooking a a budget helps me out. To economise although saying that I've always been a budget lo, way back when my daughter was young Scranton was my middle name low
Andy I saw an orb... it turned my guts 7 minutes in over the right shoulder, first I thought it was gonna nick a sprout but then thought... not a chance off Fat Andys plate even if they were less than a'penny each 😂
You can get microwave cooking bags for frozen veg - they do a good job on frozen sprouts. Coincidentally I'm having frozen sprouts and carrots tonight!😊
😂😂 to be fair this was meat and vegetables i bought before Christmas when the price was stupidly cheap, that’s why i managed to get it to £1 per head, otherwise it would have been a lot more expensive 👍
I am being polite but that is not a realistic cost per person. You said you already blanched the vegetables and cooked the potatoes to mash them then froze them you then defrosted the mash in the microwave then reheated it cooked the vegetables and the meat and made the gravy. I would say costs of energy used to cook everything and hot water for the gravy and taking into account some gravy granules and hot water and washing up liquid for washing up after a realistic cost per person is £2.20 to £2.50.
Looks great. Thx Andy, hope Kay gets better soon
Thanks yeah she’s really had it bad

Super video sweet , thank you x 😊

Thanks really appreciate it
Thanks for this Andy, I only have a budget of £142 a month for food so that’s £4.58 per day. Tend to go for yellow stickers and shop daily.
It’s the best way, I have noticed a few things going up in price over the last week or so.
Lots of good food discounted daily. Nothing wrong with it.
This government aren't helping people with small budgets I hope things get better❤
Be honest with you you can eat lots of stuff that’s quite a bit out of date as long as it’s been in fridge it’s still fresh
So many yellow sticker bargains out there👍. A lot of shops do their stickering after 6pm👍
I can see myself having a three hour journey from Liverpool Street on Greater Anglia trains via Norwich for dinner at yours.
😂😂😂

Great easy meal to make when you come home from work and not processed shite.

Thanks it was really good 👍
You could always have bought some yorkies from Iceland. They could have been put in the microwave for a couple of minutes...bangin'.
That crackling had my mouth watering 😋
It was good 👍

Sounds good 👍
Cracking meal,
Where did you purchase the pork?? As it's unusual to see a stamp on supermarket meat
Came from Aldi before Christmas, bought two big lumps just over 3kg each cost £18 for the two 👍
Nice one Andy 👍
Thanks 👍
👍
Thanks
Banging bit of pork that.
It was good
God that looks good Andy Boi, hope Kays feeling better soon mate!
Thanks 👍
Bon appetite 😋
Merci 😋 😂😂👍

It was definitely nice, yeah chest freezer is definitely worth it, like you say just stock up when things are cheap 👍

😂 thanks 👍
You're a good wee cook Andy, your wife's a lucky woman
Thanks she is pretty handy in the kitchen as well 👍
love a roast anyday xxxx
It was good 👍
You can't buy them @ 8p now can you... This would now be way more than you've quoted!
It definitely would now, I stocked up, 8p was a crazy price cheapest I’ve known for years 👍
Mmm 😋 🐷 🤤
You can stick the sprouts 🌱 where the mice 🐭 can’t get at them though Mr Andy 😃
😂😂
Andy I saw an orb... it turned my guts 7 minutes in over the right shoulder, first I thought it was gonna nick a sprout but then thought... not a chance off Fat Andys plate even if they were less than a'penny each 😂
😂😂😂 no chance lovey sprouts 😂👍
Sprouts aren't the same when they're frozen they like to soft and not firm like they supposed to be
You can get microwave cooking bags for frozen veg - they do a good job on frozen sprouts. Coincidentally I'm having frozen sprouts and carrots tonight!😊
These were not soft at all, they honestly tasted like fresh 👍
That for £1!!! It only goes to show what profit these restaurants make on their bloody meals, Andy. Better to stay at home and enjoy the nosh, I say.
😂😂 to be fair this was meat and vegetables i bought before Christmas when the price was stupidly cheap, that’s why i managed to get it to £1 per head, otherwise it would have been a lot more expensive 👍
@@fatandy True, mate.

Definitely not, £1 per meal and I will stand by that worked it out, don’t know how much you are paying for electricity but mine is very cheap 👍
