This was the game that got me into battlefield. Hardline will always have a special place in my heart. I understand why the hardcore bf players dislike it, but coming into this game blind, I was blown away.
Sammeee man. This was such a fluid game, such a refreshment after playing all those cods. The feeling this game had really resonates w me i lowkey miss it :D

If it came out as separate title made by dice it would be a hit, people just had massive problem with it being put under BF title umbrella especially after success of BF4 and its dlcs
Had a great time with this game, especially the desert map. I think it was a missed opportunity to have multiple factions instead of generic "Cops vs Robbers" like DEA vs Cartel, SWAT vs Domestic Terrorists etc

One thing that isn't talked about enough is Hardline's gun bench. Its crazy that in a AAA game they let us design our own camos and customise reticles for free. Wish more games would do this!
Lots of really cool mechanics, like being able to just take ammo from support, the hacker thing was cool and they had some really fun maps. Underrated game, but I get that it was a letdown after how big the prior 2 games were.

Hardline was my favourite game. I can't even describe why, I just think classic cops and robbers was extremely fun and my buddy and I had the greatest time playing together. And honestly the dedicated police gear like tasers, ziplines, grappling hooks was so fun.

Hotwire was just so different. Loading up in a car with your buddies and running down other cars while leaning out the window to shoot at them was just so fun and cinematic. Miss it dearly
I feel that the game wasnt tied to "Battlefield" It would have a longer life and a larger following, also just want to say that I loved this game also the campaign was a solid 9/10.
I grew up playing bf4 and hardline with my uncle and just watching this brings backs good memories staying up all night playing with him . He passed away in Afghanistan in dec of 2015. Great video btw

Easily my favorite Battlefield game. The TTK was quick and punishing; and the unlock system is something I wish was more common. I wish we had a proper follow up to this.

The BF purists didn't react well to the fact that this game had Battlefield in it's title. The game was fun as hell. A Hardline 2, if it stayed close to its roots, would be great on current gen hardware.
one of my favourite mechanics in this game that got overlooked a lot, if you tazer an enemy you can "interrogate" them and it tells you where nearby enemies are on the map XD absolutely great, also the easter egg if you were on the police team and spot a box of doughnuts the cops all shout "doughnuts!"
I myself am also forgetting if you hit an enemy with a non lethal melee weapon you could also interrogate them too🤣 e.g. nightstick being non-lethal whilst a knife would be lethal
The thing that always had me come back to Hardline was just how smooth the gun play was compared to Bf3 and Bf4. And the weapon selection was so diverse and interesting.
ugh yes!! something I always appreciated about this game was the pacing of the gun play and how responsive it felt. revengeful 1v1 encounters felt so, so personal. there was such an intensity to the pacing of the combat overall.

I loved hardline! After BF3 my most played bf. That one mode where you had to drive around in vehicles to gather points was the best. Would love to play that again!

I really liked Hardline. Back then we took it for granted to have working classes, good vehicle gameplay and a serious tone in a Battlefield game. No doubt it had its flaws but imo it's still better than 2042...

I genuinely enjoyed Hardline. It had so many unique modes and ways to play. I'm still angry that it died before half the DLC came out. There are whole packs of maps I never got to play because it died so quickly.
Best thing about this game was the Devs creativity and the ability to know what team you were on vs who you were facing. 2042 doesn't have either of those 2 things
Probably the best summer I had in a Battlefield game especially grinding for the 300 knockout pre patch. Also almost lots of the DLC guns were giving us hints for a WW1 not just the Lewis machine gun

I remember playing them sniper maps and picking “engineer” and then maps also were on hardcore like the whole map was on dark and we needed to use the night vision on our scopes just have the gear. Good times

I think a new Battlefield Hardline/Cops vs Robbers is long overdue and is an opportunity to put some of the best features from previous BFs. *Game Modes:* Robbery (Combination of Control and Rush): Robbers/Defenders have make initial cuts into safe doors (control) and then place explosion to blast the door open (rush). Meanwhile police/attackers are trying to stop them. Payload (Breakthrough): Robbers have to "clear a path" for the the trucks hauling the stolen goods. Raid (Combination of Control and Conquest): Police raid multiple warehouses where the stolen goods are being held. Siege (Breakthrough): Police/attackers go after the mastermind at their mansion Heist (Operations): Story driven multiplayer that does all these modes like in BF1 *Classes* Possibly an unpopular opinion, there is where I think BF2042's combination of specialists restricted to four classes would work very well. Essentially make them like Team Fortress 2 class schemes. I'd also bring back Commander Mode in the form of "Mastermind/Coordinator" from BF4. *Gameplay* Very objective-based squad play that is enforced by the Mastermind/Coordinator. Depending on the game mode, the Mastermind/Coordinator can look at what a squad's overall performance and assign them tasks. While squads will still have "free will" they will be penalized for not performing their assigned tasks. *Maps* Mostly urban and medium scale. Because of this, you have to go all in on destruction and use destruction to determine how a match proceeds. For example, police can use explosives to block an exit for the robbers, but the robbers could also then use explosives to unblock to or create a new exit. *Vehicles* Mostly reserved for deployment by the Mastermind/Coordinator. Once a vehicle becomes available, squads can deploy onto that vehicle and it's and then deployed by the Mastermind/Coordinator

Immediately had to watch as soon as I saw this. I just started replaying the story mode. Suchhhhhh a good battlefield game. I wish I could go back to when it had just launched, so much fun! Some of the best game modes in online

You should leverage your popularity, rent a server, and do a community night to see what it's like at a proper player count. The smaller maps and limited power weapons makes for one of the best versions of Conquest yet. Dense, but also grounded
The dynamic of cops vs robbers was so unique and I do hope DICE tries something new like this sometime. Hopefully after we get a new Vietnam War battlefield title
I firmly believe that if this game had better balance at launch it would have been remembered much more fondly. It's a wonderfully fun take on Battlefield.
I remember grinding out the battle rifle gold camos as Support, going up against M416s and Vektors. Had a ton of fun, but IMO the weapon balancing probably contributed to the game's early demise, as well as the undue dismissal it got from the community at large. This is the game that had outlined capture areas, good vehicle collision and friendly AoE colours; some great improvements for the franchise.
Underrated. Sure, the devs could've done more, but this is a solid title with a great lineup of actors. Their focus was to blur the lines between game, movie, and reality. Immerse the audience. They'd accomplished that, but not enough innovation from their techs to appease the critics. One of EA's B-team devs most likely made this. The framework was already set from previous iterations of the franchise. This is a spin-off, I'm aware

The whole information gathering (by a LOT of things in game) and the Cops vs Robbers theme with crafty stuff like sabotages is soo soo cool! I don't think any game will ever give me the same feeling Hardline gave me.
I got this game late after playing bf4 and bf3 on my ps3 for a while. I didn't understand the hate it got. I personally thought it's really cool. I like the theme and mechanics. I especially enjoyed the cool vehicles. There was this mode where you needed to take control of vehicles and just drive them around the map! I really enjoyed that one.
hardline was one of the best battlefields. I think the main reason people disliked it is that its not a classic battlefield setting. Without the battlefield franchise the game could have had a lot more success.
Honestly, Hardline was pretty okay. That said, I would love to see these maps make an entrance into BF2042. That game really needs clustered maps like this.
Some of the maps in Hardline were actually really fun to play on! Hope they bring back a few of these maps in future Battlefield games, maybe remade or reimagined in war-type scenarios 🔥
I had a lot of fun in that game. Proximity mines where fun to blow up cars and the helicopters were fun. I really liked the desert map that showed at the very end of the video.
I just started playing this game. Amazing. The storyline is amazing I'm on episode 5. Wow. I was actually going to be a cop in my 20s so this is right up my alley. My cousin who is a cop recommended this game. It a masterpiece
If this game was marketed as just "Hardline by DICE" and not "Battlefield Hardline "people would have adored it. Truly a unique experience that no other game has offered. I hope this video boosts those player numbers up a tad so I can play it again.

Best BF game in fun per minute by far. Loved the HCAR and the FMG9,the Spas 12 was brutal. Tons of good memories!

Same here I had a huge friend group we all used to play it every day grinding the guns to get the license so we could use them on the opposing side….

I’m a diehard battlefield fan and this was one of my favourite battlefields…. Hotwire was just perfection
I loved this game. When it first came out I was working away a lot and this game kept me from dying of boredom in the evenings. So good
There are actually a bit more people playing, but it's usually on weekends. You can even find some populated DLC servers every now and then

I think a new Battlefield Hardline/Cops vs Robbers is long overdue and is an opportunity to put some of the best features from previous BFs.
*Game Modes:*
Robbery (Combination of Control and Rush): Robbers/Defenders have make initial cuts into safe doors (control) and then place explosion to blast the door open (rush). Meanwhile police/attackers are trying to stop them.
Payload (Breakthrough): Robbers have to "clear a path" for the the trucks hauling the stolen goods.
Raid (Combination of Control and Conquest): Police raid multiple warehouses where the stolen goods are being held.
Siege (Breakthrough): Police/attackers go after the mastermind at their mansion
Heist (Operations): Story driven multiplayer that does all these modes like in BF1
*Classes*
Possibly an unpopular opinion, there is where I think BF2042's combination of specialists restricted to four classes would work very well. Essentially make them like Team Fortress 2 class schemes.
I'd also bring back Commander Mode in the form of "Mastermind/Coordinator" from BF4.
*Gameplay*
Very objective-based squad play that is enforced by the Mastermind/Coordinator. Depending on the game mode, the Mastermind/Coordinator can look at what a squad's overall performance and assign them tasks. While squads will still have "free will" they will be penalized for not performing their assigned tasks.
*Maps*
Mostly urban and medium scale. Because of this, you have to go all in on destruction and use destruction to determine how a match proceeds. For example, police can use explosives to block an exit for the robbers, but the robbers could also then use explosives to unblock to or create a new exit.
*Vehicles*
Mostly reserved for deployment by the Mastermind/Coordinator. Once a vehicle becomes available, squads can deploy onto that vehicle and it's and then deployed by the Mastermind/Coordinator
Hardline was actually a DOPE game! had some cool dynamics, car chases, laser trip mines, the couch u could ride around on at 75mph lmao... Good Times!!! They need a Portal version in BF2042 !!!
Immediately had to watch as soon as I saw this. I just started replaying the story mode. Suchhhhhh a good battlefield game. I wish I could go back to when it had just launched, so much fun! Some of the best game modes in online
Incredible game. The custom camos you could make were great. And the weapon selection was top notch

You should leverage your popularity, rent a server, and do a community night to see what it's like at a proper player count. The smaller maps and limited power weapons makes for one of the best versions of Conquest yet. Dense, but also grounded

The dynamic of cops vs robbers was so unique and I do hope DICE tries something new like this sometime. Hopefully after we get a new Vietnam War battlefield title
Hotwire was some of the best fun I had in this game. Tried playing it recently and was disappointed that nobody plays it on PC.
I firmly believe that if this game had better balance at launch it would have been remembered much more fondly. It's a wonderfully fun take on Battlefield.
Hardline and Ghosts were the most slept on games in their franchises. I had a blast playing both of them
I remember grinding out the battle rifle gold camos as Support, going up against M416s and Vektors. Had a ton of fun, but IMO the weapon balancing probably contributed to the game's early demise, as well as the undue dismissal it got from the community at large. This is the game that had outlined capture areas, good vehicle collision and friendly AoE colours; some great improvements for the franchise.

Heist mode was so fun, and under appreciated. Wish they would make a sequel just for that mode alone.
Such a unique setting for a battlefield game, they need to do more of this. Hotwire and Rescue were some great fun
Underrated. Sure, the devs could've done more, but this is a solid title with a great lineup of actors. Their focus was to blur the lines between game, movie, and reality. Immerse the audience. They'd accomplished that, but not enough innovation from their techs to appease the critics. One of EA's B-team devs most likely made this. The framework was already set from previous iterations of the franchise. This is a spin-off, I'm aware

The whole information gathering (by a LOT of things in game) and the Cops vs Robbers theme with crafty stuff like sabotages is soo soo cool! I don't think any game will ever give me the same feeling Hardline gave me.
I got this game late after playing bf4 and bf3 on my ps3 for a while. I didn't understand the hate it got. I personally thought it's really cool. I like the theme and mechanics.
I especially enjoyed the cool vehicles. There was this mode where you needed to take control of vehicles and just drive them around the map! I really enjoyed that one.
This game was so under appreciated man, so much fun
hardline was one of the best battlefields. I think the main reason people disliked it is that its not a classic battlefield setting. Without the battlefield franchise the game could have had a lot more success.
Honestly, Hardline was pretty okay. That said, I would love to see these maps make an entrance into BF2042. That game really needs clustered maps like this.

Some of the maps in Hardline were actually really fun to play on! Hope they bring back a few of these maps in future Battlefield games, maybe remade or reimagined in war-type scenarios 🔥

I had a lot of fun in that game. Proximity mines where fun to blow up cars and the helicopters were fun. I really liked the desert map that showed at the very end of the video.
Legitimately had more fun in this game than I did in BF4. The map design was better for the most part and the gameplay was great fun.
I just started playing this game. Amazing. The storyline is amazing I'm on episode 5. Wow. I was actually going to be a cop in my 20s so this is right up my alley. My cousin who is a cop recommended this game. It a masterpiece
If this game was marketed as just "Hardline by DICE" and not "Battlefield Hardline "people would have adored it. Truly a unique experience that no other game has offered. I hope this video boosts those player numbers up a tad so I can play it again.
