Women have a great role in the Tharu community. They play insignificant roles in society but are always the hero behind the curtain. They have life-hacking intergenerational skills and techniques which they have gained from their mothers and forefathers such as weaving, sewing, made from the found natural materials around them making fishing nets, and women have a great role in farming. They have great knowledge and practice of herbs for healing and curing ill people. Tharu women is affected by climate change.
