I have 3 Pinbot's that I'm going to get into soon and all 3 have the paint flaking bad like yours. Must have been some adherence issues during that time period. Great video

Enjoy your video. I’m getting ready to hopefully redo an old pinball machine myself.

      Thanks. What machine is it?

@@Pinballorama It’s called spot pool. How do we find out how many of them were made? Is the serial number someplace visible?

@@fryeguyfrye5520 I'm not sure if they kept a record of how many of those were made back then. Serial numbers are often on the top of the back box and inside near where the cash box would sit.

Those be some great / cool results. Something I would suggest for applying stencils or decals is a tool called The Big Squeegee (20 inch version). It is a touch pricey, but I'd hate to be without it.

Thanks. I used a semi-hard rubber tool to help adhere the vinyl. Worked well and didn't damage the vinyl. If I end up doing a lot more of these, I'll probably look into better tools like the squeegee.

I have a slow restoration of Black Knight, I painted the cabinet with stencils and it looks amazing. The edges are clearly visible and elevated due to the layers of paint. Did you do a wet sand on the edges when you sanded with 3k grit? How do you like the triple thick matte? I know here you liked it but have you used it since? Any final polish on that?

I also had slightly raised edges from the stencils. I gave them a very light sand to smooth them out but it didn't remove them entirely. I was ok with that. The matte clear over it helped smooth the edges and is protecting it rather well. That machine has been in the arcade for over a year getting hammered on by the public and it still looks like the day I painted it.

Any reason for not using automotive paint?
