Autonomy to ALL provinces is the way forward and AROB has once again proven best choices for its people.
Bougainville crisis would not have eventuated if the visions of young Bougainvilleans were considered in the first place while the giant copper Mining was still in operation.
They instigate the move for Provincial government system and now Autonomous Governance.
State system works in other democratic countries so Autonomy should be considered.
As for Allan Bird you are truly the new generation visionary leader and I raise my hand in support to your move.
I also mention one of PNG's visionary Fathers still standing, Sir J ,who made the first intention for NGIs to be given Autonomy due to the unequal benefit sharing by greedy, self interest PMs.
    AUTONOMY IS THE WAY FORWARD.

The East Sepik are doing well with Allan Bird and Richard Maru.
Late Sir Michael gave us independence. What have our current leaders done and given to PNG? Stagnancy after 49 years of Independence.
All leaders must demonstrate selflessness in their leadership. Lead and empower our people. Stop the handout culture.
    Recall the old Chinese saying?
I concur with the East Sepik Governor's concerns. It's time for regional or provincial autonomy to break free from Waigani Swamp Shackle.

Hurray and blessings on the call for block grants to all provonces by the Governer of Easr Sepik.
This call is long time coming and must be honestly executed by the National Goverment for the provinces for prosperity, progress and financial independence for all to enjoy the freedom to be free from financial burdens being faced.
May God's grace and wisdom be upon the leaders to make this happen be for year 2025.
    Great call. Blessings.

If other countries like Australia have progressed so successfully by way of BLOCK GRANT, why not give it a CHANCE to provincial governors like Allan Bird, Sasindran Mutivel, Sir Peter Ipatas and others to trial it out. Fund them with necessary resources and allow a 5 to 10 year period to see the outcome.
Those Doubtors and Negative Thinkers can continue to remain and do the business as it been ever since.
WHY NOT GIVE IT A TRY, PRIME MINISTER?

"Big man" mentality, greed, misappropriation, nepotism and unequal distribution of wealth is sinking this nation. In fact Independence was for the UN Trust Territory of New Guinea. 50yrs ago Papuans were denied a referendum for Self-determination. Let New Guineans celebrate 50th anniversary next year. Papuans must push for a referendum for Self-determination.🙏

    I agree
I think WNB Province was trying to do the same or ENBP?
Milne Bay Province also suggested doing the same?
    It is important.
All the governor's must go back & focus on their provinces, including district members & open members.
Also, all regions should establish its own vagrancy Act.
If people enter one province, officers at the airport or when purchasing tickets have the right to question travelers.
What is your purpose for traveling to that province?
How long do you intend to stay?
    What will you be doing?
How many of you are going?
    What are you carrying?
The sea ports to conduct the same thing?
    Just a thought.
    But it may work? 😊

Provincual or regional political and economic Autonomy was always there since independence but people and their leaders at all levels of government didn't pursue it until in recent years when democracy was threatened through bad politics, resources sharing and serious disregard for good governance and rule of law.
I am seeing this country is heading to a destructive and chaotic ending, breaking up into smaller regional groups if not corrected soon enough
