im 50 yrs old and its the year 2020 and i still think that this is the greatest thing to ever happen to hardcore, straight edge, and just punk rock music in general. this little 3 song single says it all
This is just mind blowing how good compositions are. To think that in 1990 Revelation gave us this EP, Bringing it down, The BURN 🔥7” INSIDE OUT 😮 AND Perfection of Desire by Shelter is just nothing short of phenomenal. I would Even go as far as saying magical! My idol Ray Chatman just a mile away from me the same year when I was 14 and he was about 21 makes it even more incredible! I never thought in 1 million years my idol would be moving around the corner hanging out with me for the next two or three years at a Harry Krishna temple! But wait, where is Sammy? For the temple but I can tell you what makes me really upset. When I watch the New York City hard-core Chronicles on TH-cam and they ask who are the top three hard-core drummers and 90% of the time they don’t mention Sammy I think that’s criminal. Keep in mind I’m a real drummer. Not some no-nonsense guys and only played in punk rock band I can play the drums for real, and I can tell you that Armand, Lou, and Even Alan Cage and MACKIE had nothing on this 16 year old kid playing on this EP. Now if anyone wants to know anymore ask me what happened when Purcell ended up at the temple a year later! 😅
EP of my life! "when morality is defeated compassion is deleted all in the name of our desire and we've got to be blind or just losing our minds if we can't see this world's on fire we've got to disengage"
Hey brother from YOUTH of TODAY (legendary Ray Caputo (Shelter)how are you all doing?).i was old manager (53years old) from HC band INFECTED YOUTH we have 2lps and 3tapes... and make YOUTH of TODAY...
Such an amazing 7'. I think this was the last thing they ever released. This band had a huge impact on me in highschool, like 1987-88. It's too bad Shelter sputtered out with those embarrassing last releases.
Time to reprint it including the missing song "One night stand " from the same recording session, today available on revelation's 25th anniversary cd good luck and Health to everybody from Italy

I’m 50 as well. 2022. I still have this EP. Still motivated by YOT. Ray Cappo, best front man in all hardcore!

At the time, I loved Youth of Today. Looking back, I think this is their best work.
These 3 songs remain in 2020. Im 47, discovered this when I was 18

If you really think about w, all Shelter is embarrassing, I saw them tons of times, probably because we hoped for a YOT cover

nyhc fanatic here , oldschool 80's , would love to email any members of this band , love em , any cdr traders get ahold of me , thanks > tom !
This and the Burn EP is the best hardcore has to offer.
This is easily Youth of Today's best work. No contest.
Time to reprint it including the missing song "One night stand " from the same recording session, today available on revelation's 25th anniversary cd good luck and Health to everybody from Italy
These guys were the last Mohicans of hardcore punk mid 80s-90s

Unforgettable
Don't forget Token Entry
like salad days
More aggressive and badass than Salad Days, but it doesn't mean this is better. Minor Threat was perfect for performing their lighter sound.
@@MichaelPsyche I Love Minor Threat
Perfect!
OMG, when this first came out it was the best thing ever! Every song is fucking so energetic!!!
