Weird that the catfish is not chasing after the little fish (voorntjes) and that also the bream and carp are not really afraid of this giant predator. Top video, mannen !
It's a catfish, not a bass or pike. Catfish are ambush predators. They are slow. And that little species of carp are too fast. They don't have to worry. And the two big carp species, well, are just too big anyway. They are a competitor for the catfish. And that catfish is not giant. It's a small catfish anyway. 3 species of carp in the video. And carp is just another name for minnow.
@@davidsul7052 The wels catfish might be too slow if the carp are too far away. But if the carp are too close they are in real danger! Especially the narrower carp and the smaller bream are in real danger. Check out these videos where huge catfishes inhale or attack another big catfish, assumedly way too big for them to eat: th-cam.com/video/fRzh15niEbo/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/_ft1P6NQ71c/w-d-xo.html These videos show the wels catfish from their aggressive predator-side, your video shows it more from its scavenger side. I wonder if these are personality traits differently expressed depending on the fish or water type, or if all wels catfish are equally scavengers and predators.
@@PkGregor Other fish are not in danger unless they are small enough for a catfish to swallow. The same as a bass. A catfish is basically a whiskered version of a bass. Except they are scavengers too. They eat what's available. Of course it takes less energy to scavenge food than it does to catch live food. It just depends upon what's available. Catfish are catfish and will eat whatever they can fit into their mouths. Carp are also predators to a lesser degree. They will eat small minnows and small shad. The common carp in this video are way too big for the catfish to to consider as food. They're also way too big for the pike in that lake. And pike are way more aggressive than catfish. In the USA, pike have even attacked and bitten people. especially when dangling legs and feet in the water.
U always have such great content👍🏽I wanted to suggest catfish fishing underwater two weeks ago and now ur doing it.😃🙏I have learnt alot from ur videos.keep up the good work👍🏽.greetings from Germany 🇯🇲🇩🇪
Awesome video idk how the eating habits of the wels are but its cool to see its scavenging try some live minnows or other baitfish as well as some cut bait on a Santee Cooper rig its interesting to see how once its whiskers taste/smell something it backs up immediately to where it smelled it
The way most carp seem to cruise through about 1-2ft off the deck, it’s a wonder more people don’t try more 2ft long zigs or something. Nice furry nymph looking thing with praps some maggots attached
Hey I enjoyed your capture. I'm curious use about 30 seconds of your video to use as my background image on my channel? Of course I would give you credit for it. Please let me know... thanks.

Great footage - thanks for making & sharing these clips - there's so much to learn! Looking forward to next week's already
I don't get it. Why not use a piece of cutbait if you want to catch the catfish?
you have to try pellets its perfect for catfish

Those hideous things don’t even look real 😂😂😂😫
my friend try with a hot dog,i don't joking,
put a piece of hotdog on the hook.
Doesn’t it require catfish bait to catch catfish?
It definitely helps with a big juicy lump of deadbait in there, rather than that single pop up
Hi
Really ?
You do false title for making people watch ?!....
Not you.... You don't need this.......
