Iv had mine for 3 years now with know problems. I bought Memphis shades didn't like them they were a little small, My hands and fingers were still getting cold. I bought the chrome metal ones same deal too small hands getting cold. The advanblack are bigger and work great to me. I like the color match and I like how you can take the 3 rubber pieces out in the summertime to get a little more airflow, if you don't want to take them off completely
I'm glad ya haven't. My first set lasted a little over a year, the second and third set broke almost instantly. I wonder if the quality control is just going to shit. Like I said, they made it right every time but it was just getting annoying.
Metal ones are not necessarily the best answer. Memphis shades makes some very good ones. Advanblacks attachment points need to be re-engineered. The Advanblack dash console I had attached the same way - well nuts into plastic, and those also broke. Memphis Shades are solid and way better engineered.

Just sounds odd that they just broke off.

Yep. I've been told, by a guy at a shop that people have lost fingers, after wrecking with metal handguards, and that I should get plastic ones.
