I'm always happy to point you in the right direction regarding questions about Adobe Captivate. You can purchase a one-hour one-on-one session with me at bit.ly/Cp1on1 if you need more than a simple question answered. If you only use some of that time, that's okay. You can bank any unused time (15-minute increments) for future sessions. For example, if you use 30 minutes, you can use 30 minutes later.
It doesn't presently. It is a feature that will be coming at some point. Adobe aims to have feature parity between version 12 and Adobe Captivate Classic sometime before 2027.
Many thanks. I just already buy a captivate annual license . Adobe Captivate is a awesome program for me and I hope to see a cool feature update in a future. @@CaptivateTeacher
Thanks for this tutorial, very helpful! Do you know if there's an option to show the correct answer if the user gets it wrong in a limit umber of attempts? Can't see that option in the states!
After making all those changes to the slide ie the font and colour, the remediation message appearance etc,, card turned off, I was waiting for you to show us how to save that slide so we could use it again for another question.
@@CaptivateTeacher Your videos are really helpful. but to improve them further it would be good sometimes to know when something can't be done yet to save searching for an answer.
While I appreciate constructive feedback, you might be missing the point of why I create TH-cam videos about Adobe Captivate. I think people assume I work for Adobe, or perhaps I get a dollar or two from the $34 per month you pay Adobe. The fact is that Adobe does not pay me to support their product. I don't want to anticipate or answer all your questions. My goal is to show my expertise so that when you have a greater need, you can consider purchasing time for one-on-one instruction from my website: bit.ly/Cp1on1.
It's not but perhaps you can experiment with the second Design Option for question slides and play around with the size and placement of the image so you can still see the image and the question.
@CaptivateTeacher I need help here is the clear button is always in active mode even if don't select any option from Multiple Choice Question slide? or Is there way I can disabled it till I don't select the Option.
As far as I know it's always enabled regardless of if there is a selection already made. Perhaps you could suggest to Adobe to have it work another way. You can submit suggestions for features and report bugs directly to Adobe, using this link: adobe.com/go/cp_user_voice
Hello. When I hover the mouse cursor over a word on the test I have prepared, I want the translation of that word to appear and disappear when I move the cursor. How do I do this. But please tell me very simple step by step. I will use the program for the first time.
How can you assign points to the different answers for multiple choice? I am doing a multiple choice question for a Depression quiz and want to have it so that it shows if you scored certain ranges of points, would dependn on how depressed you are?
It sounds more like a survey or a Likert scale "question." The only option close to this is partial scoring, where you can assign different points to different answers, but they all contribute to a single score for that slide. That's not really what you're looking for, I'm afraid.
Whenever you select a new question slide you get the quiz results slide. However, you don't need the quiz results slide for a knowledge check, right? How do you make this slide go away? Mine won't delete. What am I missing?
Is there any way to add a singular image to a question slide? For example, I want to show users a picture as part of the question, and then just have text options as the answer choices.
If I had web objects, random question slides, and the ability to add additional narration to to the tabs or click to reveals in the widgets and I would be happy for most of the elearning that I design.
Check out my video about Adobe Captivate Themes. There are a few items that aren't saved but most formatting does get updated. th-cam.com/video/gD7S-jjGmyk/w-d-xo.html
This seems like an easy question, and because no one else has asked it yet I'm wondering if it's so easy that I just can't find it. Learners need 80% to pass the course, but I can't find the setting to make that happen. I'm in preferences>quizzing>reporting and can see Success/Completion Criteria = Slide views and/or Quiz, I see that Quiz is checked, I see that Quiz is passed is selected, I see Data to report is Quiz Score = Percentage, but I can't find where to set that percentage for passing as 80%?
Navigate to your results slide and click on the interactions icon next to your properties inspector to see and adjust the passing grade along with the action associated with the Continue button on this slide.
Great info. I work with the new Adobe Captivate for a living and it’s so buggy at times. If you can make a video on cache and publishing would be great. Sir, thank you Sir.
My only advice on the cache is to use a folder that isn't being backed up to the cloud, such as a OneDrive account. I usually make a folder off of my root storage called CpCache and ensure that Captivate uses that folder instead of the default one in the Documents folder.
The New version has taken a serious step backwards! For example, in this video, try producing a multiple-choice question with a single picture. (yes it is possible for computer screens but try viewing that on mobile...forget it. This is fundamental in any e-learning program.. You are now so limited to what Adobe thinks is good practice. Adobe have taken a major step backwards with this release. I have been finding so many limits I cannot recommend this to anyone serious about course development. Compared to Adobes other products, this is a toy and never worth the monthly cost.
It's a process. It had been five years since releasing a new version and because they had to completly rrewrite the software due to the amount of flash based technology in 2019 and earlier. They will continue to improve the software with updates once per quarter (like today with Adobe Captivate 12.3). Keep giving them your feedback as to what you want and I think you will see it eventually.

Adobe Captivate 12.4 does not have a built-in tooltip option that can be directly added to words within text components.

Presently you can only set a background image or set the answers to include an image.
A shame there isn't more options yet. Thank you for your reply. Your videos are a lifesaver! @@CaptivateTeacher

When I add new slides the Solid fill color is always black. How do I change this as a default for all my projects?
