I’m an older Irish woman from a working class background and I arrived in London during the 80s and I remember being shunned and disrespected as a matter of course. I think we need to put programs in place to assist with integration, including communication with the local communities educating and informing them about the refuges and asylum seekers coming into the area. I think a big problem is people aren’t informed about who’s coming, which creates a divide from the start and some education into who they are, where they have come from, the reasons for and some information about their culture and even events to meet them would really help with breaking the divide and integrating
