  • Surfcasting Whatipu beach, Manukau heads. Up past the Ninepin.
Popular land based fishing area for Aucklanders.
Average results, a few good kahawai and a lost shark on the slide bait.
    But a really scenic spot.

totally agree, very challenging as over fished. You have to dive with a knife in one hand at all times due to the forest of nylon. But rewarding on occasion. Kingfish seen and caught as regulars there at the moment.....

Awesome camera angles and editing. I love how you always have a story behind your fishing trips. Never knew you liked memes though 😂

i heard a story about the orphious disater screams could be heard from the bar that night the ship went down and some say it had a tonn of brittish gold aboard

Didn't know about the gold! I went on a drift dive out there about 20 years ago looking for one of the cannons. Tethered to an IRB in super calm conditions at low tide with a big magnet. Don't recommend it. Didn't see anything but sand moving. They found a cannon ball from it washed up down port Waikato.

Cheers bro. Try to do it late march to early may and bring those squid fishing skills with ya. NZ Kingis would go berserk for a live squid yet we rarely use/target them over here....?
