The monkey you pick up in the opening while holding rose, can be seen in one of the destroyed houses in the first visit of the village and Ethan can interact with it with the monologue “What is this doing here?”
One Easter egg you missed can be found visiting the Duke at the Ceremony Site, after returning from house Benevento. He holds up a small doll of Eveline and asks Ethan if it looks familiar to him.
One I keep hearing about is that during the call between Lady D and Mother Miranda, Lady D’s reflection appears to be looking straight at the hiding Ethan a couple times. Further proof comes from some concept art that was released where Lady D is applying makeup, but her reflection is a terrifying stare towards us. Also explains how she got hold of us so fast after she left; she knew Ethan was hiding there and gave him a false sense of security by leaving!
In my playthrough the model in the mirror, and the main model of Lady D were out of sync. It looked like the mirror was a second behind, and I was waiting for it to look my way or something
Wow, I had to go back to that shat in this vid and you're right. Never noticed it before.... I was more concerned with how thicc she looked sitting on the chair
@@palawolfy4855 I'd be surprised if it was ray tracing, since you can play the game without that enabled, and anywhere else I stopped to watch reflections in water, things were perfectly synced. I believe they went the more classic route of just adding a second model of the character/room in behind the mirror. When she got up to toss the dresser, the 2nd animation snapped back in time.
When Mecha-Heisenberg knocks Ethan down into the water, Ethan actually does the safer way of diving rather than flailing. He tucks in his arms to reduce surface area so he cuts through the water instead of crashing into it.
Back in Winter's Home there is laptop in bedrooms that states what's it been like for ethan and mia. Ethan says "But... I still feel like a part of me is trapped in the hell hole back in Louisiana" referencing the twist that he died at Louisiana. #HiddenDetail
Here are some of the bits I noticed from the game: 1. Ethan saying "I'm sick of bugs", must be a direct callback of when he fought Marguaritte from RE7 2. Eveline's name is oddly pattered after Miranda's daughter's name "Eva". I think Miranda was the one that named Eveline as she seems to be part of the team behind Eveline's existence. 3. In Miranda's lab, there was a photo of what seemed to be stages of how the cadou develops, it looks like a fetus formation. The same image can be seen in the credits scene of RE7 (Go Tell Aunt Rhodey) 4. Someone posted an audio clip of Bela saying "I'm sorry, mother" as she was dying. Now that's sad.... 5. RE7 and RE8 sure loves to mess with the idea of father, mother, and daughters. RE7 has a villain that yearns for a family, Eveline also mentioned she wanted Ethan to be her father. In RE8, we have a villain that yearns for her dead daughter. 6. in Heisenberg's mutated form, you can see there's a remnant of his hat lol 7. Oddly, only House Beneviento has no space for Duke to setup his shop... 8. Duke seems to keep a cadou for himself. If you visit him after you defeated Moreau, it can be seen that Duke is holding a cadou jar, then he puts it away. 9. If you examine the Golden Lady Statue, it says that Lady D is narcissistic lol
The bit where Lady D finds Cassandra defeated by Ethan is so sad too, "No!, how much blood and sweat do you think it took to raise those daughters?!" and when she's a dragon monster she mentions that ethan killed her daughters when trying to find his own
Another line that Lady Dimitrescu says when Daniela gets killed is: *"It was cold, wasn't it Daniela? "* And there's a journal in the mansion where she writes: *"She gave me three wonderful daughters"*
@@Aganie. There's literally no viruses involved. Eveline was the result of combining some of the mold with the DNA of Miranda's real daughter. She was a clone combined with mutamycete at the fertilization stage. She was a sentient human being who was only a few years old and God knows what The Connections, including Mia, did to her from birth. Think of her like the little girl in Logan. She did a lot of bad things but she was psychologically damaged and just trying to escape her captors and find a family.
One of my favorites is between the final remaining daughter of dimitrescu (Cassandra) and lady dimitrescu where if you pass by lady dimitrescu while being chased by Cassandra lady dimitrescu will say "leave him to me" and Cassandra will reply with "yes, mother"
She didn't for me, cassandra just said something but I was cornerd so I ran past her then all I hear is "there u are" and all I saw was massive tits I front of me. Other than that I never heard another unique dialogue between them
Shit in my play through I was seen by one of the daughters and they yelled “MOTHER! MOTHER! THE MAN IS HERE” and lady d said “leave him to me” and started chasing me lol that was the first time I seen lady d chase me and i just thought that was scripted
If you kill Cassandra before killing the second sister and then go to the hidden cut scene, it plays out differently, Lady dimiterscu calls out to Cassandra, when Cassandra doesn't respond and Lady Dimitrescu realizes you killed her, she freaks out.
Another possible clue is when Ethan meets the hag (who is later revealed to be Mother Miranda) after escaping the castle, he tells her "I almost died!" and Miranda says "How can a man be 'almost' dead?" This might be another implication of Ethan being made of mold
Knowing that mother miranda is the hag, I actually realized that after taking the guy's heart at Luiza's house she transformed right away into the hag. Thats why you find her as hag after she killed that guy
So we were hinted too many times... The part in RE7 where he is hand magically works after playing chop chop chop game forcefully. And the time where he used a chem fluid to re-attach his hand.
@@itzmiggyl2423 I mean I kinda knew after the very first few encounters with Mia in RE7. She has the same healing properties as you do later on in the game. And people said that theory is crazy back then.
Another easter eggs would have to be Ethan's mutilated fingers! Since it's Resident Evil 8, I guess the game designers decided to make Ethan play throughout the whole game with just 8 fingers.
Also, in a bit of foreshadowing i guess. you notice that not only is his hand repaired when he reglues it... But his jacket is stitched back together to... Showing that his clothing and him are all made of mold.
It's all cool and stuff but we remember that Ethan still had a bit of his ring finger left, but when he bandages the hand it disappears Did he just... rip it off?
@@OleksiyAntonkin Maybe cut it off with his knife to make it A) easier to bandage, since half a finger is useless anyway and B) make his hand more operational and functional in combat.
The lesson of RE 8 story is about being a good parent because lady Demitrescu loves her daughters, Mother Miranda tried to ressurect her daughter (Evaline), and Ethan attempting to save and sacrifice his daughter with his life and strength with a mold.
It also seems to indicate the talk about him was likely the condition of him being alive. Maybe they knew he was already dead and that's how he was "special".
Blood needs to be fresh for vamps, plus, even Miranda didn't know he was ded, she simply said, your body is not normal, she might have thought that Ethan was a human with abilities, like her family
You missed the one lady D hidden voice line where she talks about raising her daughters. You can REALLY tell she loves her daughters during that hidden voice message.
Something I noticed on my second playthrough is that when the Lycan first attacks you in the basement, it bites off your fingers, but doesn't ever try to actually eat you. It probably tasted the mold of Ethan's body and decided that it didn't like the taste.
a fun fact but probably wasn't intentional- the lycans are, you know, lycans as in werewolves, but they're also lichen, pronounced the same, as in an organism made out of fungi!
Fun fact: Lady Dimitrescu is even taller than some elephants, as the average African elephant can be between 8.2 feet to 13 feet tall, while the Lady is 9'6"
that's usually measured at the shoulders however, not where the elephants head is usually resting at same for most animals. Height is measured at shoulders rather than top of the head.
In addition to Ethan's new gun training, his knife skills got an upgrade too. Easy comparison to see than the reloading animation from 7 to 8. In 7, he holds the knife with both hands when he goes to stab. In 8, he takes a more defensive stance and stabs with just the one hand.
Back in Ethan's house, the other book you can find is an architecture book by George Trevor. George Trevor is Lisa Trevor's father and is the person who designed the Spencer mansion from the first resident evil.
When fighting Mr White, I mean, Heisenberg, he'll say "Too bad I'm your only fan" probably a nod to how the Resident Evil fans didn't really like Ethan in RE7
It’s crazy how bad the voice acting was when resident evil first started. Now it’s some of the best in the business. Konami could learn from from capcom.
If you listen when Alcina laments over her daughters, she says, "Was it cold, Daniela?" (Or something along those lines) Obviously mourning over the suffering her daughters would have gone through.
The music box, stuffed animal, and book read to rose in the beginning all make an appearance in the puzzle level of the game, adding further evidence that Ethans life was being observed by Miranda.
Thats how you know that a dev team is at the very least competent. When they not only realize their own ridiculousness/stupidity, but also make fun of it in later games.
Well, it's Resident Evil. Even in Revelations 2, Claire brought up the Master of Unlocking joke to Moira, Barry's daughter. Leon mentioned the Merchant's line to Helena in RE6.
Hey cool subtle Easter egg/Secret after you killed all three daughters. And you encounter Lady Dimitrescu you can see tears in her eyes as if she's been crying
The one where the bucket was named ABCDEFG was not a result of the environmental designer. It was actually a hint that Ethan was experiencing a large scale hallucination in the puzzle part of house Benevito.
@@themanofman1892 I thought it was Tidy Cat's too, because one of their variants has that same light blue lid. Maybe just some left over PTSD from my days at PetSmart having to carry those for people hahaha.
Also, Ethan's new reload animation in Residential Evil 8 might also mean another thing. The reason why soldiers take the mag out with their hands instead of just dropping it, is because when the mag hits the ground it makes a sound and gives away your position. So Ethan doing that means he is being more careful.
Also, while shooters preference, a lot of people train to manually pull the magazine out. Sometimes mags/mag wells get dirty and the magazine may not drop out by just simply pressing the magazine release.
You don't want to leave behind equipment that can be used against you, it's not like you go to the armoury and say can I have 4 magazines please like it's frickin McDonald's they cost money and there are no little imps filling them up for you ammunition still comes in strip clips of 10 and you do it yourself the idea that there are just boxes filled to the brim with full magazines grinds my piss they are issued equipment that you yourself need to maintain
@@NieroshaiTheSable When you're being chased by a lovecraftian monster, losing a magazine is the least of your worries. with that being said, I think it also shows that ethan is calmer in dealing with this. As he has the capacity to manage his magazine and not just focusing on realoading
Hey Cap, I was playing on my 4th playthough when I remembered that the RE8 demo is set a few decades ago and you play as a Maiden trying to escape the castle. One of the items that you pickup is an. animal bone necklace which stays with your body after lady Dimitrescu kills you. When playing as Ethan, you'll find a note in the dungeon with some maiden candidates and on of them is called Ingrid and it also says that she is "Unstable. Overly alert at times." which could mean that we played as Ingrid. This is also further supported by the fact that one of the undead maidens that you'll kill in the dungeon is holding an animal bone necklace called "Ingrid's necklace"
Cadou is the Romanian word for 'gift'. Eveline in RE7 infected people with her gift... This little connection blew my mind. In the end she infected the Bakers with the Cadou.
@@TheBanditoLad Yes but only ones controlling the mold were Eveline in 7 and Miranda in 8. So basically the procedure was to kill anyone coming near to the baker property and then subject them to the Cadou and the mold. Successful experiments resurrected with new powers and others just turned into molded. In 8 only Cadou was injected without any contact with mold and that turned them into lycans. (This is why lycans have blood because it's a mutated human with a corrupted mind)
Not only that, but since Miranda was involved with the production of Eveline’s kind she could’ve made a comment about how this is a “gift”, cause she probably knew the translation of “cadou” to English and Eveline and the others pick it up from that
@@TheBanditoLad Why not? The bakers and the lords both had insane durability and abilities of their own. Bakers were infected with the Gift and lords with the Cadou. Gift translates to Cadou in Romanian. Also Miranda was part of Eveline's production so the Gift/Cadou comment catched on.
Look, everyone is acting like that's something Eggcellent made up but that's a really popular saying lol. I'm just saying, it's always a classic but it's been around for probably well over a decade.
If you look at Heisenberg's concept art (unlocked from the Extra Content Shop) text it mentions that Heisenberg was inspired by Frankenstein. Sturm and the additional enemies found in Heisenberg's factory as a result of this are also references to Frankenstein's army. A bonus about Sturm that they mention in his concept art is that he once had arms, but he accidentally chopped them off with his propeller.
Might be wrong, but when Ethan sees the old woman from the village, he says "I almost died out there !" and she answers "How can a man be almost dead ?", at first we take it literally as an answer to what he just said, but knowing Ethan actually is dead but not really, and considering she knows a heck of a lot of things, isn't it kinda a foreshadowing to Ethan being moldy ? EDIT : I hadn't seen the ending yet, so I learned afterwards that the Baba was Miranda .. makes sense that she knows Ethan's state, so it isn't far from the truth at all that her answer to Ethan has double meaning.
There’s an Easter egg in Miranda’s lab. It’s a letter from Ozwell Spencer to Miranda thanking her for teaching him about the mold and inspiring him to find the Progenitor virus and make the umbrella corporation
More evidence on Ethan’s military training is shown in a cutscene during the Moreau part of the game. Ethan gets attacked from behind and is able to throw the aggressor over this shoulder. Maybe I’m reading too much into it but it seemed pretty professional to me the way it was done.
You can also compare the reload animations. In RE7, he keeps his finger on the trigger (or at least inside the trigger guard) while reloading, while in RE8, he takes the finger outside of the trigger guard. I guess he was scolded quite badly by some sergeant between the two games.
9:22 i think the reason why it is labelled "abcdefg" on every label is due to the fact that Ethan is in a hallucination dream state, thus why nothing in the whole house makes sense and the bucket is part of a "prop" of the level
Ehhh very doubtful. Considering you can read everything just fine. I did notice that the bucket looks like a bucket of cat litter. Same color and everything.
@@sophiehelena6737 she's not local, so it's probably the proper French pronunciation. Plus when you sell her body to Duke, he makes the rolling "R" sound that the French pronunciation would.
Another military training detail is how Ethan swings his knife in village in 7 he holds the knife with both hands and awkwardly stabs forward for his power attack while in village he has a defensive stance keeping a hand up to block
The "what have you done to my daughter?" and "entire bloodline of house dimitrescu is done in" lines played in every single playthrough i did out of 6 runs so far, so not very hidden ^^
When you first get a view of the whole village, you can see almost all locations you’ll go to. Obviously the castle is the first, but in the far left, you can see Moreau’s windmill, then it’s Heisenberg’s factory, then the castle, and at the far right you can see the stronghold. I couldn’t find House Beneviento’s though /:
@Cherry i was expecting to see some decent voice actors who spoke Romanian well for the immersion since english isn't hard to learn as a romanian but seeing every single word being pronounced like if it was Spanish or French made me die inside Trist :(
One that wasn't mentioned in the video is when you get the crank and lower the drawbridge, you can take the boat to a cave to find a small hideout with a lap top that mentions mold (i believe the earliest mention of mold in the game), an antique coin, and a crate that is actually the same model as the item box from RE7. Leaving the cave is also terrifying as the mold starts to creep out from the cavern depths.
You missed a line of dialogue from Lady Dimitrescu after all of her daughters are gone! She’ll call for Cassandra and get distressed when she doesn’t arrive in the foyer
maybe the ABCD is a reference to the previous failed bioweapon experiments in Resident evil 7. Calling the previous ones trash. You know, like they said "Experiments A to D failed". where "E" is Evelin. And maybe EFG is just a cover up
Mia/miranda cutting the conversation short works for both mia and miranda. mia not wanting to talk about it/remember it. and miranda wanting to end the conversation abruptly while pretending to be knowledgeable of mias past.
I knew something was wrong with Mia when she took that first shot at the dinner table. She stood there not like she was in shock, but as if she was surprised and knowing she was “immortal”
Aye, that's the part that tipped most people off. basically what seemed like a crazy bitch just went: Holy shit she just tanked a bullet wha--- *she gets lit up to sort of stop your train of thought*
Some other little details can be found all around the village: Things you can see at the begining of the game in ethan and mia's home that belong or can be associated with rose e.g in one destroyed house in the villige you can find the stuffed monky from the beginning (mentiond in this video) and when you interact with it there is actually a line that says something like "What is this doing here?". A other example is Rose's stroller that can be seen (quite obvious) when heading to the dollmaker. It has dollparts in it. Some might have thought it was just "a" stroller but its the exact same and the dollparts in it might even refer to rose's current "condition"...
Lady Dimitrescu even had 3 black roses represent her daughters that she put at her leftside of chest, meaning that her daughters is always close to her heart
The tower fight with lady Dimitrescu shares similarities with The Metal Gear solid 4 boss fight with raging raven. Dimitrescu even yells something to the effect of “show me your anger!”
In the Benevenito house, in the operating room (the room off the room the Mia doll is in) on a shelf there’s an orange box like the ones you opened in the Baker house in re7.
In the House Beneviento ark you can already enter the closets before the baby spawns and Ethan will start hyperventilating. Noticed this on my first play-through and I instantly understood where this was going
When Ethan gets his hand cut off and you go back and put it in your in inventory be sure to stop and check it out. When you turn the hand so the “stump” is facing you, you can actually see that there is mold growing in the “meaty” areas. Just another subtle clue about Ethan’s fate...

@@theonattrass2207 you're in the replies section of a comment in a vid that has spoilers
Here are some of the bits I noticed from the game:
1. Ethan saying "I'm sick of bugs", must be a direct callback of when he fought Marguaritte from RE7
The same image can be seen in the credits scene of RE7 (Go Tell Aunt Rhodey)
6. in Heisenberg's mutated form, you can see there's a remnant of his hat lol
The bit where Lady D finds Cassandra defeated by Ethan is so sad too, "No!, how much blood and sweat do you think it took to raise those daughters?!" and when she's a dragon monster she mentions that ethan killed her daughters when trying to find his own
Another line that Lady Dimitrescu says when Daniela gets killed is:
*"It was cold, wasn't it Daniela? "*

*"She gave me three wonderful daughters"*

Another possible clue is when Ethan meets the hag (who is later revealed to be Mother Miranda) after escaping the castle, he tells her "I almost died!" and Miranda says "How can a man be 'almost' dead?" This might be another implication of Ethan being made of mold
Nice one

Cadou is the Romanian word for 'gift'. Eveline in RE7 infected people with her gift... This little connection blew my mind. In the end she infected the Bakers with the Cadou.
Cadou and mold are different though
@@TheBanditoLad Yes but only ones controlling the mold were Eveline in 7 and Miranda in 8. So basically the procedure was to kill anyone coming near to the baker property and then subject them to the Cadou and the mold. Successful experiments resurrected with new powers and others just turned into molded. In 8 only Cadou was injected without any contact with mold and that turned them into lycans. (This is why lycans have blood because it's a mutated human with a corrupted mind)

Holy shit she just tanked a bullet wha--- *she gets lit up to sort of stop your train of thought*
I mean, yeah, some people might think that, but also shock *can* cause you to freeze up.
2:25 And later you see the monkey in one of the houses and Ethan says "What's this doing here?"
Bro I love that they acknowledged Chris’s crazy Boulder punching skills. It definitely gave me a chuckle when i first heard it
The tower fight with lady Dimitrescu shares similarities with The Metal Gear solid 4 boss fight with raging raven. Dimitrescu even yells something to the effect of “show me your anger!”
"show me your terror"
In the Benevenito house, in the operating room (the room off the room the Mia doll is in) on a shelf there’s an orange box like the ones you opened in the Baker house in re7.
In the House Beneviento ark you can already enter the closets before the baby spawns and Ethan will start hyperventilating. Noticed this on my first play-through and I instantly understood where this was going
