A FEW POINTS I DIDNT MENTION: - This shell is actuall a few mm thicker than the OEM shell (13.95mm OEM - 14.47mm aftermarket) - There is other colours available; Atomic Purple, Clear Black and White. - I fixed the L trigger issue by sanding down the L button's post which hits the actual switch on the motherboard. Only by 0.5mm or so but it was enough!
I actually did this mod about 2 weeks ago. I’ve had the replacement shell for about 4. Judging by the box, my replacement shell is from the same manufacturer as yours. Regarding the shoulder buttons, I also had the issue of not having that button “resiliency”. The problem was actually with the little rubber nub that contacts the internal pad, when pressed by the L or R button. The problem came from the shoulder button pushing the little nub out of its position when trying to replace the shoulder button back into position. Once I noticed that, I made sure the nub was re-seated correctly while inserting the L and R buttons. Fixed it right up. As for the screen, I used a hair dryer to heat up the adhesive. It relieved a LOT of anxiety that I had. I was so worried about ruining the screen. I’ll be posting my project on my channel soon, if you’re interested. Great video!! 👍

Had the same problem. Didnt noticed that rubber nub was moved. After you place the shoulder button you just move it back to its original position with a tweezer untill you hear the clicking sound when hitting the shoulder button ..
Looks great! I actually bought a broken switch with an error message for $120, sent it into Nintendo and they fixed it for free, just got it back today! Super excited about it
One thing I've learned to do is take pics after I have the shell off before I start to disassemble the game because God knows I cannot rely on my memory

Just about to tackle doing a Switch Lite. I did do the complete shell replacement for a regular switch and that surgery was a success. Messed around a bit inside of a Lite before and pretty keen to do a transplant for real now. Top stuff!
I've just built 1 of these switch lite clear shells I had no issue's assembling it. They feel amazing in your hands compared to the standard shell. Very high quality it even came with snes coloured buttons that look and work amazing
Just FYI to all the people who want to do this, the screen part is actually quite simple, use a heat gun on low heat or a hair dryer to soften the glue around the screen before trying to pry it off. Should come off pretty eaisly.

I recently got a woodgrain case with a set of gold buttons, looks great but man it was intimidating! So many different sizes of screws and none of the ribbon cable ports latch the same way, and of course no written instructions so, it was an adventure... But I now have a steampunk switch
Hairdryer to warm up the adhesive for the screen is the trick. I took a damaged Pokémon edition, and did it with clear black. I also replaced the outer screen as mine was damaged, so I got the black bezel without adding the extra height of the supplied screen protector. And yes, it’s a screen protector. Also. If you think removing both screens from the casing is tough, try splitting both. It’s nigh on impossible without damaging the digitizer. The end result is awesome. 😃
Tronics Fix did one recently for regular switch and showed how to cut the metal shield to show more but also keep the heat shield with the thermal paste.
Cool video here, should do a full length one of the shell swap. They also have the clear full shell replacements for the OG Switch. I would love to see a video on how to replace the front half of the original model because as far as I have seen so far searching TH-cam there hasn't been anyone make a video on that yet. And I'm 100% positive there are thousands of people with broken exhaust vent grills, cracks around the power/volume buttons, and cracks/chips around the USB-C port like myself that would VERY MUCH appreciate a video on replacing the front half of their Switch shell. I've literally only used mine handheld no more than 10 hours, never dropped it and basically always babied it yet still it's a day-one model so the plastic is so brittle it's started falling apart from the heat
Now you could change the Digitizer colour it will look mad and also take a high quality photo without the metal shied on and place it over the metal shield to have the inside look without shield 😉
New inspiration for you. What if, if you try to laminate the Switch-Display Panel to the Bezel/Lens. I have heard, the image quality will be very great, because there is no air gap anymore. Would be great to see! :D
with the thermal performance of this device, there is no need for the heat shield, me and multiple people i know have this shell and it runs fine and perfect without it! just a tip
You should look at the video TronicsFix did a week ago, he removed most of the metal on the back, just not the part that is used to help the heat escape.
I think it would look a little better with black buttons and joysticks. I was wondering if a clear shell existed for the Switch lite only minutes before you uploaded this.

the rf shield does not protect the chips from the world, it protects the world from the chips.
