Fun fact - Supplicants have probably the best HP to cost ratio. Yes, their attack is garbage, but the amount of HP they have is insane, especially with upgrades. 225 hp with 2 armor for just 75 minerals is a bargain. They're the best tank you can ask for, they're better than archons for the frontline, they're better than roaches, better than zealots, better than basically any unit you can imagine that's a tank. Like legit they're busted OP if you combine them with pretty much any long range damage dealer, say your reavers or vanguards or even anihilators, bc nothing can touch your backline while you have them at the front acting like a meatshield.
@@miza6Ironically, because their dps is so bad, I imagine mass supplicant would die pretty fast, because your opponents units don’t die and can thus keep attacking. The signifier is in fact voiced by Subsourian. Also last episode Grant said he's never heard of that unit, when they were featured in real scale (with a different model and abilities)
Yeah the Signifier exists in the editor as a mostly complete unit (was going to be the Nerazim HT option when HTs/Archons were their own tier) with abilities but its model and voice is just the normal HT. The archipeligo team was going to include it just as it was and I got irrationally nitpicky so I commissioned the wonderful Enoki to make that model and portrait and did some Nerazim-related voicing. As Grant says, not Blizzard quality in terms of the voice and effects but I'm happy with how it turned out.
I finally remembered what this mod reminded me - competition mode in Red Alert 3: Uprising, where you unlock units from every faction with every completed mission
The Carrier mission was actually bullshit. It's literally 'cheese or die.' If you had Dark Archons, they are going to make this a cakewalk though. Which is the problem, *_if._* 46:47 Spite is one hell of a performance enhancer. 47:22 Compensation for the Carrier mission.
I agree too, that mission really brings back the feeling of maw of the void, where it just so sloww if you intend to max out and don't know how to cheese
Archipelago is great, got a run with 'very random' setting where they are not really sure if you will be able to complete the missions. Ended up in LotV with Phoenixes on the Sentry mission, summing up, Probes can be a good attack unit versus cannons and pylons with Shield Overcharge (Lost all Sentries due to them moving to heal Phoenixes). And the same strategy worked better than you'd think on Hamburger of Oblivion, where I literally had no combat units. Consider this my vote to do another run with more chaotic settings enabled.
Supplicants are literally meatbag zealots, but the good thing about them is they do not charge to the front and die. They can still provide a good tank line for the busted mech composition availabled AND can be replaced at a reasonable price
Yeah I played archipelago too and was forced into a gas heavt army of dragoons, high templar and supplicants Most early missions do not have the gas for such armies. But like you say, supplicants were excellent frontline units in this case
46:47 Spite is quite the powerful weapon. And that weapon allowed him to beat the Carrier mission with just Instigators. 47:22 And his reward for the effort is The Dig but made super easy with incredibly powerful Siege Tanks, Warhounds, Cyclones, Widow Mines, and the Jackson's Revenge. 1:19:16 Hydra Infested Siege Tank Defiler Brutalisk is not an army comp I'd ever imagine I'd see, but it sure is a pretty good one. 1:23:00 We all are Reforged fans! I chose the archipelago setting that gave me the spear of adun on every mission and I have to say, it is a lot of fun calling down giant lasers in no-build missions, using mass recall for zerg units, and chrono surging out siege tanks
Consume being the Defiler's best skill over the Dark Swarm is so spot on. It's what makes the "Shepard Zerg(목동 저그)" so formidable against SC1 Terran, and by proxy it also makes zergling arguably the strongest unit in the faction's arsenal from SC1 all the way to the endgame, mineral per mineral and supply per supply. Imagine what would have happened if High Templars could cannibalize a whole Zealot and instantly gain 200 (equivalent for four zerglings) energy. The whole map would have looked like that one lake in Venezuela.
Your comments during the dig bring up my favorite easy fix for the Archon: +2 shield armor. Or an inherent +1 and then an upgrade for ++1/+2 more (ultra plating but for Archon shields). Their "main" role is supposed to be a tank, but their 350 HP has no inherent armor value (unlike marauders, thors, ultralisks, even roaches and zealots). It makes them feel too glassy. Which, on top of their short range, huge physical collision model, and kinda-crap pathing, turns them into a terrible unit. Some of the pathing/size issues have been addressed in ladder. But their lack of bulk remains an issue.
I feel bad for the guy who said "Game over", I didn't even know that could be considered offensive. I'd understand seeing it as banter but not something hateful. I'm not American though so I'm probably missing something.
