    Hey doc..I was just wondering if the apical part of the gp that gets cut by that device has fixed length? Fixed length in the sense..does that device allow you to insert the gp freely in or it only allows to the point that you could simply cut the apical gp part? Thanks

    • @ilovethepulp
      @ilovethepulp  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Anil, it allows you to insert the GP freely. Remember though, the GP is tapered and increases in size so you push the GP point up the the diameter of the tapered GP point! hope that helps!

    Great video and very well explained! Do you have multiple R1 plus cutters (one for every patient) or do you just have one and you disinfect it with desinfecting tissues?

      They are autoclaved, although I used to have 3 but the nurse had a habit of throwing them in the bin by accident!

    I get excellent results like with your R1 gutta cutter using the regular dentsply calibrator + surgical scalpel, easy, always repeatable, easier to clean and never dull. never even tried to use scissors as obviously the result would be frustratingly sloppy.

    • @ilovethepulp
      @ilovethepulp  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Absolutely! A scalpel is perfect, I think my main issue with a scalpel however, is that a new one has to be opened everytime and this can become quite costly! Alternatively, the gutta cutter can be autoclaved and used many times. Do you have any other suggestions for future videos?

    Thank you very much for this great video and excellent illustrations. My understanding is that we use a one smaller size gp point and cut it to fit exactly the next larger size. This is awsome.
    But what about cases that we need to just cut a tiny bit from the tip so as not to be forced to prep the canal a total of 1 size larger file! which is sometimes risky in case of 0.4 or more tapers? I wish they do another ruler that cut the gp in increments of 0.5mm in addition to this “standerdized” ruler

    • @ilovethepulp
      @ilovethepulp  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sometimes i just use the cutter to cut a small piece off, but I don't fully seat the GP point into the hole.
