    I don't have this kit, but I do have the Multipick Elite 37 and I absolutely love it! I started with a cheap amazon kit and graduated to a Southord PSX-14. Then I bought the Sparrows Monstrum XXL and I thought life couldn't possibly get any better. I was wrong. Multipick is so far above and beyond everything else I get a tingle every time I roll open the case! Feedback is incredible! They are also comfortable to work with for hours on end. Using your analogy, the Amazon kit is a barely running beater, but it still works (sort of). The Southord kit is an old chevy, tough as can be, and will get the job done. The Sparrows kit is a fine Mercedes that just cruses through locks like nobody's business, but the Multipick kit, oh man! The Multipick kit is like a brand new Ferrari cruising at 100mph with the top down, new car smell, and a Scandanavian blonde model in the passenger seat! I don't know what to do with those postal tensioners either, but they look cool in the case, so I guess I'll leave them in there. Thanks for such a great review!

      A man only needs one kidney, right?

      1 kidney? Not with the amount of merlot I am partial to

    Excellent review. The postal box tension wrenches are handy for ToK tensioners for some smaller padlocks

    I will have to look into this set once I get around to Multi pick review time, however I'm glad you took the time to go through these picks the right way. Cheers

    You can cut the postbox tool and make it in to absolutely tiny BOK tool.

    thanks MM 1 Question, are the 15th picks deeper/wider towards the handle ? or is it an optical illusion.

    • @MichaelMaynard
      @MichaelMaynard  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Andrew, good to hear from you. The shafts are the same height all the way down, as opposed to the Sparrows 015 ssdev picks which thicken significantly. The multipick steel is waaaay stronger, which let's them get away with this. You still need a light touch though obviously.

    I think yhe hooks are based on the Southord C series sets (ie the c2010) the ssdev hooks have skinnier points to be able to pick up through the keypin holes that go through very paracentric warding warding.

    • @khaitomretro

      Looking again at the picture of the hooks at 7:49 the first 6 profiles from bottom to top match the southord sets the next looks like an ssdev middle sized hook (but you then say it's scalloped out so it isn't an ssdev) and the eighth looks like Southords third largest hook. It would be good to see them directly compared because the Southords are much cheaper and I certainly wouldn't want more 25 thou picks in those profiles. I'd buy the 15 thous though.

      @@khaitomretro Southord much cheaper where? Here Sparrow is the cheapest (not considering Chinese picks) and Southord is way pricier. Not as much as Multipick, but almost in the same "range". Then you have Peterson, which costs almost double of Multipick. I would be tempted to buy just a couple Peterson profiles, maybe one the same of Multipick + a proprietary one, just to get an idea of how much better Peterson's picks are. I've seen some videos and it seems out of the box Peterson's are not as well finished as these, often needing some sandpaper. 😳 I think that's not tolerable when these are so nice and usable out of the box and cost half of Peterson. I don't know about the plastic handle and/or the steel quality if Peterson's that *much* better there....

    Great for a beginner huh. It's out of my price range by at least a hundred bucks unfortunately. Can't justify spending that much on a hobby I'm not even sure is a hobby yet.
