    Jazzman has a built in "dirt" tone. Seems like it's coming from the J pickup. Streamer has a great clean sound. Amazing how different they sound.

    Stage I is more bright and jazzman is a darker tone, incredibles both instruments!

    Both sound great but i prefer the darker tone of the Jazzman. It has a slight burpy sound too. Nice video!

    The jazzman has some personality!!!
    Stage 1 is that perfectly made bass, neck through and all the finesse a top notch bass requires. But the jazzman is some alpha that nobody sees coming.

    Great Job man this difference/comparison video was spot on. I also own 1 of each of these streamers so I can relate, however mine are 4 strings. To be honest I haven't really gigged with the or even picked up the Stage 1 for that matter in about 5 or 6 years now that I think of it. When doing the Stuart Zender thing it would be sacrilege for me to use anything else. I did however use the Stage 1 quite a bit a few years ago for slapping thing, but were talking about 10 years ago here. I gotta say though from my personal experience at least, Dammn!! can can you ever some sexy ass growliness out of that jazzman playing finger style which gets both panties wet and sound men blowing loads in their pants at the same time.
    I find on the other hand, slapping on the jazzman tends to sound like balls if you ask me from my experience.
    Thats why you need both :) Next one I get will be a Streamer CV which i think for myself, just might be the winner i've been looking for all along.

    Stage one number one :)

    The stage 1 wins hands down, it has a wider range of sound and quality of sound. Jazzman sounds like a cheaper model but the stage 1 just oozes that sexy Warwick sound.

    Had a corvette jazzman 5 and the growl from that thing was incredible. However, it really lacked sustain compared to my streamer 5. I decided to keep the streamer for its versatility, but damn I love that FNA aggressiveness.

    Hello PertyBass....
    About the electronics, have you change anything besides those switch’s?
    And JazzMan goes better though the mix because of that powerful mid’s

    • @pertybass
      @pertybass  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, regarding the electronics yes I did mod them. Check this video:

      +Vanja Spirin Exactly what I was thinking. The Jazzman has some really nice intermittent sounds, reminiscent of the Stingray, but the Stage 1 is always RIGHT on target with the sound.

      The preamp and pickups on both basses are the original MEC.

    Same test, but both w the same High Beams pleez???!?
    I can't help but think that the FNA would benefit from the clarity and tighter low B the stage 1 had for this test bc of the DR's.

    PertyBass; Curious, are both necks made of Ovangkol with Wenge fretboard? I know on some models, (Thumb Bass, Corvette, etc.) Warwick changed from all Wenge necks to Ovangkol, after 2000. Nice comparatives, btw... Very thorough.

    • @pertybass
      @pertybass  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Stage 1 neck is maple Wenge fretboard with and the Jazzman neck is Ovangkol with Wenge fretboard

      I think Pertybass wants to indicate that the Jazzman's humbucker is in Parallel mode (instead of serial) in the comparissions of both pick ups on. So, it does make sense :-)

    • @KozmykJ
      @KozmykJ 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hmmm ... Confusing to put the "Both Pickups (Jazzman - parallel) EQ Flat" overlay over the soapbar Streamer examples as well.

    Don’t like any of the sounds. Thin and rattling. Get some flat wounds and raise the action. How about some walking bass lines or even a whole melody? No chance.
