1966 LINCOLN CONTINENTAL CONVERTIBLE

For sale is this excellent condition 1966 Lincoln Continental Convertible. The previous owner has been the owner for over thirty years and she has always been garage kept since the beginning. Top was originally black vinyl, now a sort of Hartz cloth. Under carriage is very solid. Under coating was added when car was restored. Interior was done when car was restored as well. Car was restored about 20 years ago, engine was remove about ten years ago and rebuilt and detailed and touched up. Since the restoration there has only been 63,000 miles clocked on this engine. Under that long hood is a 462 V8 numbers matching 3- speed automatic numbers matching C6 transmission. This engine is pushing out about 350 horse power when those tires hit the pavement.

Beautiful. That color -- is it called Champagne? I don't think I've ever seen a Lincoln with that color before --- and certainly never with that color [leather] interior, either. Damn I wish I were some millionaire or better to collect these absolute beauties! The only real criticism I have with it (actually the previous owner:) are the WIDE white-walls --- in 1966, NARROW whites were the order of the day and what they were supplied with when NEW.
Great looking car, great shape, they do not make works of art like that anymore.
Somehow nobody can seem make a convertible sedan these days, and yet In the 1960's, they managed to make one with suicide doors. Well, they also sent some guys to the moon back then, so I guess they knew what they were doing.
But why? Why isn't there a convertible 2018 Continental, 5 series, or E Class sedan? I know handling will suffer, but just do it.

That car is a beaut! But I am quite turned off by the period incorrect tires. It would look much more desirable and authentic with thin white walls, or thin red walls, or even black walls - but the wide white do not look awesome on this vintage of car.
