Ego had him dropping his hands, he relied on the shot that hurt Francis but it didn’t land. He kept the same energy from that fight and got caught by a credible fighter.
Most of us got that completely wrong. However, Dubois got the right hand in first. AJ was done after that. I’m not really sure if we can judge his performance after that as he was off balance and fighting on instinct. The only positive was he didn’t give up and he kept throwing until he was completely done. Dubois deserves all the plaudits for his performance. Perfect job. I think realistically AJ is done, which saddens me.

AJ should’ve used him hurting Dubois as a time to recover some but I understand why he fully committed wished he had his hands up and used more uppercuts
Yeah bro I think he wanted it over and thought let me get this KO. The shot Dubois landed for the ko wasn’t even that big but AJ walked straight onto it. WILD.
Not a huge upset for me , Joshua was the favorite , and I had also picked him to win , but Dubois has a good chin , stamina and was in form and is very heavy handed , probably the biggest puncher AJ had been in there with since vlad the manner of the defeat surprised me but the fact that Dubois won ? It isn’t that much of a shock
@AGuyCalledHenry honestly, every time I root for AJ my wife's pipes up and says he is shit at BOXING 🙄 she only watched one fight that stuck with her against Ruiz!!! She knows boxing better than me 😆
I was one of the many that thought Dubois would be taken apart by Joshua. Man, was i wrong. AJ was destroyed not just beaten. And yes, he showed alot of heart to keep getting up but he was not just beaten, he was outright bullied. And wtf is up with boxing basics being completely abandoned with lead hand that low and his right hand not much higher - with his chin sticking out like it was; all of this from the first bell. Just put a bullseye on your chin big fella. Full credit to DD, he just swarmed AJ and didn't let him breathe.
I was shocked as well but I think it's because most people did say that whoever lands first will probably win. DD landed first but everybody expected AJ to land. My main takeaway however is that we need to stop being dismissive of fighters who lose fights. After DD lost to Joyce most people (myself included) did see much in him, well, we were wrong. This obsession with fighters keeping their 0 defeats is holding boxing back. DD lost two fights (although one to an ATG) and now he's a totally legit world champion.
Daniel had power aj didn’t get worse what happened was he went into a fight without being defensevily responsible against a power puncher and payed the price he never recovered from the first knockdown
Do you think Ben Davison asked him to keep his right down like Hergovic did because It helped Hrgovic land so many punches? Usually, AJ keeps his hands up. It was striking he kept it low despite taking so many shots.
If that was the case it wasn't the smartest thing to do, Hrgovic has been using that guard(it's one of his guards, he likes to switch them) for years in amateurs and pros and he knows the tricks with it, has defensive awarness and expirience with it. Similar thing happened in Joyce vs Zhang 2, Joyce adapted cross guard for the fight to defend Zhang's straight left better and he got KO'ed by hook bcs of that. If you rewatch the KO in slow motion you will see that they were in exchange and Joyce is in cross guard and thinks he can throw his left hook bcs he doesn't see that Zhang's right hook is already coming from low position due to being in crossguard. Poor defensive awarness in the new guard leads him into getting KO'ed.

Not sure what AJ has been doing in the gym in sparring?? No feints hands held low and shelling up in difficult moments no lateral movement off the ropes! Shocking but great performance by Daniel 🥊🥊🥊 good analysis Henry concise and to the point
Not shocked at all .. I commented comprehensively in a previous video thta AJ's head space hasn't been grounded since he publicly stated he sits in the dark with a candle (not too long after grabbing the mic from Usyk), and this peculiar behaviour and lack of focus was continued at the Day of Reckoning press conference, and counting. HIs weird behaviour continued after entering the ring - that vacant look staring away at Dubois, and then the coping mechanism of sticking his tongue out at his opponent, smiling at the crowd, etc.. whilst getting beaten up, I think he's got an entitlement complex that his opponent will respect him, and Dubois, like Andy Ruiz 1, gave him little respect in the ring!
I was there last night and DDD has never looked so dangerous or determined. It was DDD at his best vs AJ at his worst. All the talk was of DDD being too easy to hit but it was the other way around for reasons I still don't really understand. We were all screaming for AJ to get his hands up. It was hard to watch and 96,000 people went pretty quiet for most of it. AJ's fightback was heroic watching it again I can't believe how close he came to turning it around but DDD's counter was absolutely perfectly timed and he probably saved himself from being knocked out by the AJ uppercut that never landed. That was one of the most dramatic ends to any boxing match ever. Gutted for AJ but all credit to DDD. Baton passed.
Shocked how bad AJ was what was his and ben's plan?, Dubois proved me wrong and AJ had no answer I thought he was nervous, scared and gun shy with no defence, Dubois just levelled up after that Hrgovic fight and blew AJ away.
AJ does not seem to have boxing IQ. I don't know why people are not mentioning his coach. Usyk said his stance was terrible. How could his boxing stance get worse for an A list fighter? Bad coaching
For what it's worth I think AJ had a plan was trying to ease himself into the fight and keep it long in R1 but struggled to find the perfect timing that destryoyed Ngannou. Looked to me like he was looking for the same thing which is big a mistake because DDD came out and was hard to hit which was completely not what anyone was expecting. Against Wallin and Ngannou AJ landed heavy first and neither recovered. Same thing the other way around last night. DDD showed no fear for a second wrecked AJ's plan and hurt him early. Unlike with lighter weights there just wasn't the time to adjust or recover fully. Easy to write AJ off now and hype DDD but it could so easily have been the other way around. Saw him walk back to the changing room. He looked badly hurt, badly beaten and was a shell of the man who walked in just 20 minutes earlier. Scary what these guys go through for our entertainment. I know they are very well paid at the top of the sport but they give a lot more of themselves than most athletes and every single one of them deserves our respect.
AJ was not expecting Daniel’s punches to be so concussive, I think the first punch Dubois got in hurt him a lot more than he thought, ruined his game plan and put him in α strange place.

Possibly DD would have withstood it and the outcome would have been the same.
This first punch could have ko most heavyweight . But I don’t think he recovered from it. The last punch was a free pass- no nothing to stop the impact. And he is a big puncher
For me, AJ has known this was going to happen since the fight was announced. There's been a nervous / uncertain look in his eyes the whole time. He can continue fighting but the matchmaking is going to have to be a lot smarter!

It was an absolutely shockingly bad performance from AJ, no boxing tactics or defence whatsoever. IMO the only chance AJ has at rebuilding himself is if he takes the rematch and wins, but based on that performance I agree he should just retire. so gutted for AJ, he got caught really early and it looked over by rds 2-3 but he looked like he was coming back but when he rocked Dubois in rd 5 he got greedy like he was against Ruiz and got caught again
In most of the big heavyweight fights over the last year or two the smaller guy has beaten the taller guy. I'm not saying it means anything but it is true. I'm definitely not calling Daniel dubois small because he's 6'5 but Anthony Joshua is listed at 6 ft 6. looking at them I think that Joshua was at least 2 inches taller so somebody's not telling the truth.😊
Why was it a huge upset? AJ fought nobody leading up to the fight, and he's got a glass jaw. Overated and hyped IMO. DD deserves everything he's worked for, and I certainly wasn't shocked.
I personally don't think AJ should retire he can rebuild and make a great comeback nobody believed in big George in his second comeback so AJ should continue fighting
This loss gave me a sleepless night. Never had those after watching a fight. This is his worst performance ever. This was basically a repeat of Ruiz 1 but worse. He was fighting like an amateur. Who goes into a fight like this with no defense? I pray he doesn't retire and comes back, he will come back better. Kudos to Dubois. He earned that fight. He won.
Changing of the guard. Felt like the moment AJ beat Martin for the same belt but more emphatic maybe because he had more rounds to use AJ as a punching bag. Hope this means Dubois is a real contender and not that AJ is just a broken old man.
AJ was just too slow and ponderous with no footwork, no head movement and no defence. D Dub came out looking like a young Mike Tyson and AJ just couldn't cope with his raw aggression. To quote Larry Merchant, he was like a bull in an antique shop and he cut down the old grandfather clock.
Getting clipped first round realistically means it’s an unfair analysis for the rest of the match as AJ wasn’t in the match after that. Dubois did excellent but let’s not get carried away one over performed and the other under for the predictions made prior.
Mate you make it sound like a lucky shot. AJ got clipped because his guard was non-existent, and Dubois was able to close the space rapidly. It was a very poor performance.
@@AGuyCalledHenry not a lucky shot at all, but not a shot that you can recover from and then judge his performance on like he was a fresh fighter who didn’t take damage especially damage that would end most fights. I’m just saying how good can you be if you take a concussive shot? How much of the game plan can you stick to if half your chin just got hit out the ring in round 1.
what surprised me: the speed difference (Dubois was terribly faster); poor defence from Joshua (no plan to defend, just trying to counter, what, assuming speed differnce, was lethal)
I called it correctly yesterday with DDD victory. Everyone was continuing bigging up Joshua all the time, emperors new clothes situation, all very embarrassing. We have also been saved hearing a load of virtue signalling if he won and the totally undeserved Threeee Timmeeee
If AJ is shot? Then it doesn't say much for Fury, as AJ has done better with common opponents!... plus he lost to Usyk, so has Fury!... but no one is saying Fury is shot???..... its heavyweight boxing, AJ switched off at the end of the first round, and payed the price!... that chin shot would have k.o.d alot of the division!!!.... maybe AJ is done?..... but i think its a bit early to say that yet???
I think sometimes people just use older or getting old as a reason. That might not all ways be why they lost. It could be the same person would still win anyway
I don't think this win makes him more of the IIBF champion. He beat a guy who the real champion beat twice. I'm just saying. It was a great performance but Usyk dominated him.
I think I understand what they meant now about AJ not having a chin. Like some fighters might have been able to take more of a beating with out there legs going. It could take more to take some fighters out
It's clear aj has always been vulnerable, he's been guided very carefully to avoid big punchers and the very top heavyweights, the final nail in his coffin is the fact he believed in his own hype and finally fought someone who hits back. I honestly thought after that fight all you idiots would finally realise what we havd been saying since ruiz beat him, take a look at his past opponents, see who they fought just before he fought them, seriously take a look, thadc the level they were at when he chose them. Hearn should be e has built a good boxer AJ into a mega star and so many fell for it.
@Henry - Mate what do you mean..."What did we learn?" Mate, last night I didn't learn anything about the demolition of AJ...cause I already knew AJ is NOT an elite boxer...He never was. He is however, an elite market draw and can sell out any stadium...but that's all he is. Stop gassing bro!!! Anthony Joshua was and will ALWAYS be, a HYPE-JOB...carefully crafted, constructed and engineered by the "Hearn-Machine". All the 85% who voted Joshua to win have been fooled by 10 years of brainwashing and supreme market of "Brand AJ". I was NEVER fooled and I was among the 15% who knew Joshua would eat the canvas. I gutted I missed out on the correct round...I said round 3...Joshua chewed up the canvas in round 5. Joshua is a hype-job and will be smoked by Bakole, Kabayel, Parker, Zhang, and Usyk for a third time. There's nowhere for Joshua to go. He needs to retire with the little dignity he still has in him, or keep fighting and be remembered for chewing up the canvas five more times!! 'N'uff said bro!!
After he copped that FLOGGING from Vladamir Klitscho he lost most of his punch resistance that's as simple as that he took alot of very very hard punches from Vlad who hits harder than Dubious Vlads straight right amd that left hook he landed on AJ all night AJ would have been out in 3 if he took them klitscho punches then getting absolutely battered for 12 rounds against usyk in the first fight he was never ever the same we can't forget how good AJ was but now he is old for a heavyweight amd I think he maybe should retire because he just can't take the heavy punches anymore Dubious lost to Joe Joyce and he was landing massive punches on Joe Joe is a freak BUT even the man with the bone density 5 TIMES THAT OF A NORMAL MAN in Joe Joyce has lost his punches resistance he'd never get dropped by Drrek Chisora before or full blown knocked out by Zhang so there's a new wave of heavyweights coming through and it's great to see AJ has done VERY WELL for himself out of it Fury has Now I'm sure they should step aside hang there gloves up b4 we see all these best fighters get beaten up by 25 year old boys that are hungry AJ had nothing to gane really I don't think he deserved to be a 3 time world champion he's done 2 that's a hall of fame fighter so yeah
Incredible performance from Dubois. Joshua wasn’t ready to fight from the first bell. Dubois was. I’m a former multi weight national champion and a former undefeated pro(retired cause of serious injuries) I know my stuff. Joshua made some serious mistakes in this fight. Joshua in my opinion should be experienced enough to not make these mistakes but he did. Totally cost him the fight. Told my mate before the first bell that Joshua should be ready to fight and stand strong on his feet from the first bell. He wasn’t. He was looking to take it to deep waters and big mistake. Dubois was ready and he took to him. He was leaning back and got caught. Dubois is strong and he deserves the credit. I hope and think aj should take the rematch. He could do better if he changes the way he approaches the first few rounds. He should stand strong on his feet and look to trade from the first bell in my opinion. Big creds to both men. I think he should go for the rematch and go for it from the first bell. Take the bull by the horns and look to trade early. If he retires then respect to aj, he’s a good man and he fought everyone that was willing to sign the contract. Dubois what a f ing performance. What a redemption story. He really became a man tonight. This fight tonight inspired me to make a comeback and become a 3 weight national champion in Norway. God bless. Good entertainment. I’m predicting aj ko in the rematch
"He should stand strong on his feet and look to trade from the first bell..." You think he should stand and trade with a fighter who has already knocked him cold? LOL. You cannot be serious.
It's obnoxious to hear someone praise someone else someone else so much. Poor performance from. AJ, but Dubois wasn't that good. He still headbutted in the beginning until the referee addressed it, but Dubois still snuck some more in and he low-blowed AJ.

I said Anthony Joshua was being spoon fed opponent's since the usyk fights
Fury told us all a joshua was a body builder whos too slow and easily hit especially by some one around his own size
A typical Davidson prodigy.
Your wrong after AJ got caught on the chin first round it was over
Getting clipped first round realistically means it’s an unfair analysis for the rest of the match as AJ wasn’t in the match after that.
A preview of Bivol and Beterbiev
Hatman on both sides of the fence again
AJ came short ...DD was going to rush him and not box him...he ought to taught him a lesson not to rush @ Power .
what surprised me: the speed difference (Dubois was terribly faster); poor defence from Joshua (no plan to defend, just trying to counter, what, assuming speed differnce, was lethal)
100%
@@AGuyCalledHenry This fight reminded me Lewis-Grant or Lewis-Ruddock.... Except that fact Dubois was more like Mike Tyson :).. what a crazy fight...
I was shocked 😳
bro...wild
For me boxing just died
This win is good for boxing.
It's almost like a fake fight and AJ did everything worng. Either AJ is mentally seriously not there and DD was a on fire 🔥
Not easy to get back after being hit hard on the head. DDDtakes the credit coz he was able to hit first. AJ IS NOT OVER, COMEON !!!
I called it correctly yesterday with DDD victory. Everyone was continuing bigging up Joshua all the time, emperors new clothes situation, all very embarrassing. We have also been saved hearing a load of virtue signalling if he won and the totally undeserved Threeee Timmeeee
He did a Tyson
If AJ is shot? Then it doesn't say much for Fury, as AJ has done better with common opponents!... plus he lost to Usyk, so has Fury!... but no one is saying Fury is shot???..... its heavyweight boxing, AJ switched off at the end of the first round, and payed the price!... that chin shot would have k.o.d alot of the division!!!.... maybe AJ is done?..... but i think its a bit early to say that yet???
AJ was over confident after Francis Nganou and Dubois learnt alot from Usyk's movements.
I think sometimes people just use older or getting old as a reason. That might not all ways be why they lost. It could be the same person would still win anyway
Yes of course I just think AJ also looked like damaged goods but I could be wrong.
His guard was low because he was trying to hard after that first knock out
The whole time i was watching (i used your link) i was thinking Henry gonna be disappointed he gave Aj an 83-85 for defense.
🤣🤣🤣 bro he destroyed my ratings.
Was a great card and a very enjoyable night. See you in the next 1 bro 🫶👊
My parents had Mike Tyson I have Daniel Dubois 💪🏾
Wilder vs AJ first, they owe it to the fans then they can retire. Also small correction, Dubois is 27.
Well someone would be getting KOd for sure 😂. Cheers re the age!
I don't think this win makes him more of the IIBF champion. He beat a guy who the real champion beat twice. I'm just saying. It was a great performance but Usyk dominated him.
I told you DD had a good IQ.
Dubios is on roids, his 'Brazil' trip was to see the juju doc.
AJ is on roids also.
@@trollgoodman7808 Troll good to see you back on the channel
AJ was dancing and sticking his tongue out
Brazil?
Hatman's influence is far reaching
I think I understand what they meant now about AJ not having a chin. Like some fighters might have been able to take more of a beating with out there legs going. It could take more to take some fighters out
Shock shock shock
Aj has a glass chin
Aj can't work well when the pressure is on
It's clear aj has always been vulnerable, he's been guided very carefully to avoid big punchers and the very top heavyweights, the final nail in his coffin is the fact he believed in his own hype and finally fought someone who hits back.
Wrong
@samuelakiwumi2988 still gullible
@@RepentingMan yes I’m serious
@@Gewtb Why would he stand and trade with a fighter who has already knocked him cold? Should he also have stood and traded with Ruiz in the rematch?
In 2018 or 2020 I think AJ would have beat Dubois if they had a fight then.
didnt shock me.. I posted days ago DDD in 4 under cockney toff.. every1 laughed.. more fool them..only got it wrong by 1 round
👏
Joshua is an average fighter at best
you were indeed very wrong
Yep.
Or maybe aj is just lil overrated
It's obnoxious to hear someone praise someone else someone else so much. Poor performance from. AJ, but Dubois wasn't that good. He still headbutted in the beginning until the referee addressed it, but Dubois still snuck some more in and he low-blowed AJ.
You have no idea
What’s your opinion?
I agree. He made some decent points and then some points that made me think he was a casual.
