I'm A Nord, but somehow I feel so sentimental listening to this. Not so strange, perhaps, but I really love it, it's one of the most beautiful songs I've heard in years.
    Love from Sweden!

Beautiful music, I am in a re-enactment group, we are Tolkien related and play the Rohirrim, this music is exactly what I have in mind when we practice or battle :))

i agree with everything you say other than beowulf being a gaet, Also there was a recent and major genetic study which you might be interested in, that shows Scotland as being 70% germanic dna, specifically saxon, jute, angle and later danish viking dna, which is exact same, as they are basically Angles etc that didn't leave. Making them the same as the english, hope any scots don't find that annoying! The north coast is norwegian, a slightly different branch of germanic dna.

I too, am Scottish-American. Here in America, ourSacred Sites are tied to famous Battles - I even lived over the creek bed of the HMS Diana, from our first Naval Victory.
Often these took place on previous Native American sites - long forgotten. Our roads were their trails. So we are a vast mix here, of sacred/historical. Have you visited any of the ancient or sacred or pre-Christian sites of Europe?

Beowulf is a Germanic tale mate, A Saxon warrior travelling to Denmark to aid a Chieftain in ridding his village of a monstrous threat. Saxons invaded and pushed the Celts out of England and into the furthest reaches of the British Isles, hence the Irish, Welsh and Scottish rivalries against the English ever since, so I'd imagine you would hate him haha, great video nonetheless though mate, glad to see others take pride in their culture!

Close, but not quite. Beowulf was a Geat. "Celt" is a catch-all term used to describe the pre-Roman tribes of Britain. The Saxons invaded after the Romans had left Britain (and pushed the Celtic tribes to Scotland, Wales, etc) so it was the Romano-British that the Saxon were fighting, more than the Celtic tribes. The Beowulf poem was written between the 8th and 11th centuries, and so it would have been the Anglo-Saxons fighting against Vikings at the time.
