“Garlinkit”. 😂😂😂 That’s a C. Not a G. Proper way to say it is Car-link-it actually. Have them in all my cars. Very handy. Only change you may want to make is to get into the setting and lower the ms response as low as you are able to. Reason for this is when you’re watching a video at a charger or something the voice sync is pretty bad unless you make that change. It may also help with the lagginess. Enjoy!
There’s three country versions. The one for North America is sold out. There’s another which only uses hotspot. I am in Seattle. Which one to buy and why?
I spoke to my contact at Carlink and they said that they have discontinued the SIM card version so it is best to order the North American hotspot version. Hope that helps 😊
It’s an alternative for those who love CarPlay. For those who don’t they can stick with the Tesla UI. I appreciate you watching and giving your opinion 🙏🏼
This is such a bad idea. You introducing a 3rd party device that is controlling comms between your phone and car. Not only are you giving it access to your car, but also your phone and the internet. There is nothing stopping it from "phoning home" to mirror your screen and any inputs you give it. Just because you can do it, doesn't mean you should....
CarPlay is a downgrade from the Tesla UI. There’s just no need for it. The cases you mentioned you’d be better off having a quality mag mount and running it on your phone.
I thought it wasn’t too bad considering that it’s using LTE. I’ve also seen a lot worse. Would I like it to be buttery smooth, yes but I also understand what it is. A good alternative for sure
Hey Eric, if I’m not mistaken, their should be a 120 outlet in the middle console. Buying an anker outlet adapter to perhaps alleviate the charging for your phone and making room for other devices nho?
You are not wrong on that point. What I did yesterday was input a supercharger that I wanted to go to through the CT UI and then use CarPlay for everything else. That way it preconditioned prior to arriving to the SCer
Great, not you made your screen just as shitty as a chevy bolts infotainment screen. Carplay and Android Auto is totally unnecessary and i am thankful tesla has decided to not add it, it ruins the look and responsiveness of their screen.

You are right but the box says Garlin kit 🤷🏻♂️
@@Butter_EV It’s a C. Just the font they use. 👍🏻

Thanks to you and your videos, I went out and bought a cyber truck.. Good videos bro
I really appreciate the kind words. Means a lot 🙏🏼
First Tesla ?
try tesla android next. my carlinkit disconnects all the time
it gets delay but a good alternative to using carplay,,, used it on my tesla Y 3 months lol
This is definitely a good alternative
I added to my model 3 sometimes yes I have to manually connect to it!
Yeah its hit or miss for me
And the purpose for this is???
For those who prefer CarPlay, specifically Waze users
Why? Seems like going backwards from telsa eco system
Its for those who prefer CarPlay and those who want Waze or other apps on their main screen
huge lag .
I had some lag but nothing too annoying. Definitely seen worse
Nope. Sorry, but this is really bad!

Some will want it, some will not. But the fact that there is an option is great

That is an option as well but there are some who prefer all of that info on one screen
Is it all working? Do you have turn by turn direction sound while driving? Do you have music in car play while driving?
thats not some delay thats a lot of delay lol

Yes you are correct. I might just do that. Thanks for the suggestion 😁
Nice, thanks Eric. My only concern is getting hooked on CarPlay and not the native UI and missing out on battery preconditioning.

this is super slow compared to the built in system
It is slower than the Tesla UI but not as slow compared to other car manufactures systems. My wifes Jeep carplay is just about as slow
Sold out
You can buy the "for phone hotspot" version
