I feel it really connects with nature and all so yea it would be good to get facial for the scenes! I hope to get ice cream or something while I take a scroll in the park it should be fun and sun

I love Chester! My daughter currently at Chester University. I make every excuse I can to go visit. Its a lovely day out. Or weekend away. She's currently halfway through university so got a few more years to enjoy all of Chester so I can take my time all around the shops and scenery. Hopefully you never know she may settle there. Fingers crossed 🤞xxx

@@波蘿包-o1o it’s quite nice as crime rate doesn’t seem high. it’s nice and feels like a village. however when the horse races it’s on, their can be a lot of drunk people on the street. little homeless people on the street. there are many restaurants and clothes shops. main problem is there aren’t many activities to actually do, except escape rooms? the parks and playgrounds are nice! nice place to live calmly i’d say. cheshire oaks isn’t far either! close to liverpool as well! 30 minutes drive, 45 by train!

My home city (Sheffield) has a main shopping street called Fargate. Most of the shops are boarded up now, we have people with drug problems there now
The answer is to move away from shops (in my opinion) and put cafe's, music venues, independent arts and crafts shops etc and above them have residential homes so people can live in the city centres again
Like I say absolutely everywhere is exactly the same, and has been brought on mostly by an overreliance on shops and offices which aren't as popular or needed as much anymore now online is a thing

Is Chester a nice area to live in? I am looking to buy somewhere in a few years and it’s on my list of places. I don’t know much about the area but what’s it’s reputation like? Manchester is interesting too with a lot to do but seems rather unsafe… Chester seems like a much nice area. Any advice and knowledge would be hugely appreciated!

I went to Chester randomly took my current self got on the late bus from my location Flintshire decided to stay around Chester, in accommodations. After a few days I started to feel a bit better in my soul spirit body energy and a slight improvement in mental state. Felt chirpy for the first time in years. Although there was still the pain of where I’ve been situated for the last couple of years on my own. Etc surrounded by drains. And thinking I would have to return at some point because nothings permanent in Chester and it’s costly. I haven’t been into Chester city for ages explored parts of the area and the river I sat along most days which I felt a calming sensation which was pleasant. With a cup of sweet tea. And the canal, Alright few weeks although my memory is not that great so I’ll forget what I did on each day. Had my earplugs in every day listening to some music which was ok.

Chester my home town, born & bred here, still live in Chester although it's Upton (by the Zoo) where I currently reside. Some absolute superb footage of my great town (please do come take a visit) at 6:55 you showed Debenhams, Browns Of Chester which has ceased trading, we lost a few shops during the pandemic but Browns Of Chester was NOT one of them, it was already due to close before Corona hit, it carried on trading through most of the pandemic until it's closure in May of 2021. It had been Debenhams for more than 40 years having actually started out in 1780 by the Brown sisters hence the Browns Of Chester name. They tried to get it re-opened 3 months after closure but to no avail, it still remains empty to this day.

@@GimbalWalkTV They're still trying to come up with plans for it but nothings concrete yet so remains empty, it'll probably be pretty expensive as it's 3 floors. Also you must visit Chester at Christmas time for the outdoor Christmas market stalls, it gets quite busy then too as well as summer.

I'm really sad Browns has gone, so many nostalgic memories of shopping there for over 50 years. We never called it Debenhams, always Browns. I was born near Upton; we used to walk along the Rows most Saturdays, and I always insisted on running up and down those slanted wooden parts. It seemed very exciting when I was three, but it must have driven my parents crazy!

Mark Newton you may be interested to know that Hollyoaks is actually filmed in Liverpool and that the set is located at the Lime Pictures studio which is also in Liverpool. They used to actually film the show in Chester but then for some unknown reason Channel 4 moved production of Hollyoaks to Liverpool and some of the old Brookside set was used on Hollyoaks as well.

A busy shopping centre? 10:pm and there’s no one around. I remember when Chester was packed with people , now look at it . So sad. So sad to see all our beautiful towns and cities so quiet. Something needs to be done. It breaks my heart watching this. This is the city closest to where I live and work and it’s a ghost town.

We live in the age of the internet Richard where it's easier to sit on your couch and order online, last couple of years Chester is dead at this time during the winter months because rather than freeze you're fingers and toes off trapsing around the street they can sit at home in the warmth and click a button. It gets marginally better during the summer months and even around the Christmas period. Not much can be done about it until internet shopping dies and lets be honest that's never going to happen.

I love Chester, but it’s not the Chester I knew when I was growing up. It needs a massive injection of cash from somewhere or someone to bring it back to the classy city it was. Most of the small boutique shops have now gone, simply because they couldn’t afford the rent only to be replaced by chain stores. Very sad to see.
