This is one of the greatest performances I've ever seen listening to music since mid 50s. Stevie was on 🔥💥 🔥 FIRE! Was inducted twice into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame once with Mac other by herself. One of my favorite singers ever. Agree, they all did a phenomenal job!!!
Imagine living back in the 70's, and knowing nothing about Fleetwood Mac until this performance aired on TV in '76, and watching it live. Up to that point there were a few big time female rockers, but not many. And then you get to witness Stevie Nicks go absolutely nuts on Midnight Special. That would've made my midnight special without a doubt 🔥🔥🔥
Funny you should mention that. I watched it live (on TV) that night back in '76. Me and a bunch of my college buddies had been out partying and we got back to my friend's apartment and flipped on the TV to Midnight Special (which came on live on Friday nights at midnight). I had heard of Fleetwood Mac but didn't know anything about them. We were all completely blown away by Rhiannon ... and especially by Stevie Nicks! Fleetwood Mac did a second song later in the show, but it wasn't nearly as intense as Rhiannon. The next day I went to a campus record store and bought Fleetwood Mac's latest album. I had become a huge fan literally over night.
@@robhoskins8871 Awesome! That must've been some great times... A person would have to have venom running through their veins to watch that performance and not be impressed and moved by it. I wasn't even alive yet, but watching that performance and reading your story about it gives me a feeling of nostalgia, for lack of a better term. If I could travel back in time to any decade of choice just once, it would def be the 70's
Yes! Christine finally gets the Empress shout out. She deserves it. We all love Stevie, but Christine was a force in Fleetwood Mac in her own right. Also, I believe Stevie and Lindsey are still a couple at this point. Not exactly sure.
Prior to Fleetwood Mac Christine McVie ( Christine Perfect as she was then) was in a band called Chicken Shack, check out their cover of I'd rather go blind sung by her, One of my favourite songs of that era.
Don't Stop was a famous song from Fleetwood Mac..as well as Little Lies. Christine's return in the 2010s after a 10+ year break was so welcomed... the missing ingredient
They all shine in this performance. This is one of the rare occasions where the live performance is better than the recorded version, and that is saying a lot. Christine's harmonies and keyboards pop, Lindsey has that sick solo that he doesn't have on the recorded version, John and Mick are their usual greatness on bass and drums, and Stevie....oh, Stevie! Love how she changes up the lyrics from the recorded version, and that vamp at the end, in Mick's words is not so much a performance as it is an exorcism, lol. For my money it is one of the greatest live performances by a female artist. Maybe P!nk with some of her high flying acrobatics tops this, but I don't know...Stevie is just the Queen of Rock. Sorry Tina, but Stevie gets the crown.
SUCH an incredible performance! I was in high school in the '90s, so the 1997 reunion concert The Dance was my first exposure to this great song. As grand, elegant and mystical as that version is, I never heard this live version until maybe 5-7 years ago, and I was BLOWN AWAY. This is just raw rock talent. I love everything about it. And yes, Christine is so the bridge that brings the styles of Stevie and Lindsey together, IMO. People say that when she left the band, they felt like they were watching one band with two separate writers in Stevie and Lindsey. Christine had a way of bringing their two styles together, and is also a wonderful songwriter as well. They all brought such different and wonderful things to the table. A great band filled with great artists.
Please react to Fleetwood Mac’s live performance of ‘Silver Springs’ from The Dance in 1997. It’s one of their best performances ever and the tension between Stevie and Lindsey is ELECTRIC ⚡️!!! No one else on TH-cam has reacted to it yet.
Yes, m'am, Christine was overshadowed by Stevie's persona, and she preferred it that way because she was shy, but in my opinion she was as equally talented as a songwriter and performer to Stevie and Lindsay. I absolutely love the simplicity and beauty of Songbird, and she wrote a lot of big hits like Don't Stop, Little Lies, Say You Love Me, You Making Loving Fun, Everywhere...
Christine was overshadowed by more than Stevie's persona, she was overshadowed by Stevie's beauty. Both women were exceptionally talented songwriters and performers, but let's face it, sex sells.
There are many concerts on TH-cam that were legit releases. You can hear them harmonies better but this was young Stevie at her best and they all killed it.
Live watching young folks liken you react to the favorites from back when I was your age. Please consider reacting to Stevie's newest song from 2020 which is "Show them the way" It has some political and black lives matters themes to it.
I ain’t never heard anyone give Christine her props, she was always essential he left talent is unmatched

Christine is amazing! I promise you one of hers next month 😁
Stevie’s voice is so recognizable when you hear it. Amazing vocalist. Love her!
This was Lindsey and Stevie’s television debut, and after this aired the band really took off, and the rest they say is history ✌️😁❤️

Foreverobsessed w this live version...pure fire! 🔥 A special shoutout to this iconic Stevie hair moment as well 🙏
I love it Christine gets some love. Thanks

Love this live instrumental arrangement!

Great reaction!

Ok, so now you really need to react to her live performance of Silver Springs from the Fleetwood Mac’s.......The Dance Concert.
such a classic! Love this one
FLEETWOOD MAC / STEVIE NICKS / INCREDIBLE VOICE / BIG RESPECT ...
Yes Lindsey and Stevie were together at this point
If you love soap operas you need to dive into THIS band's history!
I don't love soap operas but I do get fascinated by the relationship dramas of this band lol
Lindsey and Stevie had been together since high school
There are many concerts on TH-cam that were legit releases. You can hear them harmonies better but this was young Stevie at her best and they all killed it.
Dig it*
🐐 🐐 🐐
For some reason it would be funny af if Steve had said "this is a song about an old Welsh b*tch"
Remastered Album cover of Song birds by Christine McVey

Shout out to Lindsey on that guitar🎸!!!
Guess I'll just drop this one here just for you Empress 😉:

Between her and Fleetwood Mac they have crap load of great songs!! Sooo many
Can you please react to Christine McVey Songbirds . But the Albion cover?
Ummm... Lindsey Buckingham is quite a good singer on his own. His song Trouble was a big hit in 1981.
Stevie is stoned out of her mind on coke during this performance
Great song nice reaction but your sound keep crackling. Do Christi e McVies songbird and everywhere
Christine did blackface so... i cant get myself to like her 😭
sound is bad
