Hey! I watched you guys come through the bridge at Swansea, on the Channel entering & exciting the Lake. I own a medical practice with views over the Channel (building on the left at 6.58), so ringside seat for all the fun that unfolds around the bridge! Welcome, and thanks for shining a light on our little piece of paradise 😎 PS - the blue-water channels are more over to the right before the bridge, and the left after! PPS - a lot of the development of high performance sailing (eg planing, asymmetric spinnakers, trapezing) happened between Lake Mac and Sydney Herbour. As such, the Belmont 16s (16ft skiffs) is one of the landmarks on the Lake. PPPS - “Lake Mac” is easier to say! But its basically ’Mac-quarry’, said the Brit immigrant 🤣
You now have a company on board and it has improved your page, what a beautiful soft voice she is blessed with, one could listen to it all day, really enjoy your weekly blogs
7:40 showoffs. This vid brought so many memories of sailing in Puget Sound on a 24' Cal. I learned a lot and got to steer and do the rope thing etc.. I was a kid. . Nothing like it.
Great end to a good day , been spending 2 days rebuilding a injection pump on a yanmar yse8 , and today the old diesel sprung to life after 2 years of being silent! Good feeling ! Great video as usual you guys ! ❤
I’m relatively new to ur channel..I’ve really enjoyed your videos..thank u for doing all the extra work it takes n order to bring us along with u!!! Keep up the great work…well done sir
"Gday" James & Rhonda, welcome & hope you had a great time in beautiful Lake Mcquazzi ,really enjoy your shows and look forward to your future content,🤙🍻
Enjoying your videos of my own backyard. Next stop I’m guessing Newcastle then Port Stephens. I keep an eye out for you. Thanks for sharing love videos.
James, I finished your series from French Polynesia and Fiji and I’m a few vids into New Zealand! I love how you really explore the culture and give us a bit of history. Plus you’re totally chill 😂 a great quality to have. Tell Rhonda congrats on her first solo sail! She’s a rockstar and a great addition to the crew! Your sail into Sydney Harbor gave me goosebumps 😂
I find it really interesting to follow your journey as a fully certified land lubber, who never sailed for more than one afternoon in my life, from my little home from a small Finnish town. Stay safe and enjoy your sails!
All those head lamps you would have seen would be from the government schools kids camp at Point Woolly, doing their night nature walks, they learn to sail and kayak around there a lot too, a really beautiful part of Australia
This is very close to my backyard. I’ve spent a lot of time on the lake. I’m guessing this video is a little while ago. I hope you got to Port Stephens, Myall Lakes and Broughton Island before heading further north. Thanks 🙏
My opinion only. Ozzie bellbirds sound nothing like our bellbirds (makomako, or korimako) back here in Nz, do they Rhonda.? Oz species are all noise. But this is a sailing channel, so back to the subject in hand, it's a beautiful location you have there. Peaceful. And well done to you Rhonda sailing onto the buoy. You looked pretty chuffed with yourself, and so you should be. It looked awesome from this side of the screen. Take a bow. And with your verbal assistance too James,, we have the perfect team. Thank you for sharing "team." Love it. Take care and all the best from over here in Nz.
The birdsong here in Australia is a lot different to that of NZ, as I’m sure will be the case as we move from place to place… NZ is a special place that’s for sure, with an incredibly beautiful birdsong.
I did not know that lake was the largest in the southern hemisphere..wow that is amazing to know..im sure going to visit that place in my journey..I'm just about done with my boat..can't wait to sail the world.. this is one of my dreams james to sail the world..I have been working commercial fishing all my life and just loves the beauty of the water and mother nature and so peaceful.. can't wait..
My boat is a 1978 sandpiper 32 ft..I came across this boat by visiting the outer Banks of North Carolina..nags Head..I came in at pirates cove Marina and docked my boat so I figured I'd get something to eat at the marina and stumbled across this boat with a sign on it that said free..to me in my mind this cant be real..so I called the number on the sign and sure enough it was real..I met this older lady when she arrived..we went and sat down and talked about the boat and the story behind it and she told me that her and her beloved husband traveled around the world 🌎 in this boat..he passed and she couldn't sail anymore and her health was declining and to many memories of her and her husband on this boat..It was a happy and sad ending story..she wanted someone to take the boat and enjoy it..I was like wow can I please offer you money for the boat she said no sir I want someone to enjoy and take care of her,so that's how it went..signed the title and now I'm working hard on it..new name of the boat is going to be the Morning ⭐ star..I'm ready to go sailing
Love the channel, James! Been watching your content for a while now, so if I can make one suggestion... Can you please not look so happy all the time? You know, for us land locked corporate types?!? Seriously though, thank you for sharing your journey. Look forward to what is next!
Love your upgrades I sail C30 203 1976. I’m happy to see you went back to a tiller I’ve always had one. Did you have a smile problem? A few years back my boat was separated from the keel all summer with heaters trying to dry it out. Love your videos
Hey James, I’m on an Alberg 30 in Oxnard CA, and I gotta replace the stuffing box AND the transmission (an MD7A Volvo Penta) what yard would you recommend putting her up on the hard and which mechanics do you have good experiences with? I figured you of all people would know since we’re on sister boats
Been watching your channel for about a month. First time commenting. Rhonda is a good addition. Seems like a proper Olive Oyl to your Popeye. Hope she doesn't have any Blutos in her closet. LOL
@@SailorJames Brisbane waters is across Broken Bay from Pittwater .[ Woy Woy and Gosford] and I'm glad you got out of here when you did, it's really cold here now, BRRRR, lol.

Enjoying this series up the east coast of Australia. Unlike many, you're taking your time and making the most of it.

Dark green camouflage bell birds
Cool
I crew in races on lake Macquarie
Top spot to sail

Can hear the bell birds

My boat is an Alberg 30, nothing at all like a Catalina 30. These boats have a encapsulated keels and never have wheels.
Fair dinkum mayte. I'd call it Macquarie too. Aussies pronounce everything interestingly lol.
I live at chain valley bay south u probably went there.
nice cookie monster laugh 😂
It's a long way in and out of broken Bay,, pitwater
Lake Macquarie is the 2 largest sa.t water lagoon
It is like that until you get a lot further north inside the outer reef.
I truly don’t think Triteia could make it down the Pecos into the salty waters of RedBluff lake
We dream to sail to Faliraki
EPIC!
What type of the boat you are owning?

Ventura Harbor Boat Yard - Brad is the foreman, a great and honest dude. Replace the stuffing box with a PSS and thank me later
25.5. That tree was infested with a Strangler Fig, which eventually kills the host tree.
