There are a lot of male Australian species in the US named Steve or Irwin hahaha, I love Steve Irwin, I would still do it. I would get the whole family going, Steve, Terri, Bindi, Robert, Chandler haha (I think that's Bindi's husband's name...he's from Florida I believe). I won't be having any Australian species of anything, except the humans, I do have one of those and he wasn't game for a name change (rude) ;)
I habe to agree it be nice to have Steve irwin part of channel.. with out hom a lot of conservation work for crocodiles would not be where it is today tbh .

It dawned on me recently that my nieces are growing up in a world with only the memory of Steve Irwin, so I started showing them videos & teaching them all the ways in which he inspired me to understand, love, & protect nature. When my older niece recently developed a fear of bees, it was Steve’s fearlessness which guided me through educating her about why they’re so valuable
& important. Now the only time she freaks out about bees is when they’re drowning in the pool & she’s desperate to save them. It was through teaching them about Steve Irwin that we stumbled across your videos, and I can’t even explain how much they love you. They mimic your mannerisms & excitement when they talk about reptiles. That’s when I realized that YOU are their Steve Irwin. Thank you for giving them that.
I know I’m a little late to this party, but I don’t think you could have picked more perfect names than Terri & Steve for your baby Inland Taipans. I think he’d have been truly honored by this gesture.

You should put a little door on the front of Allyson’s box it’d be super simple to do you could put little locks on it to keep it safe. Keep her from stressing and you having to move other snakes to put her in there cage!!

I had an enormous iguana named Lurch when I was younger, he was the coolest. But, I think Gomez & Morticia would be fantastic names for a breeding pair of venomous snakes! I like Terri & Steve for these babies….but you’re definitely right about a future pair.

Will you need a dehumidifier, or is the aspen dry enough? I've heard the shedding is difficult in our humidity. Also, love the name ideas because it's your heroes and your dream species together. :)

Chandler, I've never understood what it means when people say "this is the most venomous snake" or "this snake is more venomous". Does that mean the snake has more venom in its glands, can adiminister more venom per bite, is most deadly with a single bite, is most deadly should it inject all of its venom, is most deadly "drop for drop"? Genuinely curious, as a maths guy I need a definition XD

It’s Drop for drop potency compared to other snake’s venom to see how fast it acts!

For these particular snakes it is drop for drop. For the king cobras, it is the amount they make and can inject. King cobras can inject enough venom to kill an elephant.
Lol he literally said drop for drop in the video. It means their LD50 is the lowest ever recorded for killing mice. Basically its lethal dose is the lowest amount for the average Taipan to kill a mouse.
When measuring toxicity, there's a thing called LD50. That is the dosage required to kill half the members of a group. The more toxic something is, the smaller the dosage required.

Why do you just add some sort of door on Alyson's box that you can just close when she is in there and take out the box?
Jarrod Carver, that’s how Allison’s box is set up already. He can close the box completely with Allison inside if he wants, and take it out of the enclosure like that, then open it from the back, or use the hook stick. Is that what you meant?
@@kendrasowell2411 No I was talking about the hole in the front. If there was a door he could just close it when she is in the box then it could be a “snake holding receptacle”. I’m sure Chandler would rather handle her.
Years ago he did that with the king cobra. I believe he stopped because the box became moldy and it appears easier just to take the snake out.

I have seen those adolescent Taipans in inland of the Northern Territory in Australia, on exercise with the Australian army. On dusk, it was like they almost glowed with their beautiful bright colors.
