The animation in ZZZ is significantly better then all of Hoyo's other work. Previous stuff basically looked like high end video game cutscenes (which is what they were, I know), vs ZZZ which is bordering on animated movie levels of quality. The animation is just a lot more fluid, complex and bouncy.
I guess it feels like they're evolving more than usual from a Genshin standpoint. The amount of care they put into music and dance choreography was always there in HI3, now with the Genshin money they're going ham.
