He-Man: "In today's story we find out what happens when you lie.Kevin Smith lied about being a He-Man fan, when it was found out he hated my show, and made a show that was very much of a let down, and insulting to long time fans for the sake of social politics. Now, it's always best to tell the truth, no matter what. Even if you're offered a truck load of money for it, telling the truth is worth more than that. Til next time!"
Always loved he-man for the morals taught at the end. Its the little things we forget to follow and we get stuck in large trouble. My favourite character since childhood.I dont see much cartoons lately giving advice or morals at the end.Kids should be taught something and not just stupid fighting or nonsensical funny cartoons always.
I know this cartoon looks pretty cheesy when looked at from today's perspective, but the life lessons that they have portrayed in this show were very true. You don't even see modern-day cartoons encouraging kids to be stronger and live healthier lives. All this Teen Titan Go crap and other modern cartoons make stupidity look like something that's fun to do. It's harder to embrace encouraging life lessons because the shows don't help a little kid feel like a hero. We seriously could use more epic shows like these. I'd like to see more American cartoons doing just as an amazing job as the Japanese are in encouraging kids to be more like the heroes from their cartoon shows.
I live in an urban neighborhood. These kids today have no respect for others and themselves. Just the other day when I was on the bus an old lady had pooped herself. All the black High-school kids on the bus were laughing, recording her humiliation on their phones, and even referred to her as "An old dirty bitch." I and a few other passengers were the only ones who called the ambulance and her relatives to help clean her up and get her some more clothes. I swear us 80's/90's kids were never this disrespectful to adults and to the elderly. I think negative music, social media, and improper use of the internet is what created people who don't care about life come from. I;m glad to be brought up before the internet was a big thing and we had cartoon shows and other sources of media to show us the proper ways of being good human beings. I fear it's only going to get worse in the future.
@@mickymickymike4105 I personally think the things you listed were not the biggest things that affect this behavior. I think the way the new generation behaves is because of the way they are raised and taught by older generations. Just like one of the messages in He-Man stated, people should take responsibility for their actions even though it may be difficult to admit that younger people's behavior could be caused by the way they were raised.
I'll never forget that morning in first grade when I almost crossed the street outside the crosswalk but I saw this the day before. Too bad Jenny didn't watch he-man. Oh well it's today that counts and I'm going to make it the best day possible!
RIP Lou Scheimer, thank you for all those life lessons that helped our young fragile minds grow to make the better decisions because our heroes helped explain it to us...
This sorts of life lessons is something that should be in modern cartoons... a lot of kids remember more from what they see in cartoons then they do at school...
At least in the He-Man cartoons, they didn't have some character named Loo Key hiding in the woods before giving morals. What they should've done on She-Ra was have the He-Man characters team up with the She-Ra characters to give life lessons. Well, at least they did that once when they had He-Man, She-Ra, and Orko giving a life lesson at the end of "Horde Prime Takes a Holiday."
I grew up watching He-Man in the 80's. I feel the end of the episode moral segments helped me grow up to have good morals. Kids are very impressionable and lessons stick by them, even if they don't remember. Watching these segments again reminded me how much of a good influence He-Man was, and still is.
he-man, I followed every piece of advice you gave, and I became a real man! Then I forgot about them and screwed up royally every 3 days or so, but then I started watching the show again, and I'm once more on the path to real manhood!
I'm going to watch this every morning and become a better person. It should be compulsory viewing at schools, to help the next generation of children avoid the moral pitfalls (animal abuse, magic drugs, taking shortcuts to the top) this generation has fallen into. Thanks He-Man.
older cartoons had meaning, Scooby Doo taught us that ghost dont exist, Johnny Bravo taught us how (not) to treat girls, this version of He-man never aired at my country but im glad to see that it has moral to it
"animals like all living things should be treated with kindness and respect" as she's petting a big ass dragon holding a big ass gun...message sent, message received.
@vitalifran Like most 80's cartoons, He-Man was also a toy commercial. The scooter fit into a giant wheeled base that shot plastic missles out of the top. The animators made the thing look just like the toy.
These "lessons" might seem cheesy to some people but how many childrens' shows have any constructive thinking for children to do nowadays. You dont have to agree with the lessons but at least they make kids think. Btw the shows are constructed around the lessons and not the other way around. The simplistic structure is pretty clear
"Think twice before playing a joke or a trick on anybody. It might not go the way you planned and someone could wind up losing a finger or an arm or maybe even an eye." Says someone who's just been battling people with a blaster.

And there's nothing wrong with that, as we are all friends and family who love each other's company. Hating on people based on something like that isn't cool. But acceptance is. Until next time!"

These are all good lessons. My favorite one is the one that says the people who raise you and love you are your parents. I'm not adopted, but I think the message is so profound.
Simplistic as they may seem, the lessons I learned from this show DID shape me--kids are shaped by everything they watch, and particularly by things that interest them. Compared to the amoral or immoral "lessons" one could take away from many more recent cartoons (ex. "The Girm Adventures of Billy and Mandy"), I think contemporary animators and writers would do well to follow He-Man and Co.'s example.
simply awesome ! the way i see it is that in todays dirty world, animation is the best way 2 impart moral & social values . & whats best, kids would not mind it at all :>)
These are good teachings...do cartoons these days still do that? I thought the funniest one is where he tells little kids to check with the doctor before running.

Omg i miss so much these Heman episodes, i feel the same as back then...i always was waiting to see these lessons hehe, the final lesson Rolf!! xD
Millenial cartoons are missing these vital lessons
Remember kids, when a big, blonde, muscular man with a magic sword, and riding a green tiger tells you to do something, you better listen.
At least in the He-Man cartoons, they didn't have some character named Loo Key hiding in the woods before giving morals. You have to wonder how many lives these life lessons at the end of cartoons saved. I literally learned more from them than I did from my parents.
Remember when cartoons summarized the awesome learning experience that they provided? I wish they still did this, so basic, so coll!
i love these tips- they shaped me! thx for posting!
the look of disgust on He-Mans face when he talks about drugs actually made me feel bad
This was a great cartoon! Positive morals at the end of every story. Probably why my generation turned out so good.
i loved how he talked about safety while riding a large tiger covered in armor half naked. I'm going to the zoo to try something now.
The morals might be cheesy but they're all true, and I like sending positive messages to kids.
*cracks up* I love the last one, where they talk about not eating things off the ground. Now that's a lesson kids could actually use...
I love how the only difference between Adam and He-man are clothes and a tan. Awesome.
"animals like all living things should be treated with kindness and respect" as she's petting a big ass dragon holding a big ass gun...message sent, message received.
I think that todays cartoons needed those kinds of idea to help kids understand life and be better in there life.
This is why I LOVE Qubo!
Yeah I know I love all the life lessons from he-man and masters of the universe
Then the message has done its work and another tragic (if hillarious) series of accidents has been averted, good work He-man.
Man I wish they would put that show back on tv.
I got the feeling that he was remembering something tragic, like his time in rehab after his last Vicodin binge.
I never knew he-man was so deep! I should have paid more attention to these cartoons.
"i hope that those of you who have a dog, a cat or maybe even a HAMSTER remember that!" lol

A man riding a giant green tiger gives advices about SAFETY?!

a finger, an arm, or even an eye. I love the way it makes loosing a whole arm sound trivial. Especially from Man At fuckin Arms!!!

He-man is a fine one to talk about safety, he is constantly doing very dangerous things. Sort of a do as I say, not as I do kind of guy.
