Elephant Herd Disturb Sunbathing Hippos | Maasai Mara Safari | Zebra Plains

A nice sized elephant herd descend the banks of the Mara river for a drink and a swim, disturbing a hippo family that were sunbating on a sandbar in the middle of the river.
Elephants and hippos usually are not bothered by each other but the large size of the elephant herd made the hippo family retreat to the safety of the water.

Yes the crocs know the main crossing points so hang around in those areas most of the time

Yes with intruding male hippo, also have seen them chasing other species, even biting a buffalo
